As the country suffers through the Epstein/Dershowitz honeypot story I'm wondering if we are going to start seeing other variations of youth exploitation as a similar type of criminal offense. Specifically the NED/CIA's exploitation of young people across the world (and here at home?) to cause violence and destabilization in countries where our owners want access to potential profits. Time for another Church Committee in my estimation. Tag it onto the Epstein case if you have to.

Egypt Detains 5 Leftist Activists, Journalists for Planning Progressive Coalition in Election
from TeleSur
In the latest crackdown on dissent by the administration of Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi, five leftist and liberal activists were detained Tuesday.
According to the families, the police raided their homes in the early hours and took them to unknown locations. Among the detained were lawyer Ziad Eleimy, journalists Hisham Foad and Hossam Mones, economist Omar Shenety, and left-wing activist Osama Aqbwy.
Eleimy were arrested by plainclothed officers from his friend’s home. A former member of parliament, Eleimy was one of the prominent youth leaders of the 2011 Arab Spring.
Ford is a member of the Revolutionary Socialists movement. Shenety was detained Monday.
Journalist Ahmed Ragab and human rights defender Baheyy Din Hassan said the detained activists had recently met to discuss plans to run for next year’s parliamentary elections as a joint opposition coalition between leftist and liberal parties...

Multiple victims reported in shooting at California festival
from Press TV
A gunman killed at least three people at a California food festival on Sunday before being shot dead by police, and police were hunting for a second person they believed was involved in the killing.
Some 15 people were wounded during the mass shooting at the three-day Gilroy Garlic Festival in northern California, some of them hurt in the crush of bystanders trying to flee, police said.
Police reached the scene within a minute of the first shots ringing out at 5:45 p.m. and officers shot and killed the gunman moments later, according to Scot Smithee, who heads the Gilroy Police Department.
A second person, “was involved in some way, we just don’t know in what way,” Smithee said late on Sunday.

Israel, the US, and the PA succession conundrum (regime change Palestine)
from al Jazeera
Since the Trump administration took over in January 2017, pressure has mounted on Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas to resign. By now Washington clearly no longer wishes to deal with the Palestinian Authority (PA) under his leadership.
Senior White House adviser Jared Kushner recently called Abbas's decision to boycott the Bahrain workshop, where the economic side of Washington's peace plan was presented, "hysterical and erratic".
Meanwhile, various Israeli officials have also suggested that they are hoping for Abbas to leave office. Some, like former Foreign Minister Dore Gold, have gone as far as to claim that within the next six months, Palestinians themselves will demand a change of leadership.
The current Israeli government has been actively trying to destabilise the PA by pursuing various hostile measures, including blocking its access to $140m worth of tax revenue meant to help pay for salaries each month. This, along with cuts in US aid, have put Ramallah under increasing financial strain...

The U.S. Stunt In Hong Kong Will Make Other Issues More Difficult
from Moon of Alabama
The current attempt of a U.S. instigated color revolution in Hong Kong is failing:
The current attempt of a U.S. instigated color revolution in Hong Kong is failing:
Protesters wearing all black streamed through the Yuen Long area, even though police refused to grant permission for the march, citing risks of confrontations between demonstrators and local residents. By nightfall, protesters and police were once again facing off in the streets, as they've done previously during the summer-long pro-democracy protests in the Chinese territory. Demonstrators threw objects and ducked behind makeshift shields, and police officers shot plumes of tear gas into the air.In May the chief organizer of the demonstrations met with U.S. leaders:
U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo met with Hong Kong pro-democracy leader Martin Lee on Thursday, the State Department said, as Hong Kong activists seek to derail a proposed extradition law pushed by Beijing. “Secretary Pompeo expressed concern about the Hong Kong government’s proposed amendments to the Fugitive Ordinance law, which threaten Hong Kong’s rule of law,” the department said in a statement.Lee and other U.S. stooges organized large demonstrations against an extradition bill which would allow the government to send people who committed crimes in mainland China, Taiwan and Macau to those provinces where the crime was committed to receive their punishment. Hong Kong already has similar agreements with foreign countries.
Lee founded the first pro-democracy party in Hong Kong in 1990 and has been a prominent voice calling for civil liberties for the city’s residents.

The Left Wants to Impeach Trump for Doing What Obama and Clinton Voted for in 2006
So the left wants to impeach the president for doing what Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton and Chucky the Shoe voted for in 2006 huh? We are far over the rainbow now. Click your heels. See if that helps. I bet it wont.
The IDF is Still Committing Crimes Against Humanity (if anyone gives a shit any more)
by Scott Creighton
As the unDemocratic Party votes to help silence BDS activists here in the states and the Trumpites all jump on board the "go back to your country" bandwagon, Israel is steadily ramping up their war crimes destroying homes in the occupied lands of Palestine.
Folks wrap themselves in the feel good fabric of self righteous indignation as they clamor for more color revolution protests in Hong Kong and Puerto Rico while Palestinians are being shot, smothered with tear gas and having the IDF rain white phosphorus down on their fields adjacent to the ruble that used to be their homes.
Burning lawns and shattered lives. Insult to injury as no one takes notice. A scorched earth campaign in the dark.
And not a peep from the 'progressive' alternative echo chambers of the interwebs. They're too busy worried about how Saint Assange (rapist) is being treated in jail or how many Twitter accounts were shuttered this week.
How many have lost their lives since the Great March of Return began some 60 or so weeks ago? How many have lost their legs?
How many even care over here anymore?
The Israeli propaganda machine has done it's job. At a time when the rest of the world is aghast at the brutality and criminality of the Israeli REGIME, here in the states the word is mum for all fear the influence peddlers and the influential industrialists who pull their strings and pay their monthly stipend checks.
Over here, most have learned to go along to get along while Palestine is erased. We look the other way because it is politically expedient to become as morally ambiguous as the party to our right. Self preservation is, after all, the national religion of the neoliberal One Party of America.
Did Nero fiddle while Rome burned? Are we?
The four Trump told to 'go home' serve as examples. The power of The Lobby will not be denied. Trump boasts of all the illegal fetchin and stepin he does for his real RussiaGate handlers, AIPAC and the Likud Party, while the unDemocrats somberly nod their approval, voting for his corrupt appointees and his bloated, Reaganesque, austerity promoting budget.
And no one notices who is really behind all that child rape in Epstein's retched past. Those who do pretend like they don't.
The emperor's new clothes look marvelous don't they?
But here is what's going on today in Palestine in the hope that some people, albeit a few, still give a damn.

William Barr Promises 'a major sensational incident' to End Encryption Protections
"I think it is prudent to anticipate that a major incident may well occur at any time that will galvanize public opinion on these issues." William Barr July 23 2019
William Barr oversaw the very first mass communication collection program for the US government back in 1992. Mass surveillance of US citizens. Now he wants encryption companies to build a back door into their systems allowing for Big Government to spy on users in real time. All the while he feigns indignation at the FBI for spying on the Trump campaign.

US Chamber of Commerce and Raytheon Get Their Boy Mark Esper to Run the War Machine
Want to know why the real left refuses to support the Democratic Party? Here's your answer.
Want to know why Trump and the centrist Dems BOTH hate the real left? Here's your answer.
38 Democrats (the 'resistance') just voted in the Senate along with all 52 republicans to confirm Raytheon's and the U.S. Chamber of Commerce's Mark Esper as Donald Trump's Secretary of Defense. The corporate coup continues unabated. #BipartisanEffort2 #MakeSwampGreatAgain
Fake Progressive Tulsi Sides with Clinton and Trump Calling for Regime Change in Puerto Rico
(edit: I meant too say "Donald RUMSFELD" in 2002 pushing fake info, not "Donald TRUMP")
Whats happening in Puerto Rico is Disaster Capitalism pure and simple and the governor who they want out is trying to implement a new law which would give property owners legal documentation that would enable them to finally get the FEMA support they need to fix their homes.
But that's the LAST thing neoliberal want. They want that land and they want those poor Puerto Ricans the hell off it.
And Tulsi is on the side of Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton and the MSM on this one? Lets see how the likes of Niko House spin this one.

Iran's Seizing the Stena Impero Was NOT Retaliation
The Stena Impero was traveling through Iranian side of the Strait when it struck an Iranian fishing vessel. The fishing vessel requested assistance from the Impero which ignored them, turned off their tracking system and tried to exit the scene. So yes, the Iranians detained the tanker for violating any number of maritime laws not the least of which being they left another vessel crippled and in danger of sinking in the water. Ergo... no... this is not a 'tit for tat" retaliation for the illegal seizure of that Iranian tanker last week by the British.

What Was It All for For: Vets Have Finally Turned on America’s Endless Wars
by Maj. Danny Sjursen, USA (ret) from AntiWar
It is undoubtedly my favorite part of every wedding. That awkward, but strangely forthright moment when the preacher asks the crowd for any objections to the couple’s marriage. No one ever objects, of course, but it’s still a raw, if tense, moment. I just love it.
I suppose we had that ubiquitous ritual in mind back in 2007 when Keith – a close buddy and fellow officer – and I crafted our own plan of objection. The setting was Baghdad, Iraq, at the start of the “surge” and the climax of the bloody civil war the U.S. invasion had unleashed. Just twenty three years old and only eighteen months out of the academy, my clique of officers had already decided the war was a mess, shouldn’t have been fought, and couldn’t be won.
Me and Keith, though, were undoubtedly the most radical. We both just hated how our squadron’s colonel would hijack the memorial ceremonies held for dead troopers – including three of my own – and use the occasion of his inescapable speech to encourage we mourners to use the latest death as a reason to “rededicate ourselves to the mission and the people of Iraq.” The whole thing was as repulsive as it was repetitive...

Hidden in Plain Sight: The Shocking Origins of the Jeffrey Epstein Case
Epstein is only the latest incarnation of a much older, more extensive and sophisticated operation that offers a frightening window into how deeply tied the U.S. government is to the modern-day equivalents of organized crime.
by Whitney Webb, MintPress News
Despite his “sweetheart” deal and having seemingly evaded justice, billionaire sex offender Jeffrey Epstein was arrested earlier this month on federal charges for sex trafficking minors. Epstein’s arrest has again brought increased media attention to many of his famous friends, the current president among them.
Many questions have since been asked about how much Epstein’s famous friends knew of his activities and exactly what Epstein was up to. The latter arguably received the most attention after it was reported that Alex Acosta — who arranged Epstein’s “sweetheart” deal in 2008 and who recently resigned as Donald Trump’s Labor Secretary following Epstein’s arrest — claimed that the mysterious billionaire had worked for “intelligence.”
Other investigations have made it increasingly clear that Epstein was running a blackmail operation, as he had bugged the venues — whether at his New York mansion or Caribbean island getaway — with microphones and cameras to record the salacious interactions that transpired between his guests and the underage girls that Epstein exploited. Epstein appeared to have stored much of that blackmail in a safe on his private island...

Slavery without the Muss
by E.M. Cadwaladr American Thinker
A couple of years ago, I took a business trip to Coronado, California — a wealthy suburb of San Diego isolated on the far side of the bay. I'd never been to California. Coronado was not covered in heroin needles and human feces as parts of San Francisco and Los Angeles famously are. It was a well groomed, pretty patch of real estate by anybody's standards. Cool ocean breezes and gently swaying palm trees. Beautiful houses. Nice restaurants. Interesting shops. Still, I found an ugliness about it — a moral malady less obvious than street violence or an army of homeless beggars.
What I noticed, because I am from the Midwest, where such conditions don't pertain, was that practically all the people who drove taxis, stocked shelves, waited tables, maintained gardens, cleaned hotels, or had anything else to do with non-recreational physical activity...were brown-skinned Latinos. The people who owned the houses, ran the shops, or did anything that fell generally into the realm of "knowledge work" were overwhelmingly white or Asian.
Do not get me wrong. I am not about to whine the leftist whine. I do not for a minute believe that all persons of all kinds are equal in either potential or inclination. I have said as much. The facts of the world and of history are plain enough to anyone with a genuinely open mind. We are not all equal in our capacities. But there is something deeply disturbing about visiting a place where labor is so plainly segregated along racial lines. And it is all the worse when the people who own and run the place are so self-servingly dishonest about it. Waving at your gardener now and then doesn't magically give you egalitarian street cred. The contact between one human and another ought never to be made that cheap.
What we have in California is a sea of anonymous Latino workers who, by their very numbers, drive the going price of their labor down to a minimum. The more who are encouraged to cross the border, the more of a mere subhuman commodity they become. Most, I think, must live in fear of losing whatever menial jobs they have and falling back on the thin resources of the government or friends. They must be quietly desperate to please their masters. Well, let us say — their "fully woke employers." It is quite a system. No ugly whips or chains are necessary — just a large pool of people willing to accept any conditions better than the wretched ones they came from. Apparently, railing against the evils of capitalism on your patio with your well off progressive friends does not preclude the possibility of taking full advantage of Adam Smith's invisible hand of market forces. The invisibility part is the key ingredient here. It keeps the conscience calm and comfortable — cool in that pleasant ocean breeze that sweeps away that recurrent unpleasant odor of hypocrisy...

Washington to divert funds from Central America to support Venezuelan right-wing opposition
from Fort Russ News
The administration of President Donald Trump plans to divert more than $40 million initially earmarked for humanitarian aid in Central America to fund the Venezuelan opposition.
According to the newspaper The Los Angeles Times, in an internal memo obtained by The Times, dated July 11, the US Agency for International Development notified Congress that the money will go to Venezuela in response to an urgent crisis involves US national interests.
In particular, according to the memorandum, it is planned to channel US $41.9 million, originally intended to help Guatemala and Honduras, to finance Venezuelan opponent Juan Guaidó and his group, including wages, good governance, training, propaganda, technical assistance in elections and other projects, supposedly to build democracy.

Why Did Dershowitz and Cernovich Join Miami Herold Lawsuit? To Keep Some Documents Sealed
All credit to Lee Stranahan and Gilad Atzmon for this one.
Yes it seems Cernovich is simply involved so his mouthpiece can take a cue from Dersh and object to the release of documents that will be troubling to him. Dersh is there to do the same for various other guilty parties I'm sure. Dersh says he wanted all documents released. If that's the case why would he participate in the redaction approval process? Why would he get involved at all for that matter? After the Miami Herold expose it was clear the previous court rulings would be overturned. So why his he involved and why did they get Cernovich to sign on as well?

Epstein Case: Intelligence Industry Plays the Nuclear Option on Trump
In fear of an investigation into their efforts to thwart our democratic process in 2016, the intelligence community has decided to play their trump card. Pardon the pun. In Feb. they got a judge to toss plea deal for Epstein that had been on the books since 2008. No one suddenly found Jesus. The Mueller investigation fizzled and impeachment was off the table. There are no coincidences in politics. This is their nuclear option. Pure and simple.

'A Brutal Violation of Press Freedom': Glenn Greenwald Targeted With Investigation by Brazilian Government After Reporting on Corruption
from Common Dreams
The Brazilian government is targeting one of its biggest critics, journalist Glenn Greenwald, in a move that has been decried by observers as an intimidation tactic designed to stifle opposition to right-wing President Jair Bolsonaro.
The government's finance ministry's money laundering unit was asked by federal police to investigate Greenwald's finances, O Antagonista reported Tuesday. The right-wing Brazilian news site said that the investigation would focus on whether Greenwald paid for access to leaked records he used in reporting on the Bolsonaro government's "Operation Car Wash" sting...
Greenwald, co-founder of independent news organization The Intercept, published in the online magazine's Brazilian edition a number of investigations that use leaked documents to prove that the prosecution of former President Lula da Silva for corruption was steered by now Justice Minister Sergio Moro. The reporting has impacted Brazil's politics and thrown the Bolsonaro presidency into crisis...
"Criminally investigating journalist Glenn Greenwald for reporting on corruption within the Bolsonaro government is a shocking violation of his rights as a reporter," Timm said. "Worse, the same person who is the primary subject of The Intercept's reporting—Minister of Justice Sergio Moro—would also have ultimate authority over any Federal Police investigation."..
