Syrian Civilians Killed and Wounded due to Al-Nusra Front Shelling on Aleppo Neighborhoods

Seven people were killed and more than 30 others were injured on Thursday evening as a result of targeting Aleppo neighborhoods in northern Syria with homemade rockets and missiles by Al-Nusra Front militants.

Al-Nusra militants carried out their attacks from their positions in Al-Rashideen / 4 /area southwest of Aleppo city, where the shells hit Al-Jamailia, Al-Hamdaniya, Halap Al-Jadida , Al-Zebdieh, Al-Mashhad, Salah Al-Din and Al-A'zamiya neighborhoods.

Most of the casualties who reached hospitals were from Salah al-Din neighborhood in the south-east of the city, as the crowded popular market in the neighborhood was targeted, which also led to several fires in cars and houses. According to medical sources, an 8-year-old boy died along with three other adults as a result of being burned in a car that was hit directly by a missile.

Al-Nusra militants shelling continued for about 3 hours, after which the pace of the shells subsided in conjunction with Syrian Army intense targeting with rockets the positions of the militants in al-Rashideen area and the town of Khan al-Assal located in western Aleppo countryside.

The city of Aleppo recently has witnessed an increasing escalation by the militants of "Al-Nusra front" stationed in its surroundings through targeting residential neighborhoods with various types of shells, as was the case on Wednesday evening, which witnessed targeting Al-Hamdania, Aleppo...

OPCW Modified Chemical Weapons Report on Syria's Douma, Crucial Details Omitted

The Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) concluded in March that chlorine was most likely used in the suspected April 2018 attack on the city of Douma, which lies on the northeastern outskirts of the Syrian capital.

Three countries - the United States, the United Kingdom and France - carried out airstrikes against Syrian government targets, justifying their assault by claiming that the chemical weapons were allegedly used by the Syrian Army.

Wikileaks revealed that the OPCW's redacted version of the so-called fact-finding report on Douma's events had been intentionally doctored, misrepresenting the facts that the investigation team found on the ground in Syria after Western powers have attacked Syria.

According to the whistleblower organization, citing an e-mail sent by a member of an OPCW fact-finding mission to Syria to his superiors, this misrepresentation was achieved by selective omission, introducing a bias which undermines the credibility of the report....

A series of 16 audios in which opposition leaders call for a coup against the newly re-elected president Evo Morales were leaked through various social platforms.



Local media point out that the destabilizing plan would have been coordinated by the United States Embassy in Bolivia prior to the elections and cites US senators Ted Cruz and Marco Rubio, who are said to have direct contact with the Bolivian opposition in the strategy to overthrow Morales.

The plan focuses on the fact that if Evo Morales won the elections on October 20, a civil-military transition government would be established. The new government would allege fraud in the electoral process and would not recognize Morales' electoral victory.

In the audios filtered through social platforms opposition leaders call to burn structures of the government party and to put together a general strike throughout the country and to attack the Cuban Embassy in that country.

The publication of the audios arises in the midst of the political crisis following the electoral triumph of Evo Morales, whom the opposition accuses of committing fraud.

Weeks ago in a speech President Evo Morales had referred to alleged coup plans and that his government had the recordings. Neither the opposition nor the United States Embassy has referred to the leakage of the audios...

In 2017, the U.S. Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) created a special unit—the Iran Mission Center—to focus attention on the U.S. plans against Iran. The initiative for this unit came from CIA director John Brennan, who left his post as the Trump administration came into office. Brennan believed that the CIA needed to focus attention on what the United States sees as problem areas—North Korea and Iran, for instance. This predated the Trump administration.

Brennan’s successor—Mike Pompeo, who was CIA director for just over a year (until he was appointed U.S. Secretary of State)—continued this policy. The CIA’s Iran-related activity had been conducted in the Iran Operations Division (Persia House). This was a section with Iran specialists who built up knowledge about political and economic developments inside Iran and in the Iranian diaspora.

It bothered the hawks in Washington—as one official told me—that Persia House was filled with Iran specialists who had no special focus on regime change in Iran. Some of them, due to their long concentration on Iran, had developed sensitivity to the country. Trump’s people wanted a much more focused and belligerent group that would provide the kind of intelligence that tickled the fancy of his National Security Adviser John Bolton.

To head the Iran Mission Center, the CIA appointed Michael D’Andrea. D’Andrea was central to the post-9/11 interrogation program, and he ran the CIA’s Counterterrorism Center. Assassinations and torture were central to his approach...

CIA’s New ‘Iran Mission Center’ Created For Regime Change

The Trump administration placed Iran hawks in charge of its foreign policy. One of those hawks is Mike Pompeo, the director of the CIA. In June 2017, the Trump administration created the Iran Mission Center inside the CIA to escalate US actions in Iran. The Hill reported on new the anti-Iran infrastructure created by the Trump administration: “The organization, dubbed the Iran Mission Center, will include CIA analysts, personnel and specialists to support the CIA’s abilities on the matter, including covert action.”

The report on the new Iran escalation effort came after Trump visited Saudi Arabia and Israel in May, 2017. Trump said he wanted to work with the Saudis to “isolate” the Shia-majority nation. The OPCW and Douma: Chemical Weapons Watchdog Accused of Evidence-Tampering by Its Own Inspectors

Claims that President Bashar al-Assad’s forces have used chemical weapons are almost as old as the Syrian civil war itself. They have produced strong reactions, and none more so than in the case of the alleged attack in April last year on the opposition-controlled area of Douma near Damascus in which 43 people are said to have been killed by chlorine gas. The United States, Britain and France responded by launching airstrikes on targets in the Syrian capital.

Were the strikes justified? An inspector from the eight-member team sent to Douma has just come forward with disturbing allegations about the international watchdog, the Organisation for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons, which was tasked with obtaining and examining evidence.

Involved in collecting samples as well as drafting the OPCW’s interim report, he claims his evidence was suppressed and a new report was written by senior managers with assertions that contradicted his findings.

The inspector went public with his allegations at a recent all-day briefing in Brussels for people from several countries working in disarmament, international law, military operations, medicine and intelligence. They included Richard Falk, former UN special rapporteur on Palestine and Major-General John Holmes, a distinguished former commander of Britain’s special forces. A government-run magazine in China has run a report alleging that money was being paid to young people in Hong Kong to take part in rallies and clash with police.

Earlier this month, the Liaowang Weekly (瞭望周刊), a current affairs magazine owned by the People’s Daily, ran a report on its WeChat account based on a widely-circulated post about how much the marauding mobs of thugs and anarchists rampaging through Hong Kong could get from agents implanted by the United States as well as their local fixers.

The magazine claimed HK$30,000 (US$3,830) was the sum a teenager received from his “escort” after joining other youngsters in recent anti-government rallies that usually ended in running battles with the police in the protest-weary Hong Kong.

The naming of Stefan Halper as the individual sent by the FBI to spy on the Trump campaign during the 2016 election campaign has further inflamed the political warfare raging within the US state apparatus and political establishment. Halper is a long-time CIA asset with deep ties to US and British intelligence.

Published reports that the FBI had used a confidential informant to gather information on the Trump campaign led US President Donald Trump to announce via Twitter on Sunday, “I hereby demand, and will do so officially tomorrow, that the Department of Justice look into whether or not the FBI/DOJ infiltrated or surveilled the Trump Campaign for Political Purposes, and if any such demands or requests were made by people within the Obama Administration!”

Repeating his denunciation of the year-old probe by Robert Mueller, the special counsel who is investigating alleged Russian interference in the 2016 election and possible collusion by the Trump campaign, as a “witch hunt,” Trump declared last week that the report of FBI spying on his campaign was a political scandal “bigger than Watergate."

The identification of Halper—who was implicated as the leading figure in a conspiracy by intelligence agents to subvert then-President Jimmy Carter’s re-election campaign in 1980—as the covert FBI spy has been the subject of a heated debate in Washington and the media.

Both the New York Times and the Washington Post, the two papers of record for the US political establishment, have studiously observed the demands of the FBI to conceal Halper’s identity.
The Post reported that it was concealing the identity of the spy from the American people because of “warnings from US intelligence officials that exposing him could endanger him or his contacts.”…
Democrats have rallied behind the FBI’s defiance of congressional oversight. Leading Democrats have rushed to the defense of the intelligence agencies, denouncing Trump and Nunes for allegedly placing US security at risk.

Senator Mark Warner, the ranking Democrat on the Senate intelligence panel, appeared on the CBS News program “Face the Nation” Sunday—well after Halper’s identity as the FBI covert agent had already been revealed by a number of publications—to threaten that “when individuals want to try to reveal classified information about the identity of an FBI or CIA source, that is against the law.”...

Max Blumenthal has said “enough is enough” and taken his little pen and walked away from his staff position at Al Akhbar English over what he claims is their editorial tolerance of “Assad apologists”. According to Max in an article on his website explaining his decision to leave in a huff (The right to resist is universal: A farewell to Al Akhbar and Assad’s apologists)  “the apologia for Assad and his crimes has reached unbearable levels.”

I once had a great deal of respect for Max Blumenthal. His work on the Palestinian issue has been courageous to say the least. But now I have to say farewell to Max and remove his link from my blogroll. His disingenuous and downright dishonest efforts to prop-up the progressive Assad demonetization train turns my stomach and I will never be able to post a single thing he writes without having to question the man’s integrity.

Yeah, it’s that bad. Max Blumenthal is an outright liar. No one, and I mean NO ONE with his resources and experience in the Middle East could miss the boat so badly on this topic without doing so deliberately unless he was a total and complete idiot. And Max is not an idiot. He is however, the son of Sidney Blumenthal who was a long term adviser to Bill Clinton (during the destabilization of Yugoslavia as coincidence would have it) and then a campaign adviser to Hillary Clinton who expected to serve in her State Department before Rahm Emanuel put his foot down for some reason. Max’s daddy is also reportedly a close friend of Tony Blair. Just thought I would throw that in for good measure.

Yes, Max Blumenthal is a liar. And I will now show you how I came to that conclusion. As to the why, well… you be the judge.

Apparently the minders over at Wikileaks, a CIA honeypot, have decided there are certain things we as journalists are NOT ALLOWED too say about Saint Julian of Assange.

They claim the list itself is off the record and folks are not allowed to publish it. 

“Confidential legal communication. Not for publication.”

They sent out the list, unsolicited of course, to a number of outlets whom I guess they thought might traffic in these "smears" of the holy one, in hopes that their editorial staff will consider the litigious ramifications if they publish any of the 140 things they declare are off the table when it comes to discussing Julian.

You would expect most of them like "It is false and defamatory to suggest that Julian Assange is a rapist" and "It is false and defamatory to suggest that Julian Assange is, or has ever been, an agent or officer of any intelligence service"

Egypt’s security forces have arrested some 1,400 people in recent days in one of the largest crackdowns on political opponents in years, rights groups said, amid protests calling for President Abdel Fattah Al Sisi’s removal.

The protests began this past weekend in Cairo and other cities, representing one of the most serious challenges to Mr. Sisi’s autocratic rule since the former military chief came to power following a coup in 2013.

Mr. Sisi’s government has jailed thousands in an effort wipe out political opposition in recent years, but the arrests this week stood out due to the sheer number rounded up in a matter of days.
Amid calls for more demonstrations on Friday, the government has deployed security forces in central Cairo in the vicinity of Tahrir Square, which was the center of the protests that toppled former President Hosni Mubarak in 2011.

Among those arrested in the clampdown this week are protesters from around the country, leading opposition figures and academics, as well as a number of people who had no apparent connection to the protests.

Among them was Khaled Dawoud, a journalist and former head of the liberal Constitution Party, according to the Egyptian Center for Economic and Social Rights, a human-rights group that also confirmed the number of those arrested.

A government spokesman couldn’t be reached to comment. Egyptian officials haven’t commented on the arrests. Hundreds of those detained were referred to prosecutors, while the whereabouts and status of hundreds of others could not be determined. Some were later released. Egypt has laws banning protests and incitement against state institutions.

Some analysts said the detention of a number of people with no apparent connection to the protests suggested panic on the part of authorities ahead of the expected Friday protests.

“It’s a nervous breakdown by somebody who has clouded vision,” said Hisham Kassem, a prominent former newspaper editor and political analyst, referring to Mr. Sisi.

Among those detained in recent days was Mahinour El-Masry, a prominent human-rights lawyer from Alexandria, who was active in the 2011 uprising against Mr. Mubarak. Others arrested included two prominent political-science professors, Hassan Nafaa and Hazem Hosny. Mr. Hosny was involved in the campaign of a retired general who was arrested after attempting to challenge Mr. Sisi for the presidency in 2018...

It was once a British police station, as well as the Victoria Prison Compound. Hong Kong inhabitants used to tremble just from hearing its name mentioned. This is where people were detained, interrogated, humiliated, tortured and disappeared.

Now, after Hong Kong ‘returned to China’, it was converted into the Tai Kwun Center – one of the biggest and the most vibrant art institutions in Asia.

This transformation was symbolic, the same as the conversion of the former British-era slums into public parks has been symbolic.

But now, as the pro-Western and anti-Chinese treasonous hooligans are dividing and ruining this former U.K. colony, the old-colonialist flags of “British Hong Kong” are being waved alongside the flags of the United States, while Chinese flags are being humiliated, and thrown into the bay.

Rioters seem to remember nothing about those ‘good old times’ (according to them), when signs shamelessly declared: “No Dogs and Chinese”. As they seem to close both eyes and ignore the neo-colonialism and massacres, that both North America and Europe are constantly committing in all corners of the world.

Now, the citizens of Hong Kong are scared. Not of the “government”, not of the police, or Beijing: they are frightened of the so-called protesters, of ninja-like looking young people with covered faces and metal bars in their hands.

This Thanksgiving morn I wake to sadness for there is nothing to be thankful for, unless of course you are a brutal dictator who has served US interests for the past 33 years. If that is the case, then you are just smiling and clapping cus it’s payday in America!

In Saudi Arabia, a Yemeni dictator, a true dictator who neolibralized his nation on behalf of the international bankers and speculators at the cost of the well-being of 90% of his people, signed an agreement with the United States and other neoliberalized countries to officially step down and leave his country in ruin and enduring civil war.

The deal that our secretary of state brokered with the brutal dictator (after we tried to keep him in power with cruise missile strikes, CIA death squads, and drone warfare) includes and undisclosed amount of cash (probably mounds of stock options) and promises that he will not be prosecuted for crimes against humanity.

If there is an argument to be made that the United States is the biggest purveyor of terrorist activities across the world which we justify with the endless “Global War on Terror” (and that argument is not hard to make), what does that say about our “War on Drugs”? Look at just a few of the recent stories from the headlines and judge for yourself…

The Justice Department lied repeatedly about “gun walking” firearms to Mexican drug cartels – There was a policy in place at the highest levels in the ATF and the Justice Department to ship weapons to Mexican “drug cartels”.  This is at a time when violence in Mexico is at it’s highest level since the Spanish landed on their shores. In February the Assistant Attorney General wrote the following to an investigating body of congress; it was a complete fiction… a lie… and congress now has the emails to prove it.

“”ATF makes every effort to interdict weapons that have been purchased illegally and prevent their transportation into Mexico,” wrote Ronald Weich, assistant attorney general.” the Hill

Darrell Issa has backed off his calls for Eric Holder’s resignation. He basically states that since the program is institutional in the Department of Justice and has been since the Bush administration (yes, yet another Bush program the administration of CHANGE kept), holding Holder responsible would be pointless. If corruption existed before the new head took over and the new head of the department continues the same corruption and illegality, I guess he gets a pass. That’s what passes for logic these days.

I am going to propose a scenario for you. You ready? Here we go…

A video surfaces of an Occupy Wall Street protester sneaking up on a NYPD police armored personnel carrier on a calm winter morning, there is no combat, there is no action taking place at all…  and then he whips out a RPG and fires, point blank, taking out the cops in the carrier and putting at risk any civilians in the area with the threat of flying shrapnel and debris.

Let me ask you: do you think our MSM would show that video and then try to make those Occupy Wall Street protesters out to be heroes? Or, do you think that the MSM outlet, let’s say NBC, would consider that video is proof that Occupy Wall Street and the associated groups who support them are actually domestic terrorists?

Is there any real question as to how the story would be handled?  Of course not.

(More likely, here in America and certainly in New York, the REAL story would be that the NYPD Intelligence division got an informant to find a homeless guy who was a bit mentally ill and then framed him for the attack so that Bloomberg could look “tough on terror”)

Right now on MSNBC and NBC’s front pages is a video of just such an action. The only difference is it takes place in Homs and the ones firing the RPG are the “protesters” in Syria.

NBC portrays them as heroic for this act of terrorism. Like Lybia, this is the new “terrorist as heroes” meme being force-fed to the American public on a daily basis.

Look at these two images; one taken from the NBC story I just mentioned and the other is the cover of Time magazine depicting their choice for Man of the Year.

Edmund the bastard lays bare the excellent foppery of the world, that as we suffer from the our own misdeeds, we find ways to lay the blame elsewhere as if by some divine plan our fate was not of our own design. The Sun (al Qaeda), the Moon (Iraq), and the Stars (Iran) have now all been blamed for what was our own invention, all that we are evil in. Thus is the nature of whore-master man.
