No Kings Day - Tempered, Affected Resistance by the Rich full of Sound and Fury, Signifying Nothing

by Scott Creighton

The number we are being told is just under 7 million. Seven million people turned out yesterday for the nationwide (and even global) No Kings Day demonstration designed to remind TrumpyBear that he isn't a potentate, just merely an elected official who serves at the consent of the people.

So he reposted a video on Truth Social of himself flying a plane labeled King Trump, literally bombing the protesters with feces. Taking a shit on the people of the country because they don't share MAGA and Curtis Yarvin's opinion about turning America into a monarchy.

I'm not kidding.

The elites showing their contempt by shitting on the huddled masses. Could anything be more monarchist than that?

Oh but he's just trolling us they say. No he isn't. Just look at how his healthcare policies will harm his own MAGA base more than anyone else. He just doesn't care. We don't factor into their plans for the future and it doesn't matter to them which side of the fake WWE-style divide you support.

Besides, did you really vote for a president who spends his time 'trolling' and playing golf?

Seven million is a lot of people. Good turnout, as the saying goes.

But what does it mean if nothing, literally nothing comes of it?

Bill Nye (8 million net worth),  Pramila Jayapal (1.2 million dollars), Bernie Sanders (3 million dollars), Chris Murphy (1 million dollars) and Matthew Dunlap (22 million dollars) joined by celebrity millionaires and billionaires like Glenn Close, Robert De Niro, Jamie Lee Curtis, Spike Lee, Jimmy Kimmel, Ben Stiller, John Cusack and Ice T... they all came together to give rousing (?) speeches alongside various local candidates and officials to let the dirty masses, dressing in chicken costumes, know they 'care' about our plight and are there for us.

Pramila Javapal gave a stirring 17 minute speech which sounded like a WWE baby-face sucking up to the local crowd by repeating the name of the city they were in that night. She went on to rail about how she feels our pain and worries about us losing access to healthcare while she enjoys the best platinum plan in the country, at taxpayers' expense.

The most passionate part of her speech, the big rallying cry, came when she said we all love 'our immigrants' and they would 'have to come thru us to get them'

She was really reaching for the stars on that one. She stood silently waiting the applause afterward.

In the end, she hit em with the sales pitch... go to resistancelab.us to learn how to build the resistance, slowly but surely everyday... at her campaign website... where you can also donate to her next run for office and visit her fucking merch store

'sign up for our next virtual training course. the next one is tomorrow on immigration justice. I hope I see you there.' Jayapal

Yep. I get the feeling most of those things will be about getting Americans to come to the aid of illegals in this country who work for Big Business for half of what Americans do those jobs for.

Scattered applause on that one.

It was a campaign rally speech. Something her peeps will harvest come Nov 2026.

Was there any call for solid, physical action to be taken now in this moment?

No.

A call to the unions for a nationwide general strike?

No.

A suggestion that we Occupy Wall Street again or the Mall on Washington? Throw our bodies into the gears of the machine to save the Great Experiment of self governance?

No.

There was none of that.

Just a millionaire telling the plebes they are good and right and strong and powerful... now go home, go back to work... and vote harder next time.

Platitudes and a donation pitch disguised as some form of long term resistance and nothing more.

Bernie's was the same as was AOC's and Chris Murphy's.

Yesterday was, aside from the chance for us to remind ourselves that we are together in this and our numbers vastly surpass theirs', yesterday was a chance for the wealthy elites, some of them, those supposedly on our side, to come out and give voice to their tempered, affected resistance... full of sound and fury, signifying nothing (to borrow from the Bard)

Yesterday people across the country turned out to oppose the Heritage Foundation's Project 2025 plan to destroy this country and install a buffoon  king who takes orders from his worm-tongued mentor.

People wanted action. They wanted a plan. They showed up. Showed out. Made themselves be known. Didn't hide behind masks. Didn't cower in fear.

And what did they get? Half-assed, half-hearted stump speeches delivered like a middle school pep rally before 'the big game' by millionaires, celebrities and hangers on looking to grift the moment away.

It could be argued that stirring speeches designed to ignite the people would have served the fascists' interests. It could be argued that a civil war is exactly what they want.

And it could be argued that what we got yesterday was a designed pressure valve, bleeding off the anger and frustration so we could go another 4 months or so before needing another one while TrumpyBear and his wormtongued handlers decimate the country even more.

Take what you will from it. The results are the same.

Unless you want to donate to her campaign, her contribution was much ado about nothing (another heist) as was the rest of the No Kings day.

Wake me when a Eugene Debbs shows up.

or a Fidel.
