My Take on the 'Grand Betrayal' of the Senate Dems on Shutdown Vote

by Scott Creighton

While Secular Talk and Parkrose Permaculture rant and rave about the Dem 'betrayal' and the lost opportunity to help win a mid-term a year from now, keep these numbers in mind...

'Approximately 1.4 million federal employees are currently without pay due to the government shutdown, with about half furloughed and the other half working without pay. This total includes roughly 670,000 furloughed civilian employees and another 730,000 essential employees who continue to work but without a paycheck. Additionally, roughly 1.4 million active-duty military and reserve personnel may also miss paychecks

That's 2.8 million people who were suddenly facing potential foreclosure or eviction or repossession of their family vehicles or any number of other tragedies that befall the suddenly unemployed.

Fake leftist upper middle class hacks like Parkrose Permaculture and Secular Talk don't even factor in the suffering the Rethuglicans were inflicting on the people in order to get what they wanted. It's almost as if these leftie ghouls WANTED people to lose their homes as a result of this just so long as they could bring it up in the next election cycle.

But trust me, these influencers weren't suffering any losses as they urge congress to hold the line.

And then there is this:

' Approximately 42 million people who rely on the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) are at risk of losing or having their food stamp benefits delayed due to a government shutdown. This represents roughly one in eight people in the U.S., including about 16 million children...

This includes approximately 16 million children, 8 million older adults, and 4 million people with disabilities...'

16 million kids were at risk and are still at risk of going hungry in the wealthiest nation on the planet and these progressive partisan ideologues don't give a shit about their suffering just so long as they can keep the American people mad at the opposition party.

I told you on day 1 of this shutdown that they would keep it going as long as Russ Vought needed to cut more programs and fire more government employees and in the end, when it looked to hurt Big Business (now its Walmart and the airline companies) JUST ENOUGH DEMS would vote to get government back up and running with the manufactured crisis having served it's purpose... and that is exactly what has happened.

Am I psychic? No. They do it all the time. They do it every fucking year. Just this time, it lasted a lot longer with more at stake.

They were never going to win. The deal they took was on the table 3 weeks ago. Nothing has changed. It was all a show because the Centrist Corporate Dems are all on board with what Big Business and the Russ Vought coalition want to do to America.

You can't vote harder to fix it. You can't wait till next year. Get the workers back to work. Get people fed so kids and granny don't go hungry. Then organize a GENERAL STRIKE and another OCCUPY WALL STREET national protest. Go out and buy some YELLOW VESTS and come to understand NONE of the LARPers in congress have our best interests at heart.

In the end they are going to find some 'compromise' that allows the subsidies, in one form or another, to be paid out to Big Insurance.

Do you have any idea how many insurance companies will go belly up if that money is withheld because obviously most of the people on the ACA marketplace plans can't afford the vast increases in premiums so they will just cancel their policies... and Big Business will take the hit.

You and I both know for a FACT that American politicians wont let that happen. Ever.

There will probably be some kind of negotiation which will allow for them to use the threat of removing the subsidies, one more time, to get something like that guy wrote in the Op-Ed from the Wall Street Journal a month ago when he said what they really want is the subsidies to continue but with complete deregulation of the ACA marketplace policies, which will be nearly as bad as cutting them altogether. And let's see if that is what the endgame here really looks like. I would be it is.

It's 3:51am and I have my own financial crisis to worry about so I will leave this with this:

... it's not done yet. Debate and vote in Senate then back to the House where the Rethuglicans are still on extended vacation keeping the 218th signature from forcing the Trumpster's child-diddling sex-pics from being released to the public (remember that shit?) and then if it all goes thru... the diddler gets a vote.

So we will see.

It was going to happen this way however you look at it. It's a one party state, the Business Party.

Get people back to work, get food on the table for the kids and keep the subsidies going into Dec. long enough to get millions out on the streets and a General Strike on the union agenda.

Stop thinking you can get what you want nice and warm and toasty in your middle class suburban household by letting the working poor and FUCKING CHILDREN suffer... you fucks.

Get out on the street and do it yourselves.

Half measures avail us nothing... and neither does child sacrifice... you damn ghouls.
