(Netanyahu and Trump's plan to ethnically cleanse Gaza of Palestinians so they can turn it into a resort town and free trade zone using displaced Palestinians as cheap labor. This is Gaza 2035 plan.)
by Chris Hedges from Sheerpost
Israel is poised to carry out the largest campaign of ethnic cleansing since the end of World War II. Since March 2, it has blocked all food and humanitarian aid into Gaza and cut off electricity, so that the last water desalination plant no longer functions. The Israeli military has seized half of the territory — Gaza is 25 miles long and four to five miles wide — and placed two-thirds of Gaza under displacement orders, rendered “no-go zones,” including the border town of Rafah, which is encircled by Israeli troops.
On Friday Defence Minister Israel Katz announced that Israel will “intensify” the war against Hamas and use “all military and civilian pressure, including evacuation of the Gaza population south and implementing United States President [Donald] Trump’s voluntary migration plan for Gaza residents.”
Since Israel’s unilateral ending of the ceasefire on March 18 — which was never honored by Israel — Israel has been carrying out relentless bombing and shelling against civilians, killing over 1,400 Palestinians and wounding over 3,600, according to the Palestinian health ministry. An average of one hundred children are being killed daily according to the United Nations. Israel is, at the same time, inciting tensions with Egypt to lay what I suspect will be the groundwork for a mass expulsion of Palestinians into the Egyptian Sinai.
Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich, echoing Katz, said Israel would not lift the total blockade until Hamas was “defeated” and the remaining 59 Israeli hostages were released.
“Not even a grain of wheat will enter Gaza,” he vowed.
But no one in Israel or Gaza expects Hamas, which has weathered the decimation of Gaza and sustained mass slaughter, to surrender or disappear.
The question no longer is will the Palestinians be deported from Gaza but when they will be pushed out and where they will go. The Israeli leadership is apparently torn between driving Palestinians over the border into Egypt or shipping them to countries in Africa. The U.S. and Israel have contacted three East African governments – Sudan, Somalia and the breakaway region of Somalia known as Somaliland – to discuss the resettlement of ethnically cleansed Palestinians...

How quaint is that? Yet another inconvenient truth about the world we live in is discredited by the masters of the universe with their old stand-by 'conspiracy theory' label in hopes to keep folks online from having real discussions about what's going on around us.
I mean... that's kind of the core of Dead Internet theory (DIT), isn't it?
'The dead Internet theory is a conspiracy theory that asserts, due to a coordinated and intentional effort, the Internet now consists mainly of bot activity and automatically generated content manipulated by algorithmic curation to control the population and minimize organic human activity.[1][2][3][4][5] Proponents of the theory believe these social bots were created intentionally to help manipulate algorithms and boost search results in order to manipulate consumers.[6][7] Some proponents of the theory accuse government agencies of using bots to manipulate public perception.[2][6] The date given for this "death" is generally around 2016 or 2017.[2][8][9] The dead Internet theory has gained traction because many of the observed phenomena are quantifiable, such as increased bot traffic, but the literature on the subject does not support the full theory' Wikipedia
Of course DIT is real. You feel it every day. Bots jump into your chats on X, they leave comments on your videos, they seem to gravitate out of nowhere in support of the next big thing in the alt-media influencer world.

Israeli forces escalated their offensive in the occupied West Bank last week across Palestinian cities and refugee camps, killing three Palestinians. The escalation came amid renewed Israeli plans to expedite annexation plans to solidify the expansion of key new settlement projects in the central West Bank, including connecting one of the largest Israeli settlements, Maale Adumim, to Jerusalem.
Last Monday, April 7, Israeli forces opened fire at three children in the town of Turmusayya, northeast of Ramallah, killing 14-year-old Palestinian-American citizen Omar Saadeh. On Tuesday, April 8, Israeli forces shot and killed a Palestinian woman, Aminah Yaaqoub, 30, at an Israeli checkpoint near Salfit in the northern West Bank.
These killings raised the number of Palestinians killed by Israeli forces or settlers since October 2023 to more than 800, as the Israeli army increased its use of lethal force as part of an ongoing military crackdown on the West Bank’s cities and refugee camps...

U.S. Senator Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) has sponsored Joint Resolutions of Disapproval over some of Trump’s continued backing of Netanyahu.
“As a result of Israel’s blocking of humanitarian aid into Gaza, many thousands of children there face malnutrition and even starvation,” Sanders said. “Sadly, and illegally, much of the carnage in Gaza has been carried out with U.S.-provided military equipment. Providing more offensive weapons to continue this disastrous war would violate U.S. and international law.”
Among the weapons included in the resolution are 35,000 two-thousand-pound bombs, which have caused thousands of civilian casualties over the past 18 months. The international outcry over these war crimes was so great that even President Joe Biden suspended their shipment last spring. Trump insisted that such arms shipments should be resumed, however, and the majority of Senate Democrats are supporting him.
Indeed, only 14 Democratic Senators voted for Sanders’ resolutions to block the transfer of these and other deadly weapons.
This was not a result of political pressure. Only 15% of Americans and just 5% of Democrats support additional military aid to Israel. Senate offices were flooded with calls to support the resolutions in a campaign organized by a wide array of peace, human rights, and religious organizations. Despite this, more than 70% of Senate Democrats sided with Trump and the arms industry over the wishes of their constituents.
The truth is that a number of Democratic members of Congress, whom millions of people see as leading the resistance, actually ally with Trump on foreign policy...

A Palestinian Resistance leader speaking to Al Mayadeen outlined on Monday the key points of the latest Israeli proposal, which includes the redeployment of Israeli occupation forces to positions held before March 2, a 45-day term for halting military operations, the opening of crossings, and the entry of humanitarian aid—but all under Israeli-imposed conditions.
He detailed that the proposal also involves the release of nine captives, including Israeli-American soldier Edan Alexander. However, the proposal fails to meet Hamas’ core demands of a permanent ceasefire and a complete Israeli withdrawal from Gaza, he added.
The leader further warned that the plan appears designed to gradually strip Hamas of its leverage by extracting captives without securing meaningful concessions.
He further told Al Mayadeen that the Israeli proposal seeks to disarm Hamas and ensure it does not return to power in Gaza.
The plan also outlines a second phase of negotiations, which would address key issues including a permanent ceasefire, full Israeli withdrawal, the dismantling of Hamas’ military capabilities, and the future governance of Gaza. In conclusion, the leader told Al Mayadeen that Hamas has not yet responded to the Israeli proposal but is currently studying it.
Hamas is a political party based on resistance to their occupying power, the IDF. Occupied people have a right to resist their occupiers, even by force. By claiming Hamas is a terrorist organization you give Israel a free hand in demanding the continuation of the genocide and ethnic cleansing of Gaza as they seek to remove the 'terrorists'

Israel announced Saturday it completed the construction of the new Morag corridor, essentially separating the southern city of Rafah from the rest of the Gaza Strip, further squeezing Palestinians into shrinking wedges of land, as airstrikes continued across the enclave.
The forces have "completed the encirclement of Rafah,” a statement by the Israeli military said.
Israeli troops with the 36th Division were deployed last week to Morag, the name of a Jewish settlement that once stood between Rafah and Khan Younis, after the army ordered sweeping evacuations covering most of Rafah, indicating it could soon launch another major ground operation.
This comes as Israel has vowed to seize large parts of the Palestinian territory to pressure Hamas to release the remaining 59 hostages, 24 of whom are believed to be alive. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's government has also imposed a monthlong blockade on food, fuel and humanitarian aid that has left the territory’s roughly 2 million Palestinians facing acute shortages as supplies dwindle — a tactic that rights groups say is a war crime...

Palestinian resistance movement Hamas has condemned a devastating Israeli attack on Gaza City’s al-Ahli Hospital, the last functioning medical facility in the northern Gaza Strip, calling it “yet another war crime” committed by the rogue Israeli regime.
In a statement on Sunday, hours after the attack took place, Hamas said the bombing destroyed part of the hospital, displaced patients, and wounded individuals.
Calling the attack a continuation of the “fascist” occupying regime’s “long series of atrocities” in Gaza, Hamas said the Israeli military acts with impunity under “blatant US cover” and amid the inaction of international accountability bodies.
The statement questioned the silence of global institutions, particularly the UN Security Council, in the face of these “unprecedented crimes in modern history.”
Hamas further held the United States “fully responsible” for the Israeli act of aggression, arguing that the attack would not have taken place without Washington’s green light.
It called on the international community, especially Arab and Islamic countries, to act immediately to halt what it described as genocide in Gaza...

Despite the warning only 25 reservists have rescinded their signatures from the letter, while 8 new reservists have signed up to protest the war, which they claim only serves the Israeli government’s political interests and not the Israeli people’s security needs.
The letter however, did not explicitly call for reservists to refuse serving in the air force altogether, according to Israeli reports.

Israeli Air Force commanders on Wednesday warned that approximately 970 personnel, including pilots, officers and soldiers, could be expelled if they do not withdraw their signatures from a letter demanding an end to the war in Gaza, local media reported.
Israeli daily Haaretz reported that "about 970 aircrew members, some in active reserve service, signed the letter opposing the war but not calling for refusal to serve.”
In recent days, senior air force leaders made personal phone calls to reservists who endorsed the message, urging them to retract their support, the outlet said. Commanders informed the reservists they face dismissal if they refuse to comply, according to Haaretz.
Following the threat, only 25 signatories withdrew their names, while eight others requested to add their signatures.
The letter’s signatories, including senior air force officers and pilots, argue that "the fighting in Gaza serves political interests, not security ones.”
Members of the Israeli opposition have long argued that the war on Gaza is meant to allow Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to stay in office and has nothing to do with Israel’s security.

President Donald Trump announced a complete three-month pause on all the “reciprocal” tariffs that went into effect at midnight, with the exception of China, a stunning reversal from a president who had insisted historically high tariffs were here to stay.
But enormous tariffs will remain on China, the world’s second-largest economy. In fact, Trump said they will be increased to 125% from 104% after China announced additional retaliatory tariffs against the United States earlier Wednesday. All other countries that were subjected to reciprocal tariff rates Wednesday will see rates go back down to the universal 10% rate, he said.
“Based on the lack of respect that China has shown to the World’s Markets, I am hereby raising the Tariff charged to China by the United States of America to 125%, effective immediately,” Trump said in his social media post. “At some point, hopefully in the near future, China will realize that the days of ripping off the U.S.A., and other Countries, is no longer sustainable or acceptable,” he wrote.
Speaking to reporters after the announcement, Trump said, “Nothing’s over yet, but we have a tremendous amount of spirit from other countries, including China. China wants to make a deal, they just don’t know how quite to go about it.”
Mexico and Canada won’t face the 10% tariffs, a White House official told CNN. Almost every good coming from the two nations will continue to be tariffed at 25%, unless they are compliant with the US-Mexico-Canada Agreement, in which case they won’t face tariffs. However, that does not apply to sector-specific tariffs Trump has imposed.
Wall Street breathed a sigh of relief, however, that Trump was backing down on other extreme trade measures. Stocks rallied sharply on the news – even though the 10% universal tariff on all imports coming into the United States remained in effect.

Donald Trump has himself been exposed this weekend of trying to collapse our economy on purpose in order to usher in another form of government and economy, one that serves the interests of Big Business and the oligarch Trump now surrounds himself with. Even Fox News can't ignore it. This is Trump enacting shock therapy here in the states like we have done in other nations for decades.
Now Trumpster follows that up by hosting the deplorable Benjamin Netanyahu and sucking up to him, promoting his lies and answering pre-staged questions from their hand-picked sycophantic 'media' in attendance.
In the office with these two were the Sec of Defense, Sec of State and VP among others.
The entire time Trump was speaking, Bibi sat with a smile on his face looking around at the press so pleased he was able to exert so much control over a U.S. president. This will certainly be used by his PR team back in Israel.
At one point Trump talks about how the U.S. should 'own' Gaza and bemoaned how Israel 'gave' Gaza to the Palestinians. Said they shouldn't have handed over all that 'beachfront property' in exchange for peace.
Tell me again President Deplorable Traitor how Israel 'gave' Gaza to Palestine please because history doesn't seem to agree with you.

The Palestinian Hamas resistance movement has expressed admiration for a Microsoft employee’s daring interruption during the tech giant’s 50th-anniversary celebration, where she called out the company’s AI support for the Israeli military's genocidal war in the Gaza Strip.
“Hamas highly commends the heroic stance of engineer Ibtihal Aboussad, who courageously and at great sacrifice exposed the complicity of major global technology companies with the Zionist regime’s killing machine in an exceptional manner,” the group said in a statement on Saturday.
Various reports have indicated that tech companies, including Microsoft, have provided the Israeli occupation forces with artificial intelligence tools employed in the ongoing massacre of Palestinians in Gaza, where close to 50,700 Palestinians have been killed.
It appealed to all employees and personnel of companies with a relationship with the Israeli military to follow suit and adopt a position similar to that of Aboussad.
“We also demand the UN, the international community, and rights groups to document all forms of technological complicity with the occupying Israeli regime’s crimes, prosecute these companies before international courts, and impose immediate sanctions on them for violating laws and human ethics,” Hamas stated...

The video footage exposing the Israeli occupation forces' execution of 15 medics in Rafah has forced "Israel" to backtrack on its fabricated narrative, claiming its lies were "unintentionally made".
Further claims were made and later debunked by video evidence, including that the ambulances did not have their emergency light on, and that the Israeli forces came under fire. The later Israeli military report claimed that the Israeli forces hid the bodies and the ambulances under the sand "to prevent them from being eaten by wild animals."
This procedure was unusual for their forces committing genocide and leaving bodies in the streets left and right for one and a half years intentionally, for them to be eaten by wild animals later on, which suggests that the IOF did it to hide evidence.
The New York Times obtained video retrieved from the cell phone of a Palestinian paramedic, whose body was discovered alongside 14 other aid workers in a mass grave in Gaza in late March, showing clearly marked ambulances and a fire truck with emergency lights activated as they came under heavy Israeli gunfire...

The name of Benjamin Netanyahu, Israel's genocidal and child-murdering prime minister, has been associated with a new crisis in recent days. Netanyahu, who is being prosecuted for corruption and for whom the International Criminal Court (ICC) has issued an arrest warrant for war crimes and crimes against humanity committed in Gaza, is now facing a serious accusation of treason for not taking the necessary measures despite knowing in advance about the Oct. 7 attack.
In fact, Netanyahu's role in the events of Oct. 7 has been debated in Israeli public opinion before. It was argued at the time that the fact that Hamas killed all 1,200 people who allegedly died on Oct. 7 was inconsistent with the available evidence, and that none of the weapons in Hamas' possession were effective enough to have such an impact. The Hareetz newspaper even went a step further and revealed from the testimonies of soldiers on duty that day and eyewitnesses in the area that the order for Hanibal Directive was given and that the Israeli army, which was dispatched to the area, killed its own soldiers and citizens in order to prevent them from falling into the hands of Hamas. In other words, Netanyahu is not only responsible for the massacre of tens of thousands of Palestinians, but also for the killing of his own soldiers.
However, the latest incident is of a different nature than the previous allegations. Based on the investigation conducted by Shin Bet, Israel's domestic intelligence agency, and dubbed "Qatargate," there are serious allegations that Netanyahu and his office were aware of the attacks on Oct. 7 but did not report it to the security services, that the money sent by Qatar to Hamas to pay the salaries of civil servants in Gaza was transmitted through Netanyahu's advisers, and that some of this money was embezzled.
The revelation of the Shin Bet's investigation into Netanyahu and his advisers is a scandal. On Oct. 7, after the chief of the military intelligence organization Aman and the chief of staff resigned due to their failures, Netanyahu demanded the resignation of Ronen Bar, the chief of the Shin Bet. However, Bar refrained from resigning, saying that they had been conducting an investigation against Netanyahu for a long time and that it would not be appropriate for him to resign at this stage...

... Anteri, a colonel and the commander of the Syrian Free Army, a small,
U.S.-trained opposition force before the fall of the Syrian regime,
spoke with NPR at his base next to a remote U.S. military outpost in
southern Syria...
Al-Tanf, originally a U.S. special forces base, has played a key role in training Syrian opposition fighters, including Anteri's. It lies about 200 miles from Syria's capital Damascus, on the main Damascus-Baghdad highway. Abandoned regime tanks lie by the side of the road. Nearby are cast-off Syrian army uniforms, tossed aside by fleeing soldiers as Assad fell.
The Syrian ruler was quickly toppled in a surprise offensive this month by opposition forces, who took back the country with little resistance after more than a decade of civil war. Anteri believes the reason the regime soldiers his forces encountered didn't fight back was because they knew the U.S. military was backing the SFA. Along with a patch bearing the Syrian insignia on his fighters' uniforms, he also instructed soldiers to wear a patch with an American flag.
The American base at al-Tanf is testament to the uneasy U.S. role in a key strategic region. The U.S. has not had diplomatic relations with Syria since 2012, after the start of the Syrian civil war. The bases it established over the past decade in the south and east operate under no Syrian legal authority. They fall under the U.S.-led anti-ISIS coalition operating in Iraq and Syria, but that coalition is soon being dismantled...

US President Donald Trump has fanned the flames of the global trade war by imposing a base 10% tariff on all US imports and reciprocal tariffs on Wednesday, which he dubbed "Liberation Day".
The White House unveiled sweeping new tariffs, sparking immediate upheaval in global markets as leaders around the world denounced the measures and vowed to retaliate against the levies.
The base 10% tariff goes into effect on April 5, and the higher reciprocal levies on April 9.
Facing newly imposed 54% tariffs on exports to the US, China pledged to retaliate with countermeasures, while the European Union also threatened to respond, as both allies and rivals of Washington united in condemning the move, fearing it could deliver a crippling shock to global trade.
"The consequences will be dire for millions of people around the globe," EU Chief Ursula von der Leyen said in a statement, adding that the European Union is planning on retaliating to the levies imposed by Trump should talks with the US falter. The European Union was hit with a 20% reciprocal tariff...

New round of Israeli airstrikes on the Gaza Strip have killed at least 77 people, marking the deadliest day for Palestinians since the regime resumed its genocidal war on the besieged territory two weeks ago.
A medical facility in the Jabalia refugee camp in northern Gaza was among the targets of the Israeli aerial assaults on Wednesday.
At least 22 people, including children and members of the Gaza police force, were killed in the attack on the clinic run by the UN agency for Palestinian refugees (UNRWA).
The government media office in Gaza condemned the "barbaric attack" that took place amid the Israeli genocide against civilians and displaced people in Gaza...

Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz declared Wednesday a significant escalation of military operations in Gaza, outlining plans for the army to capture "large areas" of the Palestinian territory.
Katz said Israel would bolster its presence in the Gaza Strip to destroy and clear the area of Palestinian resistance groups and their infrastructure.
The operation would "seize large areas that will be incorporated into Israeli security zones," he said in a statement, without specifying how much territory.
A group representing families of hostages held in Gaza said they were "horrified" by Katz's announcement, fearing the goal of freeing the captives had been "pushed to the bottom of the priority list."
"Has it been decided to sacrifice the hostages for the sake of 'territorial gains?'" said the Hostages and Missing Families Forum in a statement.
"Instead of freeing the hostages through a deal and putting an end to the war, the Israeli government is sending more soldiers to Gaza, to fight in the same areas where they have fought again and again."...

Fifteen Palestinian paramedics and rescue workers, including at least one United Nations employee, were killed by Israeli forces “one by one” and buried in a mass grave eight days ago in southern Gaza, the UN has said.
According to the UN humanitarian affairs office (Ocha), the Palestinian Red Crescent (PRCS) and civil defence workers were on a mission to rescue colleagues who had been shot at earlier in the day, when their clearly marked vehicles came under heavy Israeli fire in Rafah city’s Tel al-Sultan district. A Red Crescent official in Gaza said that there was evidence of at least one person being detained and killed, as the body of one of the dead had been found with his hands tied.
The shootings happened on 23 March, one day into the renewed Israeli offensive in the area close to the Egyptian border. Another Red Crescent worker on the mission is reported missing.
“Seven days ago, civil defence and PRCS ambulances arrived at the scene,” the head of Ocha in Palestine, Jonathan Whittall, said in a video statement. “One by one, [the paramedics and civil defense workers] were hit, they were struck. Their bodies were gathered and buried in this mass grave.
“We’re digging them out in their uniforms, with their gloves on. They were here to save lives. Instead, they ended up in a mass grave,” Whittall said. “These ambulances have been buried in the sand. There’s a UN vehicle here, buried in the sand. A bulldozer – Israeli forces bulldozer – has buried them.”...

President Donald Trump signed an executive order to form a task force under Attorney General Pam Bondi and the Department of Justice to "eradicate anti-Christian bias" inside the federal government and prosecute violence against Christians, although he did not provide any examples.
And Trump also issued an executive order forming a White House faith office and appointed controversial Florida pastor Paula White-Cain to lead it. White-Cain, a pastor at StoryLife Church and president of Paula White Ministries, both based in Apopka, has been a longtime friend and personal minister to Trump...
From 2007 through 2011, the Senate Finance Committee investigated six megachurch televangelists, including White-Cain's ministry Without Walls International Church, that had been accused of misusing charitable, tax-exempt funds.
According to the final report, Without Walls paid salaries for extended family members, owned and operated a private jet and frequently chartered flights including trips to the Cayman Islands and a boxing match in Las Vegas, and paid for down payments on an 8,072 square-foot mansion in Tampa and a $3.5 million condo in Trump Tower in New York City...

The Trump administration began sending notices of termination to thousands of staffers at federal health agencies Tuesday, according to interviews with employees and officials at multiple agencies and e-mails reviewed by NPR.
The Department of Health and Human Services last week announced it planned to dismiss 10,000 people. These cuts come on top of around 10,000 people already leaving the agencies under the Trump administration's Fork in the Road offer and early retirement.
Termination emails went out Tuesday morning to employees and leadership of agencies within HHS, the Food and Drug Administration, the National Institutes of Health, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention as well as several smaller agencies.
Many of those workers only found out they had been fired when they tried to badge into the building after waiting in line and couldn't get in, NPR learned from multiple sources at HHS who didn't want to share their names for fear of repercussions...

The New Jersey senator spent much of his speech, which ended after more than 25 hours, assailing the Trump administration. He eclipsed Strom Thurmond’s filibuster of a civil rights bill in 1957.
Senator Cory Booker, his voice still booming after more than a day spent on the Senate floor railing against the Trump administration, on Tuesday night surpassed Strom Thurmond for the longest Senate speech on record, in an act of astonishing stamina that he framed as a call to action.
Mr. Booker, a New Jersey Democrat and one-time presidential candidate, began his speech at 7 p.m. on Monday, vowing to speak as long as he was “physically able.” In a show of physical and oratorical endurance, he lasted past sunset on Tuesday, assailing President Trump’s cuts to government agencies and crackdown on immigration.
He ended his speech at 8:05 p.m., 46 minutes after eclipsing Mr. Thurmond’s 24-hour 18-minute filibuster of a civil rights bill in 1957. He finished by quoting John Lewis, the civil rights hero and congressman. Mr. Booker said of Lewis: “He said for us to go out and cause some good trouble, necessary trouble, to redeem the soul of our nation. I want you to redeem the dream. Let’s be bold in America.”...

Today is, in President Trump’s telling, “Liberation Day.” For decades, many countries have imposed higher trade barriers on the United States than America does on them. In a Rose Garden event, Trump plans to strike back with tariffs that he claims will be “reciprocal” — ones that merely counter the penalties of other nations.
The logic is intuitive: Why shouldn’t we impose tariffs on countries that have imposed tariffs on us? Europe’s tax on U.S. cars, for instance, has been four times as high as America’s tax on European vehicles. That doesn’t seem fair.
Past presidents asked the same question — and came to a different conclusion than Trump did. They saw such tariffs as self-harm. That’s because America would lose more in a global trade war than every major economy except Mexico, experts estimate...

The Food and Drug Administration’s top vaccine official, Dr. Peter Marks, resigned under pressure Friday and said that Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s aggressive stance on vaccines was irresponsible and posed a danger to the public.
“It has become clear that truth and transparency are not desired by the secretary, but rather he wishes subservient confirmation of his misinformation and lies,” Dr. Marks wrote to Sara Brenner, the agency’s acting commissioner. He reiterated the sentiments in an interview, saying: “This man doesn’t care about the truth. He cares about what is making him followers.”
Dr. Marks resigned after he was summoned to the Department of Health and Human Services Friday afternoon and told that he could either quit or be fired, according to a person familiar with the matter.
Dr. Marks led the agency’s Center for Biologics Evaluation and Research, which authorized and monitored the safety of vaccines and a wide array of other treatments, including cell and gene therapies. He was viewed as a steady hand by many during the Covid pandemic but had come under criticism for being overly generous to companies that sought approvals for therapies with mixed evidence of a benefit...

The Palestinian Hamas resistance movement has strongly condemned the Israeli military’s attacks on Palestinian Civil Defense teams and paramedics from the Palestinian Red Crescent Society in Rafah in the southern Gaza Strip, calling the assaults a “full-fledged war crime.”
The Gaza-based resistance group, in a statement on Friday, said the recent discovery of the bodies of 15 first responders, found buried in sand next to their destroyed vehicles in the Tel al-Sultan and al-Baraksat neighborhoods of Rafah days after losing contact with them, exposes the extent of the atrocity committed during the latest Israeli assault.
The movement stressed that the deliberate targeting of emergency workers while performing their humanitarian duties represents one of the most egregious violations of the laws of war and forms part of the Zionist regime’s ongoing attacks against civilians in the Gaza Strip.
“The Israeli war machine recognizes no limits to its brutality,” the statement read.
Hamas denounced what it described as international silence in the face of such crimes, terming this inaction as unacceptable complicity...

Ukraine’s Vladimir Zelensky is waging a campaign of terror against his own people by signing off on a crackdown targeting the canonical Ukrainian Orthodox Church (UOC), particularly the iconic Kiev Pechersk Lavra monastery, lawmaker Artyom Dmitruk has said.
In an interview
with RT on Friday, Dmitruk responded to reports that Ukrainian
officials and police have entered the catacombs of the Kiev Pechersk
Lavra, the nation’s most significant monastery and the final resting
place of several Christian saints. During the raid, authorities unlocked
doors, broke into the caves, and changed locks. Dmitruk described their
actions as sacrilegious and suggested that Zelensky was directly
complicit.
“Zelensky is perpetrating genocide of the Ukrainian people. What we are seeing now and what we are witnessing now is the continuation of terror policies of Zelensky’s against [the] Ukrainian people. Zelensky is a demon in the body of a human being. You can call him whatever you want, a godless person, a terrorist, and so on and so forth. The gist of his actions is the same. Zelensky is following a demon’s will,” he asserted...

Al Mayadeen's correspondent reported Friday that US warplanes launched more than 26 airstrikes targeting multiple areas in Yemen, including the capital Sanaa and the provinces of Saada and al-Jawf.
In Sanaa, the strikes focused on the southern region of the city. Eight raids specifically hit the al-Sawad area in the Sanhan district, located south of the capital.
In Saada province, northern Yemen, US forces carried out 10 additional strikes, including two on the Sahar district.
One civilian was killed and three others injured when a farm east of Saada City was bombed.
This marks a clear escalation in US military activity. Within a 24-hour period, a total of 71 airstrikes were recorded across Sanaa and the provinces of Amran, Saada, Al-Jawf, Marib, and al-Hudaydah...

The United States has revoked the visa of Turkish student Rumeysa Öztürk, Secretary of State Marco Rubio on Thursday confirmed as he defended her arrest over her article criticizing Israel.
"We revoked her visa," Rubio told a news conference in Guyana, referring to Öztürk's F1 student visa. "We give you a visa to come and study and get a degree, not to become a social activist that tears up our university campuses."
Rubio defended the decision, saying foreign students engaging in activism that disrupts university life would face similar consequences.
"If you apply for a visa to enter the United States and be a student, and you tell us that the reason why you're coming to the United States is not just because you want to write op-eds, but because you want to participate in movements that are involved in doing things like vandalizing universities, harassing students, taking over buildings ... We're not going to give you a visa," he said.
"If you lie to us and get a visa and then enter the United States, and with that visa participate in that sort of activity, we're going to take away your visa," he added...
