(The official line is that they were shooting at drones above the palace but that doesn't explain the troops being deployed on the streets and at local stores plus some report that the gunfire started inside Miraflores. There were also early reports of a plane leaving Caracas in a rush. At this point we don't know what happened overnight but things seem to have calmed down since.)

Reports of fresh gunfire and explosions surfaced from Caracas, Venezuela, on Monday, hours after Vice President Delcy Rodriguez took oath as the interim president after the arrest of President Nicolas Maduro by the United States.
Locals shared videos that showed armed individuals near the Miraflores presidential palace. Sounds of explosions and gunfire can be heard. CNN reports that it is unclear what the gunfire and explosions are related to.
