The Israeli Jewish Perspective

by Scott Creighton

"Pride goeth before destruction, and an haughty spirit before a fall"

How does this guy not think this attitude of his isn't making more antisemitism? The epitome of  Jewish supremacy and the Greater Israel project. I mean, after all...

This is the problem and these are the people we are supposed to support no matter what they do.

It's bizarre.

If someone said that they deserve all of this or that land belonging to someone else because they are (Muslim, Christian, Buddhist, Hindu, Satanist, atheist, Wicca or anything else) we would rightly ostracize them for being a hateful bigot...

... but Jewish people?

Jewish people we are expected to either forget all about attitudes like this being held by so many or we have to agree with them.

It's insanity.

It's also not cannon:

The concept that the Jewish people should not recreate the state of Israel before the Messiah comes is not directly in the Torah (the first five books of the Bible), but is based on a Talmudic interpretation of the "Three Oaths". These oaths, often discussed by anti-Zionist Orthodox groups, suggest a divine prohibition against returning to the land by force.
Key aspects of this issue include:
  • The Three Oaths: Based on the Talmud in Ketubot 111a, these vows decree that Israel should not re-establish their nation "in a wall" (en masse/by force), should not rebel against other nations, and that nations should not oppress Israel excessively.
  • Rabbinic Interpretation: Historically, some rabbis, especially in the 19th and early 20th centuries, argued that creating a state before the Messianic era violates these oaths, arguing that the true return must be miraculously facilitated by God.

Maybe they understood even back then the potential ramifications of what Israel's Likud government is doing now. Maybe they understood it would isolate Israel and Jewish people by extension, making them the subject of derision and fear.

Maybe they simply understood they would be better off trying to live with people rather than thinking they were born to rule over them. A free people don't take that kind of attitude lightly or well.

Either way, outright Jewish supremacy is not a good look for their brand but many of them adhere to this ideology. They should rethink that... I mean... the warnings are everywhere:

"Pride goeth before destruction, and an haughty spirit before a fall"
