The acting leader of the Social Security Administration reportedly instructed managers earlier this week to draw up plans for a 50% cut to the agency's workforce, a push that advocates and lawmakers said would result in the gutting or total closure of local field offices—and likely benefit disruptions.
The American Prospect first reported the request from Leland Dudek, whom Trump installed as SSA commissioner earlier this month after the agency's former head resigned following a clash with Elon Musk's deputies over their attempts to access highly sensitive personal data. At the time he was elevated to the helm of SSA, Dudek was under investigation for allegedly sharing information with Musk's team improperly.
According to the Prospect, the deadline for SSA managers to comply with Dudek's request for mass-firing plans was Wednesday afternoon.
"The decision could target one of the government's most prominent public-facing initiatives: SSA field offices, where seniors, people with disabilities, and survivors whose parents have died can sign up for benefits and get information," the outlet noted. "In an email to the Prospect, SSA would not confirm any reductions in its workforce beyond the abolition of two small internal offices announced this week... After a long day of arm-twisting and internal party clashes, House Republicans on Tuesday narrowly passed their plan to advance President Donald Trump's legislative agenda.
The GOP plan was passed by a vote of 217-215, after House Speaker Mike Johnson, R-La., had to convince several Republican holdouts including Reps. Victoria Spartz of Indiana, Tim Burchett of Tennessee and Warren Davidson of Ohio to come on board with the proposal.
After the House plan passed on Tuesday night, Trump congratulated Johnson.
"Big First Step Win for Speaker Mike Johnson, and AMERICA. Now let’s start to BALANCE THE BUDGET. IT CAN BE DONE!!!" he wrote in a Truth Social post on Wednesday morning.
The House's plan would set up a massive reconciliation bill that would extend Trump's 2017 tax cuts and implement new ones at a cost of $4.5 trillion over the next decade.
It would also allocate $300 billion for spending on defense and border security, raise the debt ceiling by $4 trillion over two years, and add almost $3 trillion to the federal deficit over 10 years.
The budget blueprint would also direct multiple committees to cut billions of dollars, including $880 billion in cuts spearheaded by the Energy and Commerce Committee. Because Trump has ruled out cuts to Medicare and Social Security, budget experts say that may necessitate cuts to Medicaid, which is under the committee's jurisdiction...

Attorney General Pam Bondi said in a recent interview that the Department of Justice (DOJ) is hoping to release flight logs and the names of people tied to disgraced financier and convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein on Thursday.
“I think tomorrow, Jesse, breaking news right now … you’re going to see some Epstein information being released, by my office,” Bondi told Fox News’s Jesse Waters late Wednesday.
Bondi, who was confirmed as attorney general at the beginning of this month, added that there are over 250 victims whose identities need to be protected when releasing the documents.
She noted that the public will see a “lot of flight logs, a lot of names (but not ALL of them)… a lot of information. But it’s pretty sick what that man did.”
Last week, Bondi said Epstein’s alleged “client list” was in her office pending review.

Türkiye will not accept U.S. President Donald Trump’s plan to take over Gaza and forcibly displace its people, Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan said Wednesday, urging his proposal not to be taken seriously.
Trump has repeatedly proposed emptying war-ravaged Gaza of Palestinians.
He has floated the idea of a U.S. takeover of Gaza under which its Palestinian population would be relocated – a proposal met with widespread condemnation but welcomed by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

What followed was nothing less insulting including little Muslim children walking around with big golden balloons of Trump's head and dancing Hamas fighters dresses up in belly-dancer garb.
As the video appears to be celebrating the Gaza 2035 plan of Bibi's, it is clearly insulting and provocative to the Palestinians in that area who are already suffering immensely as Israel commits genocide and ethnic cleansing on them.

More than 20 civil service employees resigned Tuesday from billionaire Trump adviser Elon Musk’s Department of Government Efficiency, saying they were refusing to use their technical expertise to “dismantle critical public services.”
“We swore to serve the American people and uphold our oath to the Constitution across presidential administrations,” the 21 staffers wrote in a joint resignation letter, a copy of which was obtained by The Associated Press. “However, it has become clear that we can no longer honor those commitments.”
The employees also warned that many of those enlisted by Musk to help him slash the size of the federal government under President Donald Trump’s administration were political ideologues who did not have the necessary skills or experience for the task ahead of them.
The mass resignation of engineers, data scientists and product managers is a temporary setback for Musk and the Republican president’s tech-driven purge of the federal workforce. It comes amid a flurry of court challenges that have sought to stall, stop or unwind their efforts to fire or coerce thousands of government workers out of jobs.

A group of private military contractors have pitched an army of private citizens to arrest immigrants and camps to detain them, according to a proposal provided to Donald Trump's administration and reviewed by Politico.
The group, which includes former Blackwater founder Erik Prince and former military and law enforcement officials, submitted a 26-page blueprint to Trump advisers before his inauguration, estimating a $25 billion price tag to support the president’s “mass deportation operation” to swiftly remove 12 million people from the United States by 2026.
Prince was also joined by Bill Mathews, another former chief operating officer at Blackwater, the private military contractor tied to the 2007 massacre of 17 Iraqi civilians, including two children, which also wounded 20 others. Moscow has accepted Belgrade's explanation for mistakenly voting in favor of an anti-Russian resolution on Ukraine at the UN on Monday, presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov has said. Serbia has had traditionally close ties with Russia.
Peskov was responding to questions about Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic’s apology for the error, attributing it to being “tired and overwhelmed.”
“We have certainly heard [the explanation] and certainly accepted it. Indeed, technical mistakes happen. And of course, we appreciate such a prompt reaction from the head of state,” Peskov told reporters on Tuesday.
Two competing resolutions on Ukraine were submitted to mark the 3rd year of the conflict, one initiated by Kiev and its EU backers, which condemned Russia.
The other, US-backed text, which avoided branding Russia as an aggressor and called for a “swift end” to the conflict, was later tabled at the UN Security Council, where it passed with 10 votes in favor, with backing from Moscow and Washington and five abstentions from European members...

John McCain who currently chairs the Senate Armed Services Committee. Little will dilute his mighty, righteous wrath which he wields like a faith healer does a bible. All he wants is to send your kids to fight, maim and kill on behalf of his friend’s business interests all across the world. Is that too much to ask?
We are chastised by trolls if we don’t respect the authenticity of the of the obviously fake Muath Al-Kaseasbeh video and collectively rally in a whirlwind of rabid nationalism to rid the world of the “barbaric” and “inhuman” scourge that is ‘ISIS’ a.k.a. “the Bad Muslims”
We “witnessed” the burning of a pilot who had just dropped bombs on civilians and combatants alike in Syria, but that is of no consequence. Man’s inhumanity to man was on full display as the stuntman danced around in a pretend cage that couldn’t have held a 6-year-old child in “timeout” for longer than a minute. The MTV inspired video targeted an MTV generation with an MTV simplicity and banality that makes sense only to those rendered institutionally incapable of discerning reality from fiction. Incapable of thinking for themselves.
Be repulsed. Be angry. Support the war effort as endless as it is.

The film opens up following a Ukrainian death squad, called a “punitive Battalion”, made up of ultra-right nationalists and Western mercs. They invade a home and take a prisoner, presumably some dissident who has spoken out against the illegal regime in Kiev (one of them says “go ahead. Open you mouth now”) He is beaten, hooded, loaded into the back of a truck and disappeared down a lonely street. This scene is repeated often in westernized (neoliberalized) Ukraine.
The indiscriminate shelling of villages and towns by the Kiev government is a war crime and a crime against humanity. And remember, it was all brought to these people because their leadership dared to reject a proposal to join the European Union. Remember, the color revolution featuring neo-Nazi thugs, was brought to you by the President Peace Prize administration on behalf of Big Business and Banking.
At one point two captured government soldiers are interviewed by the resistance fighters. They tell their captors that their commanding officers made it clear that if they refuse to fight, they will do 30 years in prison for treason.
The media in neoliberalized Ukraine are showing photos of the demolished cities in the separatist east claiming that the rebels are firing on their own cities when they are surrounded and have no place to go.
The video, after the break, is an hour and a half long documentary. Many of the videos have never been shown on the MSM here in the states or in Europe or Russia either for that matter. It is not overly dramatic nor needlessly gruesome but there are some sections that are difficult to watch.

The other day the IMF approved a 17 billion dollar “loan” for the neolibral oligarchs in Ukraine. All they had to do was hike up the cost of fuel by 50%, freeze the minimum wage, increase taxes significantly (and open the markets to outside institutions, etc etc etc)… and viciously attack Ukrainian civilians who don’t recognize our technocrat-led illegal regime in Kiev. That’s not much of a price to pay, is it?

Yesterday I wrote about our puppet technocrat in Ukraine taking his marching orders from the IMF and setting up death squads, what he calls “territorial defense battalions”, which will be made up of “trained” military assets (probably the Greystone Limited mercs) and “patriots” like the fascist neo-Nazi Right Sector thugs who have already been murdering and terrorizing the people of eastern Ukraine.
I pointed out that many times in the past, the CIA has been there to help brutal dictators repress the opposition of their own people by setting up death squads, watch-lists, arranging kidnappings, torture and generally terrorizing the indigenous population into complicit submission to the will of the Masters of the Universe.
A new report out of Germany suggests they are up to their old bloody tricks, “the worst sort of behavior” in Ukraine.

President Donald Trump is taking aim at the US Postal Service.
According to a Thursday report from the Washington Post‘s Jacob Bogage, the president plans to fire the members of USPS’ board and hand the keys to the agency over to the Department of Commerce.
Trump plans to make the move through executive order as early as this week, the Post reports. The board reportedly intends to take the administration to court if Trump carries out the firings or tries to take control, with postal experts telling the Washington Post that absorbing the independent agency would likely violate federal law. A White House spokesperson later denied the report.
After his re-election, Trump discussed privatizing the Postal Service with Howard Lutnick—later confirmed as Commerce Secretary—at his Mar-a-Lago resort in Florida, according to a separate Post article from December.
But Trump’s new target is actually an old one. During his first term, the White House pushed to break up and sell off the Post Office—one of the most favorably viewed government agencies—in a 2018 plan: “A privatized Postal Service would,” among other things, “make business decisions free from political interference.”...

Israeli troops were ordered to shoot and kill captive Israeli civilians on 7 October 2023, Israel’s then defense minister admitted this week.
The order to carry out Israel’s so-called Hannibal Directive was issued “tactically” and “in various places” next to Gaza, Yoav Gallant told Israel’s Channel 12 on Thursday. “In other places it was not given, and that is a problem,” he continued.
Questioning Gallant, journalist Amit Segal clarified for viewers that “the Hannibal Directive says to shoot to kill when there is a vehicle containing an Israeli hostage” – a characterization Gallant did not contest.
Gallant was speaking in his first interview with Israeli television since being fired in November.

Contrary to Gallant’s statement that the Hannibal Directive was unevenly applied in different areas, Israeli newspaper Yediot Ahronot reported in January 2024 that at midday on 7 October, an unambiguous order was given from the high command of the Israeli military to invoke the Hannibal Directive across the entire region.
The order came “even if this means the endangerment or harming of the lives of civilians in the region, including the captives themselves,” Israeli journalists Ronen Bergman and Yoav Zitun reported.
In July, Israeli newspaper Haaretz reported that the order “not a single vehicle can return to Gaza” was issued to the Gaza Division of the Israeli military at 11:22 am that day.
But Gallant’s new statement is highly significant, as the first public admission by a contemporary Israeli minister that their troops were ordered to fire on their own people on 7 October...

On Sunday, a 27-year-old Jewish man in Miami Beach named Mordechai Brafman, shot 17 rounds at a father and his son, Yarin and Ari Rabi because he believed “they were Palestinian.” Brafman’s social media profile seems to indicate an interest in Jewish vigilante groups and he thought he had killed them but they were only wounded. And it turned out that the two were actually Israeli tourists.
The story then had another bizarre twist: the son who had been shot, Ari Rabi, posted on social media that he was a victim of attempted murder for antisemitic reasons – a post which was later deleted:
“My father and I experienced attempted murder on antisemitic background. They tried to murder us in the heart of Miami, but God is with us, so it didn’t workout for him. I want to say thank you to everyone for the support and that we don’t take it for granted. Am Israel chai
[the people of Israel live]. Death to Arabs
”.
So Brafman wanted the death of the two Israelis because he thought they were Palestinian, and one of the victims wanted “death to Arabs” (read: Palestinians) because he thought he was targeted for being a Jew.
The call for “death to Arabs” has basically been sanitized from Israeli media reporting. In an interview on Israeli Channel 13, Wednesday, the father and the son were asked:
“When you found out that he was Jewish, the shooter, and the reason he shot…”
Yarin, the father: “We didn’t find out immediately that he’s Jewish, only after we went to the FBI offices, then we realized it’s a Jewish guy.” ...

Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic declared on Saturday that the ongoing protests in Serbia were an attempted "color revolution" orchestrated by foreign influences but insisted that it had failed and that Serbia had prevailed.
Speaking at a Statehood Day event in the Serbian western town of Sremska Mitrovica, Vucic accused international organizations, such as USAID, of funding efforts to destabilize the country and vowed that Serbia would recover from the damage caused.

The recent violent demonstrations in Hong Kong (HK) against an extradition bill are the latest psychological operation (psyop) in what Sino-analyst Jeff J. Brown of the China Rising blog calls the Big Lie Propaganda Machine (BLPM). The BPLM comprises manufactured hoaxes in mainstream narratives about 1989’s Tiananmen Square, 2014’s “Umbrella Revolution,” the Social Credit Score, etc. They usually involve CIA (euphemistically called Capitalism’s Invisible Army) assets posing as Chinese dissidents. Among them include Muslim Uyghurs, Falun Gong & its various associated franchises, the Dalai Lama & Tibetan Buddhists, & Nobel Peace Prize winner Liu Xiaobo. There’s even a dissident connection, including artist Ai Weiwei, to CIA assets Edward Snowden & Julian Assange along with the WikiLeaks “honeypot.”
These latest events in HK are just more of the same from the CIA & its non-governmental organization (NGO) front, the National Endowment for “Democracy” (NED). Along with its sister NGO, “Freedom” House (FH), NED has funded groups to undermine HK’s connection as a Special Administrative Region (SAR) in the “one country, two systems” model agreed upon when the UK handed HK back to the People’s Republic of China (PRC) on July 1, 1997, after over 150 years of colonial rule. There are even the “usual suspects,” especially Joshua Wong, who played their part in the 2014 HK “protests.”
Fascism. A world taken back to the glory days of the robber barons and Captains of Industry when workers were shit and the eating was good for the wealthy and their sycophants. Is that really the populism Trump promised his followers? I think not. and oh yeah, Elon is just the front man.

Competing rallies were held in Serbia on Saturday, February 15th, Statehood Day, which celebrates the Balkan country's 19th-century independence movement against the Ottoman Empire. Aleksandar Vucic, who 1st took office as president in 2017, defiantly stated that the color revolution, which Western foreign NGOs have orchestrated, has failed (see video at end of article) He specifically accused the U.S. State Department's USAID (often used as a CIA front), CIA regime-change NGO National Endowment for "Democracy" & its EU counterpart of orchestrating the protests & manipulating young people.
Vucic has seen such protests against his government & other destabilization campaigns in the country ever since his election as president. A constant theme has been the usual "corruption" accusation, hurled at all leaders who don't always bow obediently to Western business interests. In Western MSM, he's portrayed as too "pro-Russian" (pro-Putin), but Serbia's always traditionally had close ties to Russia.
The Serbian leader has been attempting a balancing act between East & West, seemingly maintaining good relations with the USA & EU while refusing to impose sanctions on Russia over the West's proxy war in Ukraine. The only flights now between the West & Russia are through the Serbian capital, Belgrade, & Istanbul, Turkey. Moreover, over 100 thousand Russians & thousands more Ukrainians have been living in Serbia since the war began. This anti-Putin element has often had a destabilizing effect, with obvious Western assets among them making matters worse.

The Deputy Head of Hezbollah’s Political Council, Mahmoud Qomati, reaffirmed on Saturday the party’s rejection of any US dominance over Lebanon, stressing that “patience has its limits.”
In a speech delivered at a protest site near Beirut Airport Road, which was called for by Hezbollah against foreign interference in the country's affairs, Qomati stated that “the Lebanese state remains under US diktats, and we do not accept that this nation be under American and Israeli control.”
He added that “the ban on Iranian planes landing at Beirut Airport is an insult to the Lebanese state and confirms the imposition of US conditions on it.” He further emphasized that “Iran is a friendly state” and that Hezbollah “will not accept foreign diktats.”

More than 70 civil rights organizations and advocacy groups have urged US President Donald Trump to abandon his plan to take over the Gaza Strip and forcibly relocate Palestinians to neighboring countries like Jordan and Egypt.
In a letter sent to Trump, the signatories expressed “deep concern” over his recent proposals concerning the expulsion of nearly two million Palestinians from their homeland.
They urged the incumbent US administration to build on previous diplomatic efforts that led to a ceasefire in Gaza rather than to pursue policies that could destabilize the West Asia region.
“Put simply, the ethnic cleansing and US occupation of Gaza would spark a massive backlash in the Arab and Muslim world, drain American resources by entangling the US military in new forever wars, and make the peaceful establishment of a Palestinian state impossible, leading to even more conflict in the region,” the civil rights groups wrote in the letter publicized on Friday.
Among the signatories were the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), American Muslims for Palestine (AMP), CODEPINK, Peace Action, and the US Council of Muslim Organizations (USCMO), as well as numerous other organizations and advocacy groups.

More aid has finally entered Gaza following a tense showdown between Israel and Hamas that threatened the ceasefire deal concluded in January.
Ever since the inauguration of Donald Trump as US president and his declared plan to "clean out" two million Palestinians from Gaza and "own it", alongside accusations by Hamas that Israel has failed to stick to the terms of the agreement, the ceasefire has been under threat.
After Hamas called on Israel to keep to the terms of the deal if it wanted the next tranche of captives released on Saturday as planned, Trump threatened that “all hell will break loose” unless all the living captives were released instead.
Israel then warned of a "new Gaza war of another intensity altogether" that would "allow the realisation of Trump's vision for Gaza".

Israel has conducted a fresh drone attack on the Jenin refugee camp, as the Palestinian foreign ministry urges the international community to take a serious action to stop the regime’s intensified aggression on the occupied West Bank.
In the early hours of Friday, media reports said an Israeli drone targeted homes in the Jenin camp in the northern part of the West Bank.
Since a ceasefire in Gaza was announced last month, Israel has intensified its attacks in Jenin and other parts of the occupied West Bank.
At least 25 Palestinians have been killed in Israel’s raids in Jenin this year, which have also displaced nearly 20,000, according to the camp’s media committee.

A proposal by the Trump administration to reduce the size of grants for institutions conducting medical research would have far-reaching effects, and not just for elite universities and the coastal states where many are located.
Also at risk could be grants from the National Institutes of Health to numerous hospitals that conduct clinical research on major diseases, and to state universities across the country. North Carolina, Missouri and Pennsylvania could face disproportionate losses, because of the concentration of medical research in those states.
In the 2024 fiscal year, the N.I.H. spent at least $32 billion on nearly 60,000 grants, including medical research in areas like cancer, genetics and infectious disease. Of that, $23 billion went to “direct” research costs, such as microscopes and researchers’ salaries, according to an Upshot analysis of N.I.H. grant data.
The other $9 billion went to the institutions’ overhead, or “indirect costs,” which can include laboratory upkeep, utility bills, administrative staff and access to hazardous materials disposal, all of which research institutions say is essential to making research possible.
The N.I.H. proposal, which has been put on hold by a federal court, aims to reduce funding for those indirect costs to a set 15 percent rate that the administration says would save about $4 billion a year...
