A ‘constitutional loophole’: How phone inspections test US civil rights

from al Jazeera

Travelling is a normal part of life for Michigan lawyer Amir Makled. As recently as December, he went overseas and returned home to the United States without any issues.

“I’ve been out of the country at least 20 times. I’ve been all over Europe. I go to Lebanon every year,” he said.

But returning this month to the Detroit Metro Airport was a very different experience.

He and his family had just come home from a spring-break holiday in the Dominican Republic when they reached a customs checkpoint.

“The agent looked over at me and then looked to another agent and asked him if the TTRT agents are here. I didn’t know what this meant.”

He googled the acronym. It stands for Tactical Terrorist Response Teams.

“As an Arab American and as a Muslim American, whenever I’m travelling, even if I’m driving in from Canada, I feel some sort of anxiety about it, that I’m going to be randomly selected to be stopped or profiled,” he explained.

“When he said those words, I thought: ‘OK, I’m going to be profiled here.'”

Sure enough, Makled and his family were asked to go to another room...

Zelensky openly threatening Victory Day terrorist attack – Moscow

(To appease the Nazis in Ukraine and across the Western World, Zelensky threatens to attack Russia as they celebrate the historic victory over... the Nazis. And yeah, he's on OUR SIDE. lol. What world)

from RT

Ukraine’s Vladimir Zelensky has openly threatened to target the Victory Day parade in Moscow on May 9, according to Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova.

Russia has announced a unilateral three-day ceasefire next week to coincide with the celebration commemorating the defeat of Nazi Germany in World War II. Kiev has rebuked the move, instead demanding an immediate unconditional 30-day truce.

On Tuesday, Zelensky described targeting Russian “pressure points” to push the country “towards diplomacy” as he reiterated the ceasefire call.

“They are now concerned that their parade is in jeopardy and rightly so,” he remarked, referring to the event scheduled for May 9 in Red Square. “What they should worry about is that this war continues.”

Zakharova reacted on social media on Wednesday, asking what kind of truce Kiev can offer, given that the Zelensky government “is literally planning terrorist attacks on air.” She added that boasting about such intentions “is exactly what typical terrorists do.”...

Smotrich: Israel will not stop until Gazans displaced, Syria partitioned

(As Daniella Weiss says Israel has no ambitions in the Middle East. Yeah right. This is Greater Israel in a nutshell right in your face.)

from PressTV

Extremist finance minister Bezalel Smotrich says Israel will only stop its invasion of Gaza when “hundreds of thousands” of Palestinians are forcibly displaced and Syria is dismembered as a state.

“We will end this campaign …when Gaza is cleansed of Hamas and hundreds of thousands of Gazans are on their way out of it to other countries,” he said in the occupied West Bank on Tuesday.

His remarks underscore the Israeli regime's obstinance to carry out the forced displacement of Palestinians from the Gaza Strip, first suggested by US President Donald Trump.

Emboldened by the announcement, Israel resumed its war on Gaza in March, breaching a brief ceasefire brokered by the US. It has since been pummeling Gaza, practically making the territory uninhabitable in an apparent bid to force Palestinians to leave it.

For the past 50 days, Israel has prevented humanitarian aid from entering Gaza, where hundreds of civilians have been killed in intensified attacks.

The occupying regime has also lobbied countries to accept forcibly displaced Palestinians, even though the Israeli plans do not appear to stop there.

In his remarks, Smotrich called for the Lebanese resistance movement Hezbollah to be “severely beaten,” suggesting that Israel is set to keep its forces in southern Lebanon.

He also called for Syria to be dismembered as a state, despite de-facto leader Abu Mohammad al-Julani's overtures not to threaten Israel and even hinting at potential normalization with the regime.

'Be patient,' says Trump as US economy shrinks 0.3% in Q1

from Daily Sabah

The U.S. economy shrank in the first quarter, the first drop in three years, official data showed on Wednesday, weighed down by a deluge of goods imported by businesses eager to avoid higher costs, underscoring the disruptive nature of President Donald Trump's often chaotic tariff policy.

Gross domestic product (GDP) contracted at a 0.3% annualized rate from January through March, the Commerce Department's Bureau of Economic Analysis said in its advance estimate.

Minutes after the release of the data, Trump said Americans should be patient, arguing that his tariffs would eventually lead to a boom in the U.S. economy.

The January-March drop in gross domestic product – the nation's output of goods and services – reversed a 2.4% gain in the last three months of 2024...

UPDATE: 3:22 mark of this video talks about Chinese exporters deciding to withhold products from U.S. markets and just before that it talks about China making arrangements to sell to other nations. Trump says 'disruptors' at GOP town hall events should be 'immediately ejected': 'Troublemakers'

('REAL party loyalists LOVE BIG BROTHER and would NEVER say anything negative about our stunning new fascist agenda! If they say something bad in public, maybe they need to be REEDUCATED!' The Glorious One)

from Yahoo News

President Donald Trump on Sunday called on Republicans to respond to "disruptors and troublemakers" at town halls by having them "immediately ejected," after protests and heated exchanges at some of these events hosted by GOP lawmakers.

Trump alleged that "Radical Left Democrats" are "paying a fortune to have people infiltrate" the town halls held by Republicans in Congress.

"These Great Patriot Politicians should not treat them nicely," Trump wrote on Truth Social. "Have them immediately ejected from the room – They are disruptors and troublemakers."

The president said GOP lawmakers need to quell the idea that the event disruptors are Republican dissidents unhappy with the actions and policies pushed by his administration and the party...

Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, R-Ga., hosted a town hall earlier this month in which at least six people were removed. Three of the people escorted out of the event were arrested, including two whom police used stun guns to apprehend...

Canada election 2025 live: Mark Carney vows ‘Trump will never break us’ after historic election win

(Congrats Canada! You have your very own Barack Obama-style fake lefty leader i.e.:  Harvard Boys, Bank of Canada, Bank of England, Goldman Sachs, Bloomberg L.P., 1998 Russian Financial Crisis, carbon credit scam,

'Carney was chairman of the Bank for International Settlements' Committee on the Global Financial System from July 2010 until January 2012.

Carney was a member of the Group of Thirty, an international body of leading financiers and academics, and of the Foundation Board of the World Economic Forum. Carney attended the annual meetings of the Bilderberg Group in 2011, 2012 and 2019 ..

On November 26, 2012, Chancellor of the Exchequer George Osborne announced the appointment of Carney as Governor of the Bank of England

In 2020, Carney launched the Taskforce on Scaling Voluntary Carbon Markets—an initiative to increase trading of voluntary carbon offsets ...'

Yep. Congrats Canada. You have your own BIS leader now, a WEF insider and pure neoliberal free marketeer to pretend to combat The Trumpening.)

from the Independent

Prime minister Mark Carney’s Liberal Party has won Canada's federal election, which was dominated by Donald Trump’s trade war and came in the aftermath of a deadly car-ramming attack in Vancouver.

The Liberals are projected to win more of Parliament's 343 seats than the Conservatives, led by Pierre Poilievre, though they look set to fall short of an outright majority.

In a victory speech in Ottawa, Carney declared that "President Trump is trying to break us so America can own us. That will never — that will never, ever happen."

“We are over the shock of the American betrayal, but we should never forget the lessons,” he said, referring to the American president's threats to Canada's economy and its sovereignty, suggesting it should become the 51st state of the US.

Mr Poilievre, a populist firebrand who campaigned with Trump-like bravado, congratulated Mr Carney, saying the Conservatives will “do our job to hold the government to account”...

It’s All Out in the Open

from Consortium News

Donald Trump is committing genocide for Israel after publicly admitting to being bought and owned by the Adelsons.  All the worst shit happens right out in the open.

You don’t need to come up with any elaborate conspiracy theories to see it. It’s right there, completely unhidden.

It’s not hidden, it’s just spun. Disguised by the propaganda of the mass media who frame this holocaust as a war of defense in response to a terrorist attack while constantly diverting our attention to other far less significant issues.

It says so much about the power of the imperial propaganda machine that Trump could openly admit to having been fully controlled by Adelson cash on the campaign trail, get elected, and then facilitate a blatant extermination campaign in Gaza while aggressively stomping out free speech that is critical of Israel throughout the United States — and somehow not have this be the main thing that everyone talks about all the time.

It is only because our minds are being forcefully manipulated by the powerful at mass scale that this has been the case...

After Federal Cuts, Food Banks Scrounge and Scrimp

(The poorest and the weakest will pay the price for Trump's glorious giveaway to America's richest corporations and billionaires. It's a fucking sick world we live in. Fucking sick.)

from the NYT

Sara Busse needed to make a hot meal for 40 needy seniors. She had promised a main dish, a starch, a vegetable, a fruit and a dessert.

In the past, she had gotten many of those ingredients for free from the U.S. Department of Agriculture.

This time, she had dried cranberries, crackers and vegetable soup.

“What am I supposed to do?” she said. “What am I supposed to cook?”

Earlier this year, the Trump administration cut about $1 billion in federal aid to anti-hunger groups, according to the national advocacy group Feeding America.

That put more pressure on charitable organizations that distribute groceries or meals to hold up their corner of the American safety net, dipping into reserves and scrounging for donations to replace the food they had lost.

Ms. Busse’s charity in the shadow of West Virginia’s Capitol illustrates this struggle in miniature. Trinity’s Table serves meals at a senior gathering, a child-care center and a women’s shelter, all to people living in or near poverty. For many of her clients, Ms. Busse said, this may be the heartiest meal of the week — and perhaps the only one of the day...

Vancouver festival attack suspect was ‘known’ to police, apologized to crowd as they detained him after deadly rampage

(Seems like it was just a horrible accident caused by a mentally challenged individual. I'm sure the Monties and local law enforcement WANT to paint it as 'terrorism' so they can get more money and more toys in their budget this year.)

(Couple years ago some druggie scored up the street and was rushing to get back home to use and hit a dip in the road at the intersection half a block away. She panicked, jammed the accelerator thinking it was the break and swerved all the way down here side swiping cars and eventually t-boning my neighbor's car so hard it shoved it into a telephone pole breaking it. Sometimes people just freak out and panic for whatever reason. Drugs, disability, whatever. Sounds like that may be the case here.)

police identified the suspect as Kai-Ji Adam Lo )

from the New York Post

... The attack does not seem to be terror-related, Rai added, explaining that the suspect was “known” to police and because of a “history” of mental health-related incident – but that no political or religious ideations had ever been reported.

That history included a “significant” number of interactions with police over mental health episodes, along with a history of interactions with “health-care professionals related to mental health,” Rai said.

But there had been no interaction with the suspect “immediately leading up to this event,” police said.

The suspect was apprehended after his car came to a halt in the middle of the street with its front end obliterated and a trail of bodies lying in its wake.

Footage circulating on social media shows a man being held up against a fence by police as crowds berate him – and saying “I’m sorry” as he covers his face...

New Details Emerge on Trump Officials’ Sprint to Gut Consumer Bureau Staff

from the NYT

Two weeks ago, a three-judge panel from the federal appeals court in Washington lifted a freeze on firing employees at the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, with some conditions. The judges, ruling on a Friday night, said that workers could be fired if agency leaders determined, after a careful assessment, that they were not needed to carry out the bureau’s legally required responsibilities.

Within hours, Trump administration officials — working closely with Elon Musk’s associates at the Department of Government Efficiency — scurried to fire nearly all the agency’s employees. By the following Thursday afternoon, bureau leaders sent termination notices to nearly 1,500 employees, retaining barely 200 people, and ordered that the fired workers’ access to agency systems be shut down the next day.

A judge has again stopped the cuts for now. But the details of what happened at the agency, which oversees banks and lenders and enforces consumer protection laws, will be vital to determining if the firings can proceed. Hundreds of pages of newly released agency records, supplemented by narrative accounts filed in court by more than 20 agency employees, were submitted ahead of a hearing this week before Judge Amy Berman Jackson of the Federal District Court in Washington.

Judge Jackson halted the planned firings less than a day after the notices went out, saying that they went far beyond what the appeals court had allowed. Starting Tuesday, she will hold a two-day hearing to take witness testimony and decide whether to extend her order blocking the firings...

Russia’s Unconditional Talks Offer Exposes Zelensky’s Diplomatic Machinations — Ex-Pentagon Analyst

from Sputnik (H/T Aletho News)

“The unconditional nature offered by Russia is smart, and it places the onus on Zelensky to come forward similarly — but because Zelensky cannot do this and remain in power, he increasingly appears weak and not interested in peace,” Lt. Col. Karen Kwiatkowski, retired US Air Force, told Sputnik.

"If this continues, US aid to Ukraine will dry up completely, including intelligence support — and Zelensky understands this, but politically he is in a vise. Because not to engage directly in the face of an unconditional peace talk is to sabotage the chance of peace for Ukraine," Kwiatkowski said.

Zelensky has previously stated that Ukraine will not engage in peace talks unless a ceasefire deal is first reached.

“The Ukrainian conditions are unrealistic given the balance of power between Russia and the NATO alliance over the case of Ukraine. But to save face among the remaining few Ukrainians who trust Zelensky and Zelensky’s own government backers who are driven by emotion rather than reality, to talk peace unconditionally is in fact very similar to an unconditional surrender,” Kwiatkowski added.

Turkish FM calls forcing Israel into peace

(The other day Israel's foreign minister was screeching about how Iran causes all the problems in the world and said that Glorious Israel is on the front lines defending the world from da ebil Iranians... she had been asked about Israel's nukes. She also snuck in a dig at Turkey saying they are doing the same thing and that Israel 'has no ambitions'... This morning the NYT published an op ed from the editorial staff about how ebil Erdogan needs to be regime changed for democracy and liberty and all that jazz. For folks out there still demonizing Turkey and Erdogan from the fake alt-left... you will be known by the company you keep.)

from Daily Sabah

At a news conference with his Qatari counterpart Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani in Doha on Sunday, Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan reiterated Ankara's support for Palestinians, expressing hope for swift aid delivery to Gaza. Fidan said Hamas was ready for truce in the Palestinian enclave and now Israel should be forced to accept peace.

He emphasized that Palestinian resistance movement was open to a lasting solution and Israel should take steps accordingly too.

Fidan also spoke about presence of YPG, an offshoot of terrorist group PKK, in Syria. He underlined that the group should either accept being "left out of the system in Syria as Daesh did" or they would bear the consequences. He urged YPG to accept ending its presence in post-Assad Syria "in peace."

What is Lapu-Lapu Day? Filipinos shocked by festival tragedy in Vancouver

from Reuters

Thousands of Filipinos in Vancouver were celebrating Lapu-Lapu Day on Saturday, marking a defining moment in Philippine history, when tragedy struck - a vehicle drove into the crowd killing multiple people and injuring others.

The festival, celebrated especially in the central Philippines, honours Datu Lapu-Lapu, the Filipino chieftain who famously defeated Spanish forces led by Ferdinand Magellan in the Battle of Mactan in 1521 and became a national hero.

The centrepiece of the festivities in Vancouver is a multi-block street party in the Sunset neighbourhood featuring Filipino food and traditions, live performances and cultural displays. The party on Saturday was just starting to break up but many people were still in the streets when a dark SUV rammed into the crowd.

Police said they were investigating a mass casualty incident and had arrested a 30-year-old Vancouver man at the scene, but did not immediately give the number of fatalities or injured.

"We pray that our community remains strong and resilient imbued with the spirit of bayanihan (community spirit) during this difficult time," The Philippine consulate in Vancouver said in a statement...

9 people killed after SUV rams into Vancouver street festival

from CBC

Nine people have been killed and multiple others injured after the driver of a black SUV slammed into a crowd Saturday evening at a street festival in Vancouver celebrating the contributions of the Filipino-Canadian community, police say.

It happened shortly after 8 p.m. near East 41st Avenue and Fraser Street, where the Lapu Lapu Day Block Party was winding down, after drawing up to 100,000 people through the day.

Interim Vancouver Police Chief Steve Rai says a 30-year-old Vancouver man is now in custody.

Vancouver Coastal Health told The Canadian Press it had confirmed a "code orange," indicating a mass casualty event. The health authority was not able to confirm the number of injured or dead as of late Saturday night, but shortly after 3 a.m. local time Sunday, Vancouver police said on social media that there were nine fatalities...

How much has Elon Musk's Doge cut from US government spending?

from the BBC

... In October, Mr Musk pledged to cut "at least $2 trillion" from the federal government budget. He subsequently halved this target and on 10 April talked about making savings of $150bn from "cutting fraud and waste" by the end of the next financial year in 2026.

The US federal budget for the last financial year was $6.75tn.

Doge publishes a running total of its estimated savings on its website - which stood at $160bn the last time the site was updated on 20 April.

However, less than 40% of this figure is broken down into individual savings.

We downloaded the data from the Doge website on 23 April and added up the total claimed savings from contracts, grants and leases.

Our analysis found only about half of these itemised savings had a link to a document or other form of evidence...

Our Cuban Missile Crisis Moment Approaches: How Do You Think The Crazies Will Do?

In '62 reasonable men found a way to avoid nuclear winter and bringing about the end of our species. Today as Israel-firsters salivate at the idea of war with Iran for the good of Greater Israel, I wonder how reasonable the idiots running this country right now can be. I'm guessing... not so much.

Pancreatic Cancer and Covid-19 'Vaccines'

by Scott Creighton

On Feb 22 2025 I published Telomeres, Cancer, MRNA Vaccines and the Epigenetic Reprogramming of Aging in which I laid out my theory as to how the mRNA 'vaccines' are actually attempts toward epigenetic reprogramming of aging by lengthening the telemeres in our DNA which control the age-span of our cells. They also help prevent out of control replication of cancerous cells by allowing them to simply outlive their potential lifespan via the depletion of those same telemeres.

'Cancer cells as they first develop as mutated genes can, by our own DNA (seemingly designed into the process of cell life), start to shorten their own telomeres which will kill the cells and stop the growth of the cancerous cells on their own.

'As a cell begins to become cancerous, it divides more often, and its telomeres become very short. If its telomeres get too short, the cell may die' Google AI

This process along with our immune system may be why our species wasn't killed off by cancer a long time ago.

Epigenetic reprogramming of cells, a means using mRNA coding, seeks to instruct the cells to stop the shortening of their telomeres with each replication, a process by which our DNA seems to be coded to bring about the aging and dying of not only cells, but of every life form on the planet.' Scott Creighton

We now have two studies which purport to show a direct connection between Covid-19 mRNA 'vaccines and pancreatic cancer development.

Sanders Says Trump Arrest of Wisconsin Judge Is About One Thing Only: 'Unchecked Power'

(They also did this in Virginia when a man won his case in court and was released, the Trump Gestapo showed up in plain clothes with no warrant to grab and arrest him while in the courtroom. This is straight up Nazi shit coming from Trump and his gaggle of fascist yes-men beta-boys.)

from Common Dreams

U.S. Sen. Bernie Sanders led congressional progressives on Friday in condemning the Trump administration's arrest of a county judge in Wisconsin for allegedly helping an undocumented man evade capture by federal immigration agents.

FBI agents arrested 65-year-old Milwaukee County Circuit Judge Hannah Dugan, who faces felony charges of obstruction and concealing an individual, whom she is accused of giving refuge in her chambers as federal officers sought to arrest him.

In a statement accusing President Donald Trump of "illegally usurping congressional powers," Sanders (I-Vt.) said: "Let's be clear. Trump's arrest of Judge Dugan in Milwaukee has nothing to do with immigration. It has everything to do with his moving this country toward authoritarianism."

Syria responds to US demands, says will not be threat to 'Israel'

(So our al Qaeda government in Syria is now going to promise to play nice and let Glorious Israel steal all the land they need for the Greater Israel project... but also... America has promised to use U.S. soldiers and material... to DEFEND AL QAEDA AND KEEP THE SYRIAN ARAB ARMY FROM RETAKING THE COUNTRY. We are, once again, defending al Qaeda.)

from al Mayadeen English

... However, the letter was less forthcoming on other critical points, including the removal of foreign fighters in Syria and granting the US permission to conduct counterterrorism strikes.

The letter indicated that discussions had been held with former US envoy Daniel Rubinstein regarding foreign fighters but described the matter as needing “broader consultative sessions.” It noted that military promotions for foreign fighters had been suspended but did not confirm whether previous appointments had been revoked.

Syria also addressed concerns about Palestinian factions operating within its territory. The letter stated that a committee had been formed to monitor these groups and assured that armed factions outside of state control would not be tolerated. Notably, Syria pledged not to allow its territory to become a source of threat to any party, “including Israel.”

On 'counterterrorism', Syria’s position was that any such cooperation “requires mutual understandings.” The letter affirmed that the interim government would not permit threats to US or Western interests, but stopped short of committing to specific actions.

Syria expressed a willingness to engage further with Washington, suggesting that the steps taken could lead to detailed discussions about lifting sanctions and reopening embassies. The letter, sent on April 14, arrived shortly before Shibani traveled to New York, where he was expected to discuss the response with US officials.

The document proposed ongoing dialogue about coordinating anti-extremist efforts without directly authorizing US strikes, a sensitive issue given past foreign military interventions.

The letter acknowledged existing communication between Syrian counterterrorism officials and US representatives in Amman, revealing previously unreported direct contact aimed at combating ISIS elements. Syria indicated it was open to expanding this collaboration under mutually agreed-upon terms...

Yemeni forces target Israeli Nevatim Airbase with hypersonic ballistic missile

from PressTV

Yemeni Armed Forces have carried out a retaliatory operation against a strategic Israeli military position north of the Negev Desert, as part of their unflinching support for Palestinians plagued by the Israeli genocidal war on the Gaza Strip.

Brigadier General Yahya Saree, the spokesperson for the Yemeni military, announced in a statement that the Arab nation’s missile units targeted Nevatim Airbase, located 15 kilometers (9.3 miles) southeast of Beershea, on Saturday, using a homegrown Palestine-2 hypersonic ballistic missile.

He added that the missile strike could successfully achieve its desired objectives, and the Israeli military’s anti-air missile systems failed to intercept the projectile.

Saree underscored that the Yemeni forces will continue to confront the US acts of aggression against their homeland, will not cease developing their military capabilities, will put up more steadfastness, and will offer greater support to the oppressed Palestinian nation...

US, Iran begin new round of nuclear talks in Oman

(Witkoff is not a legitimate negotiator. He's a NY real estate developer with zero understanding of the history of the conflict in the Middle East. He is there to torpedo the negotiations on behalf of Israel.)

from Daily Sabah

The United States and Iran began a new round of negotiations over details of a potential nuclear deal in Oman Saturday.

U.S. special envoy Steve Witkoff and Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi are again leading the discussions, which this time include a technical-level meeting between experts from both sides.

The talks are aimed at striking a new deal that would stop Iran from developing nuclear weapons – an objective Tehran denies pursuing – in return for relief from crippling sanctions.

U.S. President Donald Trump pulled out of an earlier multilateral nuclear deal during his first term in office.

Araghchi has expressed "cautious optimism", saying this week: "If the sole demand by the U.S. is for Iran to not possess nuclear weapons, this demand is achievable."...

Hamas open to 5-year truce, one-time hostages release in Gaza

from Daily Sabah

Hamas could agree to a deal to end the Gaza war and see all hostages released and secure a five-year truce, an official said Saturday ahead of talks with mediators in Cairo.

A Hamas delegation was in Cairo to discuss with Egyptian mediators ways out of the 18-month war, as on the ground rescuers said an Israeli strike on a family home in Gaza City killed at least 10 people and left more feared buried under the rubble.

The Hamas official, speaking to Agence France-Presse (AFP) on condition of anonymity, said the Palestinian group "is ready for an exchange of prisoners in a single batch and a truce for five years".

The latest bid to seal a cease-fire follows an Israeli proposal which Hamas had rejected earlier this month as "partial", calling instead for a "comprehensive" agreement to halt the war ignited by the group's October 7, 2023 attack on Israel.

The Israeli offer included a 45-day cease-fire in exchange for the return of 10 living hostages.

Hamas has consistently demanded that a truce deal must lead to an end to the war, a full Israeli withdrawal from the Gaza Strip and a surge in humanitarian aid into the besieged territory – where on Friday the United Nations warned food stocks were running out...

Israel Is Doing WHAT To Children?

from Double Down News

Trump pushing India into high-stakes, high-risk China clash

(In Nov of 2024, Lashkar-e-Taiba (The Resistance Front) used grenades to attack target in India: 12 people were injured. On April 22 2025, the same group killed killed 28 people in yet another destabilization attack called 2025 Pahalgam attack.

On Monday, the 21st day of April 2025, JD Vance arrived in India to hold high level talks with Modi in an effort to lock in that country's allegiance to Donald Trump and his trade war with China and the other BRICS and Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) nations.

Pakistan is being blamed in Indian media for the attack in Pahlgam. Pakistan is seeking BRICS membership AND is a member of the SCO.

Lashkar-e-Taiba has been linked to al Qaeda, al Nusra and ISIS in the past in that it is believed to be, like the rest are, controlled by U.S. Special Operations forces as a proxy army.

It is not a coincidence that this attack took place the day after Vance arrived in India. The implication we are meant to read into it is that Pakistan doesn't want India to take sides with the U.S. in this global trade conflict.

That is ridiculous because the only result that could possibly come from this attack would be to drive India further from Pakistan and China and the SCO and BRICS rather than bring them together.

Which is why it is painfully clear who is really behind this brutal attack.)

from Asia Times

US President Donald Trump’s tariff war has sent shockwaves across the global economy, but no leader has felt its sting more keenly than India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Caught in a high-stakes geopolitical bind, India is grappling with an existential dilemma: balancing its vital economic ties with China against the allure of the American market.

On April 2, 2025, the Trump administration slapped a 26% “reciprocal” tariff on Indian goods, forcing New Delhi into fraught negotiations to preserve access to the American market, its largest export destination.

Despite the Indian media’s portrayal of Modi as a “Vishwaguru” (world leader) and indomitable strongman, India’s response has betrayed a surprising deference, seen in fast and big import duty cuts on Harley-Davidson motorbikes and American-made bourbon whiskey amid a broad pledge to tear down trade barriers. New Delhi has also announced plans to buy more US energy and defense products in a bid to placate Trump.

FBI, local police raid homes of pro-Palestine activists in Michigan

US law enforcement officials, including the FBI and local agencies, have executed a series of search warrants at multiple homes of pro-Palestine activists linked to the University of Michigan.

The raids were reportedly carried out in Ann Arbor, Ypsilanti, and Canton, at the request of Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel.

"We strongly condemn the actions taken today and all past and present repression of political activism," the Graduate Employees' Organization (GEO) said in a statement.

It demanded accountability from university officials and the attorney general...

‘Vance Go Back!’ — Indian Farmers on US VP’s Visit

from Consortium News

Thousands of farmers and working-class people in cities and villages across India took to the streets to protest the visit of U.S. Vice President J.D. Vance.  They claim he has come to finalize an agreement which will be a disaster for India’s agriculture and small industries.

Vance arrived in New Delhi on Monday on a four-day tour in the country. As per widespread reports, his primary agenda is to finalize a trade agreement between the two countries.  The talks over the agreement have been ongoing since the Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to the U.S. in February.

The protesters gathered in villages and district headquarters across India with posters and banners denouncing the Indian government’s failures to safeguard their interests and chanting slogans such as “Vance go back,” and “India is not for sale!”  In some places protesters also burned effigies of Vance.

Left-leaning All India Kisan Sabha (AIKS), the largest farmers’ group in the country, issued a statement on April 18 in which it asked all its units to launch the Vance go back campaign and to oppose the proposed trade agreement with the U.S. It called the agreement a surrender of India’s interests.

The AIKS statement claimed that Vance’s visit to India “is a part of putting pressure upon the state of India and the corporate-led ruling classes to surrender the national interests to facilitate windfall profiteering to the multinational companies.” ...

Vance Outlines U.S. Plan for Ukraine That Sharply Favors Russia

 (conflict map Ukraine)

(2014 Crimea referendum)

from the NYT

Vice President JD Vance on Wednesday called on Ukraine to accept an American peace proposal that closely mirrors longstanding Russian demands, including a “freeze” of territorial lines in the three-year war, acceptance of the annexation of Crimea by Russia and a prohibition on Ukraine becoming part of the NATO alliance.

It was the first time a U.S. official had publicly laid out a cease-fire deal in such stark terms and the comments appeared designed to increase pressure on Ukraine, which has long refused to accept Russia’s claims on its lands, particularly in Crimea.

Mr. Vance, speaking during a trip to India, said the United States would “walk away” from the peace process if both Ukraine and Russia refused to accept the American terms. But President Volodymyr Zelensky of Ukraine was clearly the target.

“We’ve issued a very explicit proposal to both the Russians and the Ukrainians, and it’s time for them to either say yes or for the United States to walk away from this process,” Mr. Vance told reporters. “The only way to really stop the killing is for the armies to both put down their weapons, to freeze this thing and to get on with the business of actually building a better Russia and a better Ukraine.”

The vice president’s comments came just hours after Mr. Zelensky said his country will never accept Russia’s 2014 occupation of Crimea as legal, adding that doing so would violate Ukraine’s Constitution. He also said that Ukraine could not accept any prohibition against becoming part of NATO.

“There is nothing to talk about. This violates our Constitution. This is our territory, the territory of the people of Ukraine,” Mr. Zelensky told reporters in a news conference...

Rubio Announces Major Cuts at State Dept., Accusing It of ‘Radical’ Ideology

from the NYT

Secretary of State Marco Rubio unveiled a plan on Tuesday to make major cuts to the State Department as part of a restructuring, calling the government’s diplomatic agency “bloated, bureaucratic” and “beholden to radical political ideology.”

Mr. Rubio released the plan in the form of an organizational chart and a brief official statement. The move is the latest by the Trump administration to reduce and reshape the government to a degree unseen in generations, which critics call a shortsightedly blunt assault on the federal bureaucracy.

The announcement on Tuesday is only the first step in an overhaul of the department. It focused on changes to operations in Washington, but the cuts will affect the work of embassies and consulates overseas. Closures of diplomatic missions and layoffs abroad are expected later, according to U.S. officials and earlier leaked memos.

What is The Resistance Front, the group claiming the deadly Kashmir attack?

(It's been widely understood that Lashkar-e-Taiba is just another destabilization proxy army in the mold of al Qaeda, al Nusra or ISIS. The fact that they use Telegram is telling.)

from al Jazeera

Even as news of the deadliest attack on Indian-administered Kashmir’s tourists in decades filtered in on social media platforms and television screens, a message appeared on Telegram chats.

The Resistance Front (TRF), a little-known armed group that emerged in the region in 2019, claimed responsibility for the attack in which at least 26 tourists were killed and more than a dozen others were injured on Tuesday...

... In a message that appeared on Telegram, TRF opposed the granting of residency permits to “outsiders”...

... Indian officials have consistently maintained that, in reality, TRF is an offshoot — or just a front — of the Lashkar-e-Taiba, a Pakistan-based armed group...

Davos founder probed over alleged misconduct – WSJ

from RT

The World Economic Forum (WEF) has launched an internal investigation into whistleblower allegations of misconduct involving its founder and former chairman, Klaus Schwab, the Wall Street Journal reported on Tuesday, citing a statement from the organization.

The report came one day after Schwab stepped down as chair of the WEF’s board of trustees without publicly explaining his decision. His resignation ended more than 50 years at the helm of the WEF, which he founded in 1971 and built into the influential host of the annual Davos summit of world leaders and chief executives.

According to the WSJ, the WEF board received an anonymous letter last week, reportedly from current and former employees, accusing Schwab and his wife, Hilde – also a former WEF employee – of financial and ethical misconduct. The letter claimed Schwab used the organization’s funds for personal expenses and instructed junior staff to withdraw cash for private use, including massages during official trips. It also alleged that Hilde Schwab used WEF money for luxury hotel stays during personal trips...

Charred bodies found in school as Israeli strikes kill dozens in Gaza

from PressTV

Two dozen Palestinians have been killed in new Israeli attacks in the Gaza Strip, while civil defense agency crew have recovered charred bodies from a school-turned-shelter for displaced people.

Medical sources said at least 24 people had been killed in Israeli air raids since dawn Wednesday, 20 of whom lost their lives in the northern part of the strip.

Mahmud Bassal, the spokesman for Gaza's civil defense agency, said 11 of the victims, which included women and children, died in an airstrike that sparked a fire at the Yafa School building in the al-Tuffah neighborhood of Gaza City.

Emergency workers recovered the body of a child who had been burned to death in the blaze.

A large number of people were also injured, the civil defense said in a post on the Telegram messaging platform.

Video footage shared on social media after the attack on the school-turned-shelter showed flames engulfing tent structures and canvas covering melting onto the remains of burning chairs and what appeared to be a bed frame...

Saudi Aramco, BYD partner on new energy vehicle technologies

(That's right folks. The best electric cars in the world, BYD, can't be sold in America even though they also happen to be very inexpensive... because they would cripple the American made e-car industry and Tesla specifically. )

from Daily Sabah

Oil giant Saudi Aramco and the Chinese electric vehicle maker BYD announced Monday they agreed to explore closer collaboration in new-energy vehicle technologies.

The Saudi firm is already a partner with Renault of France and the Chinese automaker Geely in a joint venture to produce thermal engines.

Its subsidiary Saudi Aramco Technologies Company (SATC) is now teaming up with the Chinese EV and hybrid vehicle giant, although terms of the accord were not specified.

In a joint statement the companies said the deal aimed to "foster the development of innovative technologies that enhance efficiency and environmental performance."

The statement was issued ahead of Auto Shanghai, the world's largest industry show of its kind, which opens Wednesday...

Musk to reduce Doge role after Tesla profits plunge

from the BBC

Tesla boss Elon Musk has pledged to "significantly" cut back his role in the US government after the electric car firm reported a huge drop in profit and sales for the start of this year.

Musk has led the newly created advisory body - the Department for Government Efficiency (Doge) - since last year, putting the world's richest man at the heart of cutting US spending and jobs.

But Musk said his "time allocation to Doge" would "drop significantly" from next month, adding he would spend only one to two days per week on it after accusations he has taken his focus off Tesla.

His political involvement has sparked protests and boycotts of Tesla cars around the world...

How Fear of a Second Holocaust Compels Jewish Complicity in Genocide

This is just my opinion on why Jewish people inside and outside of Israel seem to be digging themselves in deeper in their unwavering support of the Zionist Greater Israel agenda in the face of worse and worse crimes against humanity being exposed in Gaza and the West Bank.

US senator says new 9/11 investigation could happen

(Of course it could happen. But it wont.)

from RT

Republican US Senator Ron Johnson has suggested that new congressional hearings into the September 11 attacks may be forthcoming, citing unanswered questions surrounding the official narrative and the handling of evidence.

On September 11, 2001, al-Qaeda terrorists hijacked four passenger airliners, crashing two into the World Trade Center towers in Manhattan. A third plane struck the Pentagon, while the fourth crashed into a field in Pennsylvania. According to the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), World Trade Center Building 7 collapsed due to fires ignited by debris from one of the nearby towers.

During an interview with conservative commentator Benny Johnson which was published on Monday, Senator Johnson questioned several aspects of the 9/11 investigation, including the collapse of Building 7.

“I don’t know that you can find structural engineers – other than the ones that have the corrupt investigation inside NIST – that would say that that thing didn’t come down in any other way than a controlled demolition,” he said.

#FTAidf2025: Are We Witnessing Israel's Foxtrot Tango Alpha Moment?

F%ck The Army they called it. U.S. soldiers fighting an endless war in Vietnam had had enough. They didn't believe it in anymore and were refusing to fight. It wasn't all of em but it was enough to make a difference and give war planners reason to pause and rethink the future of the conflict. Is that what we see happening in Israel right now with Air Force, Intel, elite fighting units and reservists refusing to fight for Bibi's political future? #FTAidf2025

Palestinian elites threw a huge party for the opening of a megamall in Ramallah — as bombs ripped through Gaza

(Is Fatah Phil the Fed from Abbotsford in the pic on the page? He might be. These are the Palestinians he serves.)

from Mondoweiss

On April 12, a new shopping mall was inaugurated in Ramallah under the name “Icon” — a deliberate choice that seeks not only to name but to consecrate, to frame the exemplary as sacred. The opening was marked by a full-blown spectacle: choreographed dancers, celebratory music, a festive crowd, and a ribbon-cutting ceremony attended by officials and Palestinian elites. It was an aesthetic of pomp and circumstance, a carefully staged performance of normalcy. But as images and videos of the event circulated online, they collided with the reality of the ongoing massacre in Gaza. Social media erupted — especially from Gazans and Palestinians everywhere — in a wave of anger, grief, and disbelief. How could there be dancing while bodies are still being pulled from the rubble? How could such a display unfold at a time when whole families were being erased daily?

No official apology or explanation was offered by the mall’s management. There was, instead, a studied silence — or worse, the implicit message that no apology was necessary. In the refusal to acknowledge the dissonance, a deeper affective condition begins to show itself: not simply indifference, but shamelessness — a disavowal of the political moment that is so complete that even genocide cannot interrupt the rhythm of consumer desire. This is not merely the opening of a commercial space; it is the staging of a new ritual and the sanctification of the commodity form as the central object of contemporary worship for a Palestinian middle class...

'Another Day, Another Cover-Up,' Rights Group Says as IDF Releases Report on Medics' Killing

from Common Dreams

The Israel Defense Forces' report on the killing of 15 paramedics in Gaza last month was "sure to lead to increased demands for an independent investigation," said one journalist for Sky News, which recently released an extensive account of the incident that experts and advocates have called a potential war crime.

The IDF said it had found "several professional failures, breaches of orders, and a failure to fully report the incident" that took place on March 23, when Israeli troops opened fire on a convoy of vehicles that included ambulances, killing the 15 rescue workers.

But officials claimed that there was "no attempt to conceal the event" and the report suggested the firing of a deputy commander for providing an "inaccurate report" and the reprimanding of a commanding officer should satisfy the international outcry over the incident, after which United Nations and Palestinian Red Crescent officials discovered the medics' bodies and their crushed rescue vehicles had been buried in a shallow mass grave...

Bukele Proposes Deal That Would Free Deported Venezuelans

from the NYT

El Salvador’s president proposed on Sunday repatriating Venezuelan detainees sent to his country from the United States in exchange for the release of prisoners by Venezuela, including key figures in the Venezuelan opposition.

“I want to propose a humanitarian agreement that includes the repatriation of 100 percent of the 252 Venezuelans who were deported, in exchange for the release and surrender of an identical number (252) of the thousands of political prisoners you hold,” President Nayib Bukele wrote in an X post directed at President Nicolás Maduro of Venezuela.

Since March, the U.S. government has sent Venezuelans and Salvadorans accused of being affiliated with the Tren de Aragua and MS-13 gangs to El Salvador, where Mr. Bukele agreed to hold convicted criminals for the United States, for a fee.

Venezuela’s attorney general, Tarek William Saab, demanded the immediate release of the Venezuelans held in El Salvador late Sunday in a statement responding to Mr. Bukele. Mr. Saab didn’t say whether the Venezuelan government would consider the proposal...

Gaza rejects Israeli probe into 'summary executions' of medics

from Daily Sabah

Gaza’s civil defense agency on Monday rejected an Israeli army probe and accused Israeli forces of executing 15 rescue workers last month in what it described as "summary killings."

The medics and other rescue workers were killed when responding to distress calls near Gaza's southern city of Rafah early on March 23, days into Israel's renewed offensive in the Palestinian territory.

Among those killed were eight Red Crescent staff members, six from the Gaza civil defense rescue agency and one employee of UNRWA, the U.N. agency for Palestinian refugees, according to the U.N. humanitarian agency OCHA and Palestinian rescuers...

An Israeli military investigation into the incident released Sunday "found no evidence to support claims of execution" or "indiscriminate fire" by its troops, but admitted to operational failures and said it was firing a field commander.

It claimed six of those killed were resistance members, revising an earlier claim that nine of the men were members of different armed groups...

California mayor proposes tackling homelessness with fentanyl

('We need to purge these people'  The fascists are openly talking about killing the 'useless eaters', in this case, by locking them away in an old golf course and giving em enough fentanyl to allow them to kill themselves off. It's getting wild folks.)

from RT

...

Mayor Rex Parris of Lancaster, California sparked controversy during a February city council meeting after a resident criticized the city’s plan to deal with homelessness by confining them to an abandoned golf course near a residential area, the outlet said on Sunday.

According to footage from the meeting, Parris interrupted the woman’s remarks, saying, “what I want to do is give them free fentanyl.”

“I mean, that’s what I want to do. I want to give them all the fentanyl they want.”,,,

“I made it very clear I was talking about the criminal element that were let out of the prisons that have now become 40 to 45% of what’s referred to as the homeless population,” Parris told the outlet.

“They are responsible for most of our robberies, most of our rapes, and at least half of our murders,” he added, without providing any evidence or data to support his claims...

“Quite frankly, I wish that the president would give us a purge. Because we do need to purge these people,” Parris concluded...

Pope Francis, CIA and ‘Death Squads’

by Robert Perry Consortium News 2013

The election of Argentine Cardinal Jorge Bergoglio as Pope Francis brings back into focus the troubling role of the Catholic hierarchy in blessing much of the brutal repression that swept Latin America in the 1970s and 1980s, killing and torturing tens of thousands of people including priests and nuns accused of sympathizing with leftists.

The Vatican’s fiercely defensive reaction to the reemergence of these questions as they relate to the new Pope also is reminiscent of the pattern of deceptive denials that became another hallmark of that era when propaganda was viewed as an integral part of the “anticommunist” struggles, which were often supported financially and militarily by the U.S. Central Intelligence Agency.

It appears that Bergoglio, who was head of the Jesuit order in Buenos Aires during Argentina’s grim “dirty war,” mostly tended to his bureaucratic rise within the Church as Argentine security forces “disappeared” some 30,000 people for torture and murder from 1976 to 1983, including 150 Catholic priests suspected of believing in “liberation theology.”

Much as Pope Pius XII didn’t directly challenge the Nazis during the Holocaust, Father Bergoglio avoided any direct confrontation with the neo-Nazis who were terrorizing Argentina. Pope Francis’s defenders today, like apologists for Pope Pius, claim he did intervene quietly to save some individuals.

But no one asserts that Bergoglio stood up publicly against the “anticommunist” terror, as some other Church leaders did in Latin America, most notably El Salvador’s Archbishop Oscar Romero who then became a victim of right-wing assassins in 1980.

Indeed, the predominant role of the Church hierarchy from the Vatican to the bishops in the individual countries was to give political cover to the slaughter and to offer little protection to the priests and nuns who advocated “liberation theology,” i.e. the belief that Jesus did not just favor charity to the poor but wanted a just society that shared wealth and power with the poor...

Pope Francis and the long shadow of Argentina's "Dirty War"

from Religion News

...

Led by Jorge Videla, the military government orchestrated a reign of terror that plucked political enemies from their homes and sent then to sadistic torture centers where they were often raped, drugged and subjected to mock executions before they were killed. A common practice was to throw victims out of planes flying over the ocean.

The victims are called “los desaparecidos” or “the disappeared,” and number as high as 30,000. Argentinians today are still searching for the remains of the disappeared and their living offspring – scores of babies were born in their parents’ torture chambers and given to military families to adopt.

Since the late 1970s, the so called “Mothers of the Plaza de Mayo” have gathered regularly in a famed Buenos Aires square to press for information about their children’s fate, and that of grandchildren they never met.

The Catholic Church in Argentina did not take a uniform stand on the Dirty War. Some priests backed the military, but others worked against it and died for their outspokenness.

But Bergoglio has been outspoken more recently. Argentina’s bishops apologized last year for failing to protect the junta’s victims. But the apology itself drew criticism, because it also blamed the leftists who — sometimes violently — opposed the  junta.

The apology left open the question, The Associated Press reported at the time, as to how much Catholic leaders knew of the junta’s atrocities. As pope, it still may be one that Francis will be called to answer.

Israeli attacks, siege aimed at dismantling Gaza’s health system: Doctor

from PressTV

The head of field hospitals in the Gaza Strip says Israel’s attacks on hospitals and their staff, as well as its siege on the entry of medical supplies, are meant to “systematically dismantle” the healthcare system of the Palestinian territory.

Dr. Marwan al-Hams made the remarks on Sunday as Gaza is facing its most severe humanitarian crisis over the 18-month Israeli genocidal war on the blockaded territory.

He said Israel is targeting all elements of the medical sector in the Gaza Strip, including healthcare facilities and their workers.

The occupying regime is “deliberately preventing the entry of essential medical supplies [to Gaza], aiming to systematically dismantle the healthcare system” there, he added.

In separate remarks, he told China’s Xinhua news agency that more than 80 percent of hospitals in Gaza are now either partially or completely out of service.

“The health sector in Gaza has collapsed,” he said, calling for urgent “international intervention to supply [Gaza with] fuel and medical equipment. We are working in inhumane conditions. Without help, the wounded will die.”...

China says it's "extremely unlikely" COVID pandemic came from lab leak, as CIA now indicates

from CBS Jan 2025

China said Monday it was "extremely unlikely" COVID-19 came from a laboratory, after the CIA said it believed the virus had more likely come from a lab rather than natural transmission.

"The conclusion that a laboratory leak is extremely unlikely was reached by the China-WHO joint expert team based on field visits to relevant laboratories in Wuhan," foreign ministry spokeswoman Mao Ning said.

"This has been widely recognized by the international community and the scientific community," she added.

The CIA said Saturday the virus was "more likely" leaked from a Chinese lab than transmitted by animals.

Protesters Nationwide Rally Again to Condemn Trump Policies

from the NYT

Thousands of protesters across the country once again took to the streets on Saturday to rally against President Trump and his policies, a sign of sustained resistance to his leadership just two weeks after cities and towns nationwide saw mass demonstrations.

Although the turnouts in cities like New York, Washington and Chicago appeared to be smaller than the protests on April 5 — several thousands marched in the nation’s capital on Saturday, compared with tens of thousands earlier this month — more than 700 events were planned from Jacksonville, Fla., to Los Angeles, according to one of the organizers, the group 50501.

The participants raged against the president, who they say is trampling on civil liberties and the rule of law, and overreaching in immigration, federal job cuts, the economy and other areas...

Breaking through the stalemate in the student movement for Palestine

from Mondoweiss

Five days after the ceasefire in Gaza took effect, Oxford Action for Palestine (OA4P) occupied a “landmark Oxford library,” renaming it “The Khalida Jarrar Library.” Occupiers reiterated the demands for an academic boycott of Israeli institutions and for divestment from all arms companies while also reinvesting in the urgent Palestinian-led rebuilding of higher education in Gaza. This action forced much-needed attention on Palestine after the ‘ceasefire’ in Gaza placated the efforts of many—as if Israeli machinations of genocide had ceased, even as manufactured starvation and the targeted destruction of the healthcare system continued unabated. Against the backdrop of almost 1000 violations of the ceasefire by Israel and the ramping up of invasions and settler pogroms in the West Bank, the urgency of keeping eyes on Palestine was paramount. Israel proved this by unilaterally shattering the ceasefire on March 18th with hundreds of simultaneous strikes on Gaza, killing 1,263 Palestinians in 17 days.

OA4P’s seven-hour occupation encapsulated the current state of pro-Palestine student organizing globally. Pockets of students are escalating their actions, such as protestors at Bowdoin and Columbia, though in many other cases, the efforts have dwindled. Amid increased repression of protest and free speech by police and state actors worldwide, and declining media coverage of Palestine, the acceleration and intensification of actions that disrupt the status quo and reject the normalization of Zionist violence are imperative...

'Victory for Scammers' as Trump Fires 90% of Consumer Protection Agency Staff

(That's right folks. TrumpyBear the Magnanimous  is clearing the way for Big Banking, Wall Street, Big Business and the hedge funders to RIP YOU OFF EVEN MORE THAN EVER right after giving them a chance to Buy the Dip before he announced a pause on the 'Liberation Day' tariffs. This is outright systemic graft, letting his oligarch friends rip us off over and over again before they deliberately tank the economy. Amazing this guy has one single supporter left.)

from Common Dreams

U.S. President Donald Trump's administration on Thursday dealt what advocates fear could be a fatal blow to the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau by moving to fire 90% of its workforce, gutting an agency that has returned tens of billions of dollars to Americans defrauded by corporate abusers.

With no advance notice, roughly 1,500 CFPB employees received news Thursday afternoon that they're being fired, a major step toward billionaire Trump lieutenant Elon Musk's stated goal of deleting the bureau. The mass terminations, if upheld, would leave the CFPB with a "skeleton crew" of around 200 staffers.

"This is another assault on consumers and our democracy by Trump's lawless administration," said Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.), a key driving force behind the creation of the CFPB in the aftermath of the 2008 financial crisis. "We will fight back with everything we've got."

The so-called reduction-in-force (RIF) notices came days after a federal court issued an order requiring the CFPB—currently headed by far-right Project 2025 architect Russell Vought—to conduct a "particularized assessment" for employees it wants to terminate...

US revokes nearly 1,500 student visas: Who are the targets?

from al Jazeera

Hundreds of students and recent graduates have seen their visas revoked by immigration officials since United States President Donald Trump took office for a second time on January 20, 2025, with several also arrested.

Many of the targets of the visa revocations and arrests are students who participated in pro-Palestine protests which erupted on campuses across the country in 2024 amid Israel’s brutal war on Gaza. Others are individuals with more indirect links to Palestine – or those who have shown support for Gaza on social media.

The Trump administration alleges that these students spread anti-Semitism and pro-Hamas sentiment on campus – a claim students, lawyers and activists have all rebutted. Jewish activists and groups have been at the forefront of many of the most prominent protests in the US against the Gaza war.

Others have had visas removed after minor legal infractions – a speeding ticket or other traffic violations, for instance...

Protests grow inside Microsoft over Gaza war links

from al Mayadeen English

Internal unrest is mounting at Microsoft as employees protest the company’s reported involvement in the Israeli genocide in Gaza, The Guardian reported on Friday.

For the second time in a month, staff interrupted a high-profile event—this time during Microsoft’s 50th anniversary celebration on April 4—accusing the company of complicity in what they described as war crimes in Gaza.

During the celebration, AI executive Mustafa Suleyman was interrupted by employees Ibtihal Aboussad and Vaniya Agrawal, both of whom were fired days later. The incident follows a March 20 protest at Seattle’s Great Hall, where Microsoft President Brad Smith and former CEO Steve Ballmer were shouted down by a current and a former employee...
