Here in the Czech Republic, millions will suffer because they won't be able to afford the new hike in electricity, which was announced today. The price hike went up from 2000czk per month, to 4000czk a month 3 months ago, and as of today it ha gone up to 8000czk a month. And when the average wage for many manual production workers is only 20.000czk a month. This is going to cause civil unrest. And to constantly blame it on Russia is unbelievable. Especially when the Czech Republic produces its own electricity, then sells it to Germany, then Germany sells it back to the Czech's for more than the German's bought it for.
It is possible that even if the UK's natural gas doe not come form Russia, Norway for instance may need to cut the gas supplies to UK and send what they cut to the EU nations. That is a possiblity that would or could be implemented.
The UK signed up to give the EU of 48% of their gas supplies in a crisis.
