Horse-face Kerry and His Endless War on Everyone Everywhere AUMF Request (archive)

(archived from December 11, 2014)

by Scott Creighton

War, war, war… and then, some more war because you know, our national interests need their money.

That’s what Sec. of State John Kerry requested in an unusual meeting with the Senate Foreign Relations Committee the other day. Specifically, he requested a new Authorization for the Use of Military Force (AUMF) against their creation known as “ISIS” since the one he and President Peace Prize are currently operating under dates back to 2001 and specifically authorizes the use of force against al Qaeda and their affiliates.

Since al Qaeda is now fighting on our behalf in Syria against the elected government and supposedly has no ties to “ISIS”, technically, the current administration has no legal authority to wage endless war against them. But, hell, since when has that stopped them in the past?

So Mr. Kerry goes to Washington and channels his inner Cheney to ask for endless war unconstrained by geography or the constitution for that matter.

There are a couple of remarkable story-lines coming out of that three and a half hour meeting which I will get to in a minute, but first I wanted to address a little exchange between “Little Entitled Randy” (my name for Rand Paul) and Mr. Horse-face Globalist War-mongering Turncoat himself, John Kerry. This is f@cking remarkable…

The discussion had come around to deal with the geographic limits of the authorization and Mr. Horse-face simply refused to put any limits at all on where President Peace Prize would be allowed to bomb civilians or send our troops. Rand Paul took exception to that, a little…

Republican Rand Paul said, referring to the two holiest cities in Islam, “If Medina or Mecca pledges allegiance to the Islamic State, they are open to being bombed by the United States. You are sending a message to the Middle East that no city is off limits.”

Kerry treated such concerns with contempt. “Nobody’s talking about bombing everywhere,” he said, telling Paul to “make a presumption in the sanity of the President of the United States.WSWS

Well how about that? F@ck the constitution. Let’s just make a presumption in the sanity of the president and give him the open ended authority to bomb the sh!t out of anyone, anywhere and anytime he wants. Why not? Right?

Yes, the open ended aspect of his request is a now a matter of historical record. So is John Kerry’s obvious disgust with the checks and balances carefully written into the constitution of the United States. I guess the founding fathers of this country didn’t make a presumption in the sanity of the President of the United States back then and were perhaps suggesting that we do the same. Hence… the constitution.

Of course, Mr. Horse-face is certainly wiser than those old white guys who founded this nation, right. After all, he did marry a megarich older woman.

Mr. Kerry said that any congressional resolution should not impose geographic limitations, reasoning that the Islamic State might try to attack American forces or facilities outside of Iraq and Syria. New York Times

We don’t anticipate conducting operations in countries other than Iraq or Syria. But to the extent that [ISIS] poses a threat to American interests and personnel in other countries, we would not want an AUMF to constrain our ability to use appropriate force against [ISIS] in those locations if necessary. In our view, it would be a mistake to advertise to [ISIS] that there are safe havens for them outside of Iraq and Syria.” John Horse-face Kerry

Yes indeedie. No sense in constraining the commander in chief when “our national interests” like Chevron and BP and Goldman Sachs (or Heinz for that matter, owned by Sec. Kerry’s wife) need him to send young men and women to be blown to bits to protect their precious profits.

ISIS” in Turkey? Bomb the sh!t out of ‘em.

ISIS” in Pakistan? ditto

ISIS” in Ferguson and Detroit? You know the score. Because after all, there is no limitations to the new AUMF the republicans will bless Sec. Horse-face with in the next month or so. They sky’s the limit. ‘ISIS” in Gaza?

ISIS” in Tampa pecking away at a little keyboard? Damn insurgents.

It’s also being reported that Kerry is only seeking a 3 year limited authorization for this new war of his.

That’s a f@cking lie.

The agreement they reached is that there will be “no enduring combat operations” with the emphasis on the legalese “enduring”. What does that mean? Combat operations wont go on forever. At some point they will stop. As for the 3 years being claimed by others, there’s a little caveat:

Mr. Kerry said that a three-year time limit would be acceptable, as proposed by Senator Robert Menendez, the New Jersey Democrat who is chairman of the committee. But Mr. Kerry said the resolution should include a provision that would allow that time limit to be extended. New York Times

Yeah. Three years would be fine just so long as it’s not limited to three years and can in fact go on and on and on forever and a day. The same endless war Dick Cheney was so excited after 9/11 rears it’s ugly head once again under President CHANGE.

So no limit on the location or the time involved and we should just presume in the sanity of the president to make the right decisions about who he kills anywhere anytime on the planet. Does any of that sound vaguely familiar?

Got that? Good.

There’s your f@cking CHANGE.
