Aid ship to set sail for Gaza despite drone attack on similar mission

The Freedom Flotilla Coalition’s (FFC) next ship, Madleen, is scheduled to depart for Gaza on Sunday, as part of the group’s ongoing effort to break the Israeli regime’s “illegal blockade” of the besieged Gaza Strip.

Swedish climate activist Greta Thunberg and Irish actor Liam Cunningham, best known for his role in Game of Thrones and his vocal support for Palestinian rights, are among the prominent figures joining the mission.

UN Special Rapporteur Francesca Albanese took to her X page to express concern for the participants, writing, “Stay safe, my friends. I am painfully aware of the risks you are taking on behalf of all of us—of Humanity.”

She further called on global leaders to ensure the flotilla’s safety. “Diplomats and politicians around the world: The Flotilla Giants are taking the heavy lift. PLEASE make sure they are protected, will you? This is the least you can do,” she added...

Reports of killings, abductions, and missing persons at U.S.-run aid center in Gaza

Muhammad Imad Abdel Hadi traveled from Khan Younis to Rafah on May 27 to obtain food after hearing that the American and Israeli-backed Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF) was distributing aid in the Tal al-Sultan area. Amid the chaos that erupted at the distribution point, starving Palestinians desperate for food stormed the site and forced the American mercenaries manning it to retreat.

Muhammad was one of the people who managed to secure a food parcel for his family. He was on his way back with the joyful news when the Israeli army killed him before he could deliver it.

Muhammad’s mother, Rehab Abdel Hadi, dressed in black, now carries her son’s coffin at Nasser Hospital in Khan Younis and walks in his funeral procession. Holding the coffin with one hand and placing the other on her chest, she speaks aloud to herself as she walks toward the cemetery: “My eldest son is dead. The light has gone from my eyes.”

Rehab laments that her eldest son went to get food for the family, and that he left walking on his own two feet, but was carried back on people’s shoulders...

Israel announces expansion of illegal settlements in occupied West Bank

The Israeli government says it will establish 22 illegal settlements on Palestinian land in the occupied West Bank, including the legalisation of some so-called “outposts” already built without government authorisation, in a move decried by Palestinian officials and rights groups.

Defence Minister Israel Katz and Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich announced the decision on Thursday, with Katz saying that it “strengthens our hold on Judea and Samaria,” using an Israeli term for the occupied West Bank.

He added it was also “a strategic move that prevents the establishment of a Palestinian state that would endanger Israel”.

Smotrich, himself a settler on illegally occupied Palestinian-owned land and an advocate for Israeli annexation of the West Bank, hailed the “historic decision”.

Elon Musk’s startup xAI will invest $300 million and deploy its Grok AI chatbot in partnership with the messaging app Telegram, according to a statement by the app’s CEO Pavel Durov published on Wednesday. 

In announcing the deal, Durov said that he and Musk had agreed to a one-year partnership designed to strengthen Telegram’s financial position.

“We will receive $300M in cash and equity from xAI, plus 50% of the revenue from xAI subscriptions sold via Telegram,” he said.

Musk later stated on X that “no deal has been signed,” without providing any additional details, prompting Durov to clarify that the parties had reached an agreement in principle, with formalities still to be finalized...

We also learnt that Israeli forces bombed the home of Palestinian doctor Alaa al-Najjar while she was at work, killing nine of her children and injuring her husband. One child survives, clinging to life in intensive care.

And as if Israel’s actions could get any more depraved, news breaks that Israeli forces have killed at least ten starving Palestinians queuing for aid in the newly established US-backed distribution site on the outskirts of Rafah...

Trump warns Netanyahu on Iran talks, pushes Gaza ceasefire plan

US President Donald Trump revealed on Wednesday that he had issued a warning to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu the previous week, advising him against taking any actions that might interfere with the nuclear negotiations involving Iran.

"I told him this would be inappropriate to do right now because we're very close to a solution now," Trump told reporters, noting that "That could change at any moment."

A senior aide informed reporters that the Trump administration is preparing to complete a new written agreement as early as Wednesday, which could serve as the foundation for a possible ceasefire arrangement in Gaza between "Israel" and Hamas.

"We are on the precipice of sending out a new term sheet that hopefully will be delivered later on today," Steve Witkoff, US Special Envoy to the Middle East announced, adding that Trump will review it while expressing optimism it will lead to a long-term resolution of the war in Gaza...

‘We can’t say we didn’t know’: Israeli academics demand end to war on Gaza

More than 1,200 Israeli academics have issued an open letter calling on the heads of Israeli academic institutions to “speak out” and act to stop the war on Gaza.

In the letter released on Tuesday, the academics, who identify themselves as the Black Flag Action Group, claim that, since Israel violated the ceasefire in March, almost 3,000 people have been killed in Gaza. The vast majority of them, the writers say, were civilians. In addition to the growing numbers of people killed by Israeli fire, the authors note, are the warnings of acute starvation being forced upon Gaza as a “result of intentional and openly declared Israeli government policy”.

The academics’ letter is the latest in a growing number of open letters protesting the war from within Israel. However, while many other letters have objected to the political reasons for Israel’s latest offensive, or claimed that it puts Israel’s remaining captives held in Gaza at risk, the academics’ letter is unique in that it places Palestinian suffering at the heart of its objections to the war...

UNICEF: Over 50,000 children killed, injured in Israeli genocidal war on Gaza

The Regional Director for West Asia and North Africa of UN’s International Children's Emergency Fund (UNICEF) says the Israeli regime is directly responsible for the death or injury of more than 50,000 children in Gaza either through direct military assault or through causing hunger and disease.

Edouard Beigbeder on Wednesday condemned the toll the Gaza war has had on the Palestinian children of the enclave and how indifferent the Israeli regime has been toward child casualties.

“Since the end of the ceasefire on March 18, 1,309 children have been killed and 3,738 injured. In total, more than 50,000 children have reportedly been killed or injured since October 2023. How many more dead girls and boys will it take?” he said.

“What level of horror must be live-streamed before the international community fully steps up, uses its influence, and takes bold, decisive action to force the end of this ruthless killing of children?” he said.

Beigbeder mentioned the case of the Palestinian doctor Alaa al-Najjar, a physician at Nasser Hospital in Khan Younis, who on Friday lost nine of her 10 children during an Israeli airstrike on their home and the horrifying death of at least 31 people on Monday, including 18 children, during an Israeli strike on a school-turned-shelter in Gaza City.

“These children, lives that should never be reduced to numbers, are now part of a long, harrowing list of unimaginable horrors: the grave violations against children, the blockade of aid, the starvation, the constant forced displacement, and the destruction of hospitals, water systems, schools, and homes. In essence, the destruction of life itself in the Gaza Strip,” he added...

UNRWA slams Israeli Gaza aid model as 'distraction from atrocities'

The head of the U.N. agency for Palestinian refugees on Wednesday condemned Israel’s aid distribution model for Gaza as inefficient and a "distraction from atrocities," denouncing a U.S.-backed foundation’s chaotic delivery earlier in the week.

On Tuesday, thousands of Palestinians rushed an aid distribution site set up in the Israeli-held southern Gaza city of Rafah operated by the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF), with desperation for food overcoming wariness about biometric and other checks Israel said it would employ.

"The model of aid distribution proposed by Israel does not align with core humanitarian principles," UNRWA Commissioner-General Philippe Lazzarini told reporters at the Japan National Press Club in Tokyo.

"We have seen yesterday the shocking images of hungry people pushing against fences, desperate for food. It was chaotic, undignified and unsafe," Lazzarini said.

"I believe it is a waste of resources and a distraction from atrocities," he added, referring to civilian deaths during Israel's air and ground war in the small coastal enclave...

Hamas, Witkoff agree on permanent Gaza cease-fire

Palestinian resistance group Hamas announced Tuesday that it has reached a preliminary agreement with U.S. envoy Steve Witkoff on a general framework for a permanent cease-fire in Gaza.

"We have reached an agreement on a general framework with Witkoff that ensures a permanent ceasefire, a complete withdrawal of Israeli occupation forces from Gaza, and the unhindered entry of humanitarian aid," it said in a statement.

The proposed framework includes a permanent halt to hostilities, a full withdrawal of Israeli forces from the Gaza Strip, the establishment of a professional committee to administer the enclave, and the uninterrupted flow of humanitarian aid, Anadolu Agency (AA) cited Hamas as saying. The group said the deal also included the release of 10 Israeli hostages, the exchange of several bodies with an agreed number of Palestinians held captive by Israel.

The agreement, if confirmed, would mark a major step toward ending months of deadly conflict and addressing the growing humanitarian crisis in the besieged Palestinian territory...

' The IDF on Tuesday celebrated the announcement of the opening of two large food distribution centers by the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation, which in turn said it had handed out around 462,000 meals’ worth of food.

At one point in the afternoon, the Palestinian crowds who had come to receive food overran the facility’s outer defenses, trying to seize as much food as they could for themselves. You would think he was a dedicated pro-Palestine campaigner. He has, after all, worked since 2013 at the Palestine Solidarity Campaign, the lead UK group organising the massive demonstrations in solidarity with Palestine over the last two years.

In addition, the Palestine Solidarity Campaign states that it is anti-Zionist. Its 2024 annual report states this unambiguously: “We are an anti-Zionist organization.” Soffa has even been referred to as an “anti-Zionist Jew” by that doyen of non-Jewish Zionists, the sometime arms industry lobbyist, Labour Party enforcer and We Believe in Israel head, Luke Akehurst.

So surely the national secretary of the PSC is actually an anti-Zionist?

Unfortunately, matters are not so clear. In a new disclosure to MintPress News, he has admitted for the first time that he worked together in the Labour Party with former Israeli spy Assaf Kaplan. Stating that they had “limited interactions” in his role working at the Labour Party as head of digital organizing. This was at the same time as he worked as national secretary of the Palestine Solidarity Campaign.

In addition, Soffa serves as the chair of the Lancaster and Lakes Jewish Community(LLJC), based at Lancaster University. It’s a member of the Board of Deputies of British Jews (BoD).

As is well known, the BoD has been Zionist since 1939. In its 2020 annual report, it boasted about its relationship with the genocidal Zionist regime. It has a “close working relationship with the Embassy of Israel in the UK” and “strengthened links to the Israeli Ministry of Strategic Affairs and the IDF Spokesperson Department.”...

Hamas says it accepts US ceasefire proposal, awaits Israel’s response

Hamas says it has accepted a proposal forwarded by the US’s regional envoy, which reportedly includes withdrawal of Israeli forces from the Gaza Strip.

“We have accepted Steve Witkoff (the American envoy)’s proposal to reach a ceasefire and the withdrawal of hostile forces,” a member of the Gaza-based resistance movement’s Political Bureau, Basem Naim, said on Tuesday.

“We are awaiting the occupation’s response,” the Palestinian official added.

Naim, however, did not comment on the details of the proposal.

Earlier this month, Naim had noted that Witkoff had personally assured the group that the United States would pressure the Israeli regime to end its near-total siege on the Gaza Strip and permit humanitarian access.

The envoy, according to Naim, had said the US would start applying the pressure within two days of Hamas’s releasing American-Israeli trooper Edan Alexander, whom the group handed over on May 12.

According to the Hamas member, Witkoff had also promised that US President Donald Trump would make a public call for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza and for negotiations aimed at achieving a “permanent ceasefire.”

Witkoff, though, “did nothing of this,” Naim said at the time...

Medical officials in Gaza said that at least 36 people were killed by an Israel Defense Forces (IDF) bombing of the Fahmi al-Jarjawi School in the al-Daraj neighborhood of Gaza City. The Gaza Government Media Office (GMO) said that 18 children were killed in the "brutal massacre."

"The school was supposed to be a place of safety. Instead, it was turned into an inferno," Gaza Civil Defense spokesperson Mahmoud Basal told reporters. "We heard desperate cries for help from people trapped alive inside the blaze, but the fire was too intense. We couldn't get to them."...

The European Union’s top sports official has suggested that “Israel” could face exclusion from international sporting events over its ongoing war on Gaza, citing the need to uphold humanitarian values.

In remarks made to Politico, EU Sports Commissioner Glenn Micallef stated that “there should be no space in sporting events for those who do not share our values,” referring to countries involved in rights violations and humanitarian abuses.

“Sport is a tool that we use to promote peace, through which we promote human rights,” Micallef said to Politico, while noting that the global sports movement remains formally autonomous. Nevertheless, he insisted that the EU has “a responsibility to speak about these issues and to make our feelings known.”

Micallef’s statement comes as the Israeli occupation continues its devastating military assault on Gaza. Israeli airstrike on Gaza school-turned-shelter kills over 35 Palestinians, including children

Israel's overnight airstrikes on a Gaza school sheltering displaced families kill at least 36 Palestinians, including many children, according to medics and civil defense officials.​​​​​​

Israeli forces, early Monday, struck the Fahmi al-Jarjawi School in Gaza City's Daraj neighborhood, where hundreds of displaced Palestinians from Beit Lahia—a northern town under intense Israeli bombardment—had sought refuge.

According to Gaza's Civil Defense agency, rescuers retrieved 20 bodies—many of them children—from the school, with numerous victims charred after fires tore through two classrooms that had been converted into shelters.

Local sources report the casualties included Mohammad al-Kasih, Hamas's northern Gaza police investigations chief, as well as his wife and children.

The Palestinian health ministry reported that just before the school attack, an Israeli airstrike struck a residential building on Thawra Street in Gaza City.

The airstrike hit both a residential building and adjacent tents housing displaced families. The force of the explosion caused debris from the destroyed home to collapse onto the nearby tents, leading to further casualties. According to reports, at least four people were killed in the attack. 

The twin strikes mark an intensification of Israel's military campaign, which has seen a significant escalation in northern Gaza over the past week...

Türkiye appeals for Gaza cease-fire, 2-state solution

Turkish Deputy Foreign Minister Nuh Yılmaz expressed Türkiye's call for an immediate end to Israeli military operations in Gaza and emphasized the urgent need for humanitarian access.

During a high-level meeting of the Madrid Group in the Spanish capital on Sunday, Yılmaz stressed "the necessity of the cessation of the Israeli aggression in Gaza and the unhindered flow of urgent humanitarian aid," according to a statement by the Turkish Foreign Ministry released on X.

Yılmaz also underscored the "importance of increased international cooperation to implement the two-state solution."

Many children burn alive as Israeli strike on Gaza school kills 25

Scores of Gazan women and children were among at least 25 people killed in an Israeli strike that targeted a school housing war-displaced people, local authorities said Monday.

The strike targeted Fahmi al-Jarjawi School, where families had been seeking refuge from ongoing Israeli bombardments, said Al-Aqsa TV and other local sources, describing the incident as a "massacre."

A fire swept through the tents on the school compound, located in the Daraj neighbourhood of Gaza City, following the bombing.

The strike also wounded more than 55 people, said Fahmy Awad, head of the ministry's emergency service. He said a father and his five children were among the dead.

He said the school was hit three times while people slept, setting their belongings ablaze.

Eyewitness videos circulated online showing burned bodies, many of them children, and others crying out as flames consumed their surroundings.

"Charred corpses and the screams of displaced people engulfed in flames were seen and heard from the site," one report said...

The report, ran by the Quds News Network, indicated that Yasser Abu Shabab and his armed gangs had re-emerged under the guise of “securing aid,” wearing uniforms and claiming to safeguard the limited humanitarian assistance entering the Strip.

The Israeli regime allowed on Sunday the entry of a small number of aid trucks into the Gaza Strip after imposing a total siege on March 2, following international pressure and widespread condemnation as the Palestinian territory faces a looming famine.

“These gangs have been intercepting humanitarian aid trucks in eastern Rafah. These groups operate under the protection of Israeli forces, enabling large-scale looting and sabotage of relief efforts in the besieged Strip,” the report said.

New Gaza Aid Plan, Bypassing U.N. and Billed as Neutral, Originated in Israel

Israeli troops admit to using Palestinians as human shields in Gaza

Israeli forces are systematically forcing Palestinians to act as human shields in Gaza, sending them into buildings and tunnels—often at gunpoint—to check for bombs and potential threats, according to a report. 

The Associated Press report drew on accounts from multiple Palestinians who described being used as human shields in Gaza and the occupied West Bank, as well as two members of Israel’s military who admitted to engaging in the practice.

Scores killed in new Israeli strikes as starving Gazans wait for aid

Gaza health officials say Israeli airstrikes overnight through Wednesday killed at least 52 people, among them multiple women and a newborn baby.

 In Khan Younis, where Israel recently issued fresh evacuation orders ahead of an anticipated ground onslaught, 24 Palestinians were killed, including 14 members of a single family.

In central Gaza, a newborn infant was among those killed in the bombardment.

The fresh bout of massacres came as Gazans waited desperately for vital supplies after Israel falsely said it let in dozens of UN trucks. 

The Doctors Without Borders (MSF) aid group said the amount of aid Israel has started to allow into the war-ravaged Gaza Strip is not nearly enough and is "a smokescreen to pretend the siege is over".

"The Israeli authorities' decision to allow a ridiculously inadequate amount of aid into Gaza after months of an air-tight siege signals their intention to avoid the accusation of starving people in Gaza, while in fact keeping them barely surviving," said Pascale Coissard, the MSF's emergency coordinator in Khan Yunis.

Former United States ambassador to Syria, Robert Ford, has boasted about his role in rebranding Daesh-linked terrorist Abu Mohammed al-Jolani, the head of the HTS-led administration in Syria, but hid his role in Syria death squads, a political commentator says.

On his X account, Tim Anderson, the director of the Center for Counter Hegemonic Studies (CCHS) in Australia, posted a short video of Ford, in which he is speaking at a gathering and revealing how he managed to rebrand the former Daesh terrorist.

“Former US diplomat Robert Ford boasts about his role in rebranding ISIS (Daesh) terrorist Jolani. But Ford is dissembling. He was a key patron of the death squads in Syria, from 2011 onwards,” Anderson said on X.

 

Ford, who was the US ambassador to Syria from 2011 until 2014, said that in 2023, a UK-based conflict resolution NGO, called on him to help transition former Takfiri terrorist leader Ahmad Sharaa (aka Jolani) into mainstream politics.

Jim Hoffman has just published his essay ” A Hypothetical Blasting Scenario:  A Plausible Theory Explaining the Controlled Demolition of the Twin Towers Using Aluminothermic Incendiaries and Explosives with Wireless Ignition Means” in time for it to coincide with the new Jones et al piece, “Active Thermitic Material Discovered in Dust from the 9/11 World Trade Center Catastrophe” and quite frankly, Hoffmans work is structurally unsound.

I don’t want to get too far into a critical review of Hoffmans work till I can wrap my head around what Jones’ paper concludes and that is mainly because Hoffman’s efforts are largely based on giving what he thinks is a practical application for the hypothesis of aluminothermic controlled demolition of the Trade Centers.  Clearly understanding more about the new Steven Jones work is key to validating Hoffman’s theory.

I am currently working through the Jones effort as you will see in a moment.

But Hoffman’s “Plausible” theory is a horse of a different color. It would appear that he may have been too eager to get a working demolition theory out there at the same time Jones released his research.

His “Plausible” theory and his conclusions need a lot more work.

‘Unacceptable and intolerable’: International pressure mounting on Israel over Gaza

Just look at him.  He’s a weasel.

Disinfo specialist, red-chip peddling, snake oil salesman.  What he and Jones have done to the “Truth” movement is criminal. Their ridiculous claim about the “thermetic” material (that’s not even a WORD people) kicked the Truth movement right off the tracks.

Their own paper says that they can’t even be sure how it MAY have been used… they can’t even tell if it COULD have been used to blow up ANYTHING! Yet everyone runs around talking about this “highly thermetic material” as if it is the end all be all to the unofficial investigation.

Niels himself has gone on record saying based on the amounts of these chips they found in the dust, he estimates 10 tons of the shit was in the dust after the demolition.   10 tons? Unexploded “thermetic” material? What does that mean they actually USED to bring the towers down? 100 tons? A thousand? It’s completely ridiculous, like Jim Hoffman’s “Plausible” hypothesis for how the “thermetic material” was used in the demolition. Remember that? 100s of “illegal aliens” running around at break-neck speeds planting 1.8 MILLION individual CEILING TILE BOMBS and kicker charges disguised as FIRE EXTINGUISHERS?!?

Another AE911Truth member has come out with what he claims is video evidence of the presence of  “nanothermite” in the demolition process of the World Trade Centers.  It is surprising that AE911Truth (an organization made up primarily of engineers and scientists)  would be promoting this video by David Chandler because it is an embarrassing collection of unsupported conclusions and really bad science.  It so obvious, anyone can pick it apart.  Unfortunately, I think that might be it’s purpose.

This “nanothermite” track that the Truth Movement has been on since the publication of the Harrit/Jones/Roberts paper has been increasingly dishonest since the very beginning and this is just another example of how “nanothermite” is blowing up our movement.

Which is, of course, the only thing this “super secret” pyrotechnic COULD blow up…

What they proposed in their paper was that they had found “active thermetic material” that utilized “nano technology” in the dust from the WTC demolitions.  In later discussions, they (Jones and Harrit at least) have estimated the presence of at least 10 tons of this unexploded material exists in the dust that was scattered around New York on Sept. 11th, 2001.

There has been a great deal of reasoned evaluation of the paper itself and the results of those evaluations have not been positive.

For months I have been taking hits from my colleagues in the Truth movement for my stand on the Jones, Harrit, Roberts paper “Active Thermetic Material…“.

I have stated, for the record and in no uncertain terms, that their “nano-thermetic material” could not have been w

hat pulverized the floor systems and was probably not what was used as cutter charges.

 

I have theorized a rational, logic based hypothesis for exactly what kind of explosive was used as the primary high-explosive in the demolition of the Trade Centers, and have even produced detailed drawings and schematics to illustrate my point.

Now guess who agrees with me?  Prof. Steven Jones does. Well, at least partly.

The summit’s closing statement reaffirmed the centrality of the Palestinian cause as the cause of the Arab nation and a cornerstone of regional stability. The Arab leaders expressed absolute support for the inalienable rights of the Palestinian people, including their right to freedom, self-determination, and the establishment of an independent State of Palestine.

Participants called for an immediate halt to the Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip and demanded intensified efforts to pressure for the opening of crossings and the delivery of humanitarian aid to all Palestinian territories. The statement also emphasized the need to implement relevant UN Security Council resolutions issued since the onset of the aggression.

The leaders rejected any form of forced displacement of Palestinians from their land under any pretext and welcomed international recognition of the State of Palestine. The statement particularly commended Spain, Norway, and Ireland for their recent recognition and urged other nations to follow suit.

Support was also expressed for Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas’s call to convene an international peace conference aimed at resolving the Palestinian issue on the basis of international legitimacy.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said on Monday Israel would control the whole of Gaza despite mounting international pressure that forced it to lift a blockade on aid supplies which has left the enclave on the brink of famine.

 

The Israeli military, which announced the start of a new operation on Friday, warned residents of the southern city of Khan Younis on Monday to evacuate to the coast immediately as it prepared "an unprecedented attack".

 

"There is huge fighting going on, intense and huge, we are going to control all parts of Gaza," Netanyahu said in a video message in which he pledged to achieve "complete victory" with both the release of the 58 hostages still held by Hamas in Gaza and the destruction of the Palestinian militant group.

Even as the military warned of the attack, Reuters reporters saw aid trucks heading towards northern Gaza after Netanyahu was forced to agree to allow a limited amount of aid into Gaza in response to global concern at the reports of famine.

 

Netanyahu said U.S. senators he has known for years as supporters of Israel, "our best friends in the world", were telling him the scenes of hunger were draining vital support and bringing Israel close to a "red line, to a point where we might lose control"...

This Israeli Government Is Not Our Ally

Dear President Trump,

There are very few initiatives that you’ve undertaken since coming to office that I agree with — except in the Middle East. The fact that you are traveling there next week and meeting the leaders of Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates and Qatar — and that you have no plans to see Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in Israel — suggests to me that you are starting to understand a vital truth: that this Israeli government is behaving in ways that threaten hard-core U.S. interests in the region. Netanyahu is not our friend.

He did think he could make you his chump, though. Which is why I am impressed by how you have signaled to him through your independent negotiations with Hamas, Iran and the Houthis that he has no purchase on you — that you will not be his patsy. It clearly has him in a panic.

I have no doubt that, generally speaking, the Israeli people continue to see themselves as steadfast allies of the American people — and vice versa. But this ultranationalist, messianic Israeli government is not America’s ally. Because this is the first government in Israel’s history whose priority is not peace with more of its Arab neighbors and the benefits that greater security and coexistence would bring. Its priority is the annexation of the West Bank, the expulsion of the Palestinians of Gaza and the re-establishment there of Israeli settlements.

The notion that Israel has a government that is no longer behaving as an American ally, and should not be considered as such, is a shocking and bitter pill for Israel’s friends in Washington to swallow — but swallow it they must...

When asked if healthcare should be considered a human right in America like it is in almost every single nation on the planet, RFK Jr. dusted off the old neoliberal talking point that smokers cost their neighbors money therefore it should not. 

That's right folks. You can't have universal healthcare because something less than 11% of our population smokes a cigarette every day or every other day.

'In 2022, approximately 11.6% of U.S. adults reported currently smoking cigarettes. This means that roughly 1 in 9 adults in the United States smokes. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) estimates that 28.8 million adults currently smoke cigarettes, according to the CDC.

Current cigarette smoking was defined as smoking ≥100 cigarettes during a lifetime and now smoking cigarettes either every day or some days.' source

The 11.6% number was from 2022 so since the number of smokers decreases every year it's clear that number is lower now in 2025.

In late April, the Heritage Foundation dispatched a team to Israel to meet with power players in Israeli politics, including the country’s foreign and defense secretaries and the U.S. ambassador, Mike Huckabee.

The conservative Washington-based think tank is best known for spearheading Project 2025, a proposed blueprint for President Trump’s second term that called for reshaping the federal government and an extreme expansion of presidential power.

Now the Heritage contingent was in Israel, in part, to discuss another contentious policy paper: Project Esther, the foundation’s proposal to rapidly dismantle the pro-Palestinian movement in the United States, along with its support at schools and universities, at progressive organizations and in Congress.

Drafted in the wake of Hamas’s attack on Israel in 2023 and the mounting protests against the war in Gaza, Project Esther outlined an ambitious plan to fight antisemitism by branding a broad range of critics of Israel as “effectively a terrorist support network,” so that they could be deported, defunded, sued, fired, expelled, ostracized and otherwise excluded from what it considered “open society.”

Project Esther’s architects envisioned outcomes that at the time might have seemed far-fetched. Curriculum it believed to be sympathetic to a “Hamas support” narrative would be taken out of schools and universities, and “supporting faculty” would be removed. Social media would be purged of content deemed to be antisemitic. Institutions would lose public funding. Foreign students who pushed for Palestinian rights would have their visas revoked, or be deported.

Once a sympathetic presidential administration was in place, the plan said, “We will organize rapidly, take immediate action to ‘stop the bleeding,’ and achieve all objectives within two years.”

Now, four months after Mr. Trump took office, Heritage Foundation leaders are taking an early victory lap.

US President Donald Trump’s recent Gulf tour marked a notable shift in US foreign policy in the region, emphasizing new alliances and strategies that largely left "Israel" on the sidelines, The New York Times reported.

At the Saudi royal palace, Trump met with Syria’s new leader, Ahmad al-Sharaa, and announced the lifting of longstanding US sanctions on Damascus.

“Tough guy, very strong past,” Trump said of al-Sharaa, who has a history of ties with Al Qaeda. The US president justified the move by stating he wanted "to give them a chance at greatness."

But "Israel’s" leadership has strongly opposed any recognition of the new Syrian administration. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's government has labeled al-Sharaa a “jihadist” and has warned against US normalization with Damascus...

Israeli bombs kill 132 in Gaza, hospitals in north ‘out of service’

 (Killing civilians is how the Israelis negotiate. Like bank robbers throwing dead bodies out the front door to entice the police outside to give them what they want, Israel always steps up their violent attacks on civilians just before and during talks in order to force the opposition to give them what they want. If any other nation did this they would be condemned by every government and every news agency across the Western world. But not 'the Jewish state'

Israeli forces continue bombarding Gaza, killing at least 132 Palestinians, including 36 in the so-called “safe zone” of al-Mawasi.

The intensified Israeli attacks have killed 464 people in the past week and rendered all the public hospitals in northern Gaza out of service, says the Health Ministry.

The strikes come as Israel mobilises for a new ground assault on Gaza and resumes ceasefire talks with Hamas in Qatar.

Israeli military tightens siege on north Gaza Indonesian Hospital, opens ‘random’ fire

The Israeli military has besieged the Indonesian Hospital in Beit Lahiya, northern Gaza, indiscriminately firing live ammunition at anyone within or near the premises.

Gaza Ministry of Health revealed in a statement on Sunday that the Israeli military has intensified its targeting and siege of the Indonesian Hospital since dawn.

“A state of panic and confusion prevails among patients, the wounded, and medical staff, severely hindering the provision of emergency medical care,” read the statement.

According to the ministry, this came after the European Gaza Hospital was rendered out of service a few days ago.

“The occupation is intensifying its systematic campaign to target hospitals and force them out of service,” the statement highlighted.

It also added that two patients were injured while attempting to exit the hospital.

The statement warned that the Israeli military is escalating its “systematic campaign” to target hospitals and force them out of service...
