Israeli political commentator Ran Edelist argued in a recent opinion piece in Maariv that the wars the Israeli regime is waging across Lebanon, Syria, Gaza and the West Bank are being deliberately prolonged by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his coalition partners to sustain a climate of fear through the next election, regardless of the human cost.

Edelist described the wars as "sham wars" designed to keep Israeli society anxious and consolidate political support ahead of the vote. He wrote that soldiers and civilians continue to be wounded and killed while Netanyahu and his partners operate on an "after us, the flood" logic, with electoral gain outweighing any cost in lives.

He also argued that the political opposition, despite fielding a roster of former generals, has failed to challenge this strategy publicly, calling its silence a product of deference to the military establishment rather than a genuine alternative security policy...

Israel keeps killing Gazans to push genocide death toll past 73,400

(The death toll of this genocide is MUCH HIGHER than 73k as the Israelis get away with clearing the ruble along with the bodies of the fallen civilians every single day.)

The death toll in Israel's genocidal war on Gaza has climbed to 73,417, with another 10 Palestinians were killed and 25 others wounded over the past 24 hours, the Health Ministry said Thursday.

In its daily statistical report, the ministry said Gaza hospitals received 10 bodies and 25 injured people in the past 24 hours.

The ministry did not specify the circumstances surrounding the casualties, as the Israeli army continued to violate the October 2025 cease-fire through shelling and gunfire across different parts of the territory.

Earlier reports, however, confirmed that an Israeli strike on the municipal police headquarters in Gaza City killed nine people, including a child, Wednesday.

Gaza City's al-Shifa Hospital reported the arrival of nine bodies, including a woman and a 13-year-old girl, Dana Haitham al-Jamasi. It said it also received at least 20 wounded people following the strike.

The killings pushed the death toll from Israeli violations of the truce to 1,283, while 4,248 others were injured...

Kushner-Netanyahu Meeting Ends With Agreement That Israel Will Keep Bombing Gaza

A meeting between Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and President Trump’s son-in-law, Jared Kushner, a long-time family friend of the Israeli leader, ended with an agreement that Israel will continue so-called “targeted strikes” in Gaza, Haaretz reported on Monday.

The reported agreement to allow Israel to continue attacks in Gaza comes despite Kushner holding a meeting a day earlier with Hamas officials, who said they were committed to the disarmament plan announced by President Trump and the so-called “Board of Peace.”

Later in the day, Kushner told Fox News that the US wouldn’t “restrict Israel’s right to defend itself” and that one purpose of the meeting was to “clarify what that means.” He also described the disarmament deal as a “win-win” for Israel because either Hamas disarms, or Hamas doesn’t “follow through” and then Israel would have “a lot more support from the US and others to go and finish the job.”

Also on Monday, President Trump said that Israel should “stop striking Gaza” because Hamas agreed to “lay down their weapons,” comments that Hamas welcomed, though the results of the Kushner-Netanyahu meeting suggest Trump isn’t serious about putting pressure on Israel to halt all of its attacks...

Israeli drone strike on crowded Gaza cafe kills 6 Palestinians, eyewitnesses say

Six Palestinians were killed, including a child, and over 12 others were injured Tuesday by an Israeli drone strike that targeted a crowded cafe in the port of Gaza City, Anadolu reports.

In the immediate wake of the strike, the bodies of those killed and severely injured were taken to nearby hospitals, a medical source and eyewitnesses told Anadolu Agency.

The drone attack involved the firing of at least two missiles, witnesses stated.

In a statement, the Israeli army claimed the attack had targeted Hamas commanders operating in the Al-Shati area west of Gaza City, further alleging the group had been planning attacks on its forces.

Israeli Army Radio, citing an unnamed security source, claimed the strike had targeted four Hamas commanders who had gathered at the cafe...

US Amb. Huckabee doubles down on ‘terror’ label for Israeli occupier violence

The US Amb. to Israel, Mike Huckabee, reaffirmed his condemnation Tuesday of extremist occupier violence in the occupied West Bank, asserting that the actions meet the American definition of terrorism.

“Once it involves an American citizen, then our involvement is pretty much automatic and it’s going to be significant because that’s our job,” Huckabee told Channel 12 in Israel. He noted that while Washington would otherwise only express concerns, the targeting of an American’s home in Qusra necessitated direct involvement.

Huckabee, a staunch ally of Israel, rejected pushback from Israeli officials about his terminology. “I’ll use the word terror,” he said, explaining that any act intended to put individuals in fear for their lives or force behavioral changes constitutes terrorism under US law. He emphasized that it applies whether the targets are nations, families, or specific individuals.

The remarks follow a siege of Palestinian homes in Qusra by Israeli occupiers, including one belonging to a dual US citizen. Earlier this month, the UN warned that violence by occupiers had reached unprecedented levels, reporting more than 1,430 attacks on Palestinians and their property since the start of 2026...

The impunity granted to Israel is as shocking as its violence

More incitement to violence from Israeli Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir exposes how colonial violence is aimed at the entire colonised population. Speaking on a podcast with former Israeli hostage Rom Braslavski, Ben Gvir said that Israeli forced should kill 30-40 Palestinians each night in Gaza. 

Braslavski requested to act as executioner should Ben Gvir’s plan come to pass, to which the security minister replied, “I will turn the world upside down to make that happen. I promise you that I will do everything I can and turn the world upside down until it happens.”

As shocking as the comments are, both are the product of an enterprise that knows it can only sustain itself through ethnic cleansing.

Israel’s Channel 14 branded all Palestinians killed during the genocide as terrorists. Among settlers that normalise the killings of Palestinians, and which even glorifies those murdering them, Ben Gvir’s comments are unlikely to elicit any lingering shock. On the contrary, Ben Gvir’s wish for extrajudicial killings may well find willing participants. And while Gaza remains within reach of the Israeli military in terms of extrajudicial assassinations, the occupied West Bank faces both Israeli institutions and settlers. 

Ben Gvir’s comments were aimed at Gaza, but Israel’s colonisation plans do not only include Gaza. The occupied West Bank, which faces daily violence from settlers, is much at risk from extrajudicial killings. In Ras al-Ain, south of Nablus, Israeli settlers besieged Palestinian families and cut off their electricity, water and food supplies. While attracting international attention, the UN as usual preferred to rely on its usual condemnations while Erika Guevara Ross, Amnesty International Senior Director for Research, Advocacy, Policy and Campaigns, described the siege as “an accelerating and well-documented pattern of coordinated and strategic settler terror, enabled, backed and funded by the State of Israel.” True, but what is being done with the information that is already mainstream knowledge to the rest of the world?...

Glenn Greenwald has Lost his Mind (either that or he’s just a desperate liar) (archive)

It would appear that Mr. Greenwald has gone off the deep-end so to speak and is flailing about in the dark waters of desperation trying to keep his head (and more important, his brand credibility) above water.

Glenn is running around pointing his crooked little finger at “the media” claiming they were the most daunting threat to him and his invisible boy, “Edward Snowden”, keeping them from speaking “truth to power”.

Only in a world so convoluted, where the historical record is constantly manipulated and altered daily, could such a public figure utter such contrived nonsense without being laughed off a studio set by his interviewer while the techies pelt him with random garbage.

According to Russia Today, he denounced journalists in the United States and Britain, accusing them of failing to challenge those in political power and of discrediting anyone who dared to do so.

“[W]e knew in particular that one of our most formidable adversaries was not simply going to be the intelligence agencies on which we were reporting and who we were trying to expose, but also their most loyal, devoted servants, which calls itself the United States and British media,” Greenwald said.

He said that the NSA programs came to light “almost entirely without them and despite them.” Their role as journalists, Greenwald claimed, “is not to be adversarial, their role is to be loyal spokespeople to those powerful factions that they pretend to exercise oversight.” Huffington Post

Glenn is upset because it has become obvious to most that he has taken on the role of spokesman for the privatization of the NSA, a plan once called CISPA, and to that end, he is fronting for the intelligence op running under the guise of “Edward Snowden”

Sibel Edmonds famously challenged Mr. Greenwald recently pointing out his financial interests in this little project which are considerable. A 250 million dollar “news” project hangs in the balance for Mr. Greenwald as long as he clings onto his “leaks” and manages to weather this most recent storm with his tattered brand credibility intact.

The irony of Mr. Greenwald’s claims goes beyond bold, reaching for the psychotic.

Last night on Israel’s Channel 10 news, Glenn was standing up for Israel’s demand that Pollard is released due to the Snowden Psyop.

“I think you are absolutely right to contrast the Jonathan Pollard case with Americans spying on their closest allies within the Israeli government because it does underscore the hypocrisy” Glenn Greenwald

Let’s walk this one through a bit… Pollard was arrested and convicted of selling stolen top-secret NSA files to foreign assets and handing some over for free to big-time financial interests in exchange for future profits (not to mention trying to trade some of them to various countries in exchange for them providing weapons to what would later be known as “al Qaeda”)… and Glenn is currently in the business of selling stolen top-secret NSA files to foreign assets (Der Speigel and the Guardian) and promising to hand some over to big-time financial interests in exchange for future profits (Daddy Warbuck’s “news” network)

hmmmm…..

The RT story about this latest development reads like a press release put together by Greenwald and Alan Dershowitz.  To say that it is lacking in historical facts surrounding the Jonathan Pollard case is like saying “Jaws” was a story about a big fish. It doesn’t quite do it justice.

The irony of a guy selling stolen secrets voicing his support for a guy doing time for the exact same thing, is remarkable.

You think he might have led with that story a year ago in order to help stop the madness, right? Last night Glenn Tweeted that he was going to publish his big story at midnight on his billionaire-backed website, The Intercept. The masses (and the masses of obvious influence peddling bots) were all in a frenzy. FINALLY Big Glenn was going to be the hero he has been marketing himself to be. That would silence all those Snowden Truthers and Greenwald Detractors out there!

But then… 8 hours later… came the renege:

800 companies spent $68 million dollars lobbying congress to pass CISPA this past year. The first hurdle was  the House of Representatives on April 18th of 2013. Glenn Greenwald was contacted on May 1st by Edward Snowden. Suddenly the talk is about “having the conversation” about privacy and security, the EXACT conversation that would be required in order to push something like CISPA into becoming a law.

That is, after the right crisis is created and the MSM hype it enough.

You think that’s a coincidence? That all of this is happening in a non-election year right before the bill is to go to the senate and eventually to Obama for him to sign? I don’t think so.

As many of you know, my ongoing research into the Edward Snowden psyop has been pretty extensive. As soon as the story broke, I started with one theory as to why they would stage this leak which naturally evolved into another as I learned more and more information became available.

But since the beginning, I have understood that this was and is a staged operation.

Soon you’ll be able to rank Glenn Greenwald up there with Arianna Huffington, Amy Goodman and Oprah as the biggest and richest fake liberal sell-outs to the Business Party this country has ever produced.  For the record, Clinton doesn’t count because he was always a fascist sell-out from day One.

With the help of a billionaire “philanthropist” (who’s main interest is creating “business centered solutions to the political problems in America”.. which ironically, IS THE PROBLEM with America, that’s it’s “business centered”) named Pierre Omidyar (of eBay) , Glenn is leaving his job at the Guardian to start up his own internet network providing “news’ and “journalism” to those people out there starved for more Sunshine Press Productions’ version of the “truth”

 “Glenn Greenwald, who has made headlines around the world with his reporting on U.S. electronic surveillance programs, is leaving the Guardian newspaper to join a new media venture funded by eBay founder Pierre Omidyar, according to people familiar with the matter.” Reuters

The opportunity is just so wonderful, according to Greenwald, no journalist could ever pass it by. Well, I guess that depends on what you call “journalism” Glenn.

“Greenwald did not specify what his new project would look like, describing it only as a “momentous new venture” and a “once-in-a-career-dream journalistic opportunity that no journalist could possibly decline.” He said that the site would be a general-interest outlet, that he would be responsible for its journalism output, and that it had substantial money behind it.

Speaking to the Washington Post’s Erik Wemple, Greenwald said the site would have branches in New York, Washington and San Francisco, and that it was being funded by a “particular backer.”

“It would be impossible for any journalist, let alone me, to decline this opportunity,” he added.” Huffington Post

In the interest of full disclosure, the same “particular backer” that is funding this new brand of “journalism” is partnered up with the Huffington Post on their Huffpost Hawaii brand of truth-telling. Guess that explains the glowing review of this news, huh?

In order to fully understand what this is all about, one has to first follow the money as someone once whispered in a bathroom stall.

Why has Israel escalated attacks in southern Lebanon despite ceasefire?

Lebanese leaders have condemned the Israeli bombing of southern Lebanon that has killed at least 11 people in the worst attacks since the renewal of a ceasefire was brokered in June by the United States. 

Lebanon and Israel have agreed to two truce agreements – June 4 and 26 – mediated by US President Donald Trump’s administration. June 4 ceasefire was contingent on a “complete cessation” of Hezbollah fire and the evacuation of its fighters. The June 26 framework agreement did not specifically call for the withdrawal of the Israeli forces and instead tied it to the disarmament of Hezbollah. 

The agreements came after another truce announced in April had unravelled. Both the ceasefires, opposed by Hezbollah, have not stopped the Israeli military from expanding its control over Lebanese territory and carrying out deadly attacks.

An Israeli escalation came as the Lebanese government is planning to hold another round of talks with Israel next month...

‘Brazen Act of Self-Dealing’: Trump Regulator Approves Trump Family Crypto Firm’s Bank Application

The Office of the Comptroller of the Currency, a regulatory agency whose leader was chosen by President Donald Trump, granted preliminary approval on Friday to World Liberty Financial’s application for a federal bank charter.

World Liberty Financial is a crypto venture launched in 2024 by the president’s two eldest sons, Donald Trump Jr. and Eric Trump, and several partners. The firm’s website states that WLF is 38% owned by “an entity affiliated with Donald J. Trump and certain of his family members.”

WLF applied for a US bank charter in January, drawing alarm from lawmakers and watchdogs who said the review process would be rife with conflicts of interest. “We have never seen financial conflicts or corruption of this magnitude,” Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.), the top Democrat on the Senate Banking Committee, said at the time.

Türkiye, Egypt urge stronger measures for Gaza, vow to boost cooperation

Türkiye and Egypt agreed on the need for stronger measures to address Israel's violations in Gaza as the two regional powers deepen cooperation on a range of regional crises, Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan said Thursday.

Fidan, speaking at a news conference alongside Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty in El Alamein, described Egypt as Türkiye’s “natural partner” and voiced hope that the growing relationship between Ankara and Cairo would soon evolve into a formal partnership.

“Our region has lost too much time to wars, occupations and internal conflicts. We have a significant gap to close,” Fidan said, stressing the need for closer regional cooperation.

Israel Assassinates Gaza Police Official as It Continues Violating Ceasefire

Israel assassinated a police official in Gaza on Thursday, the Quds News Network reported, as the IDF continues its constant violations of the October 2025 ceasefire deal despite President Trump recently announcing that a deal had been reached on Hamas disarmament.

The Quds report said that the official, Col. Jamal Abu Kumeil, was the chief of police in the Gaza governorate and was hit by an Israeli airstrike while traveling in a vehicle in southwestern Gaza City. Two people traveling with him were injured.

Multimedia producer Andrew Brown has claimed there is a severe mental health crisis aboard the USS Lincoln, asserting that the Navy is actively quashing reports of the unfolding emergency. In a video published on Instagram, Brown highlighted extreme conditions facing the crew, stating, "They've been deployed a total of 271 days, 250 without a port of call. That's unheard of ... They have not been to port in 38 weeks." Crowley defeated Francesca Hong by less than half of a percentage point in an election outcome that none of the statewide polls predicted. In every survey, including one Crowley's campaign paid for, Hong carried a double-digit lead in the race. 

Crowley was declared the winner by the Associated Press early Wednesday, Aug. 12, after a series of reporting delays in Milwaukee, Winnebago and Green counties. If the slim margin in unofficial results holds, it could be within the 1% threshold at which Hong could request a recount at the campaign's response... 

Crowley's win also delivers a loss to the democratic socialist movement, which has seen victories in New York, Colorado and Michigan...

Veterans For Peace Condemns Marco Rubio’s Threats Against Cuba and Against US Peace and Solidarity Activists

Veterans For Peace has issued a strong condemnation of Marco Rubio’s McCarthyite report, Cuba, the Capital of 21^st Century Communism, which was released by the State Department on July 20. The 100-page document charges Cuba with interfering in the internal affairs of the United States, while accusing U.S. peace and solidarity activists of being foreign agents of Cuba.

“Talk about turning things on their head,” responded Veterans For Peace. “It is the U.S. that has waged an economic war against Cuba for 64 years with a blockade that prevents it from normal trade relations with the U.S. and other countries, stunts its economic development, and denies it access to medicines and other essentials.

“It is the U.S. CIA that organized a failed Bay of Pigs invasion of Cuba in 1961, setting the stage for the 1962 Cuban missile crisis that almost led to a nuclear war. It is the U.S. that is currently enforcing a deadly oil embargo on Cuba, and it is the U.S. president and secretary of state who are openly threatening a U.S. military invasion of Cuba. What has Cuba ever done to the U.S.? Cuba is being punished for declaring its independence from U.S. imperialism and for attempting to develop a socialist economic model that is not based on exploitation and profiteering.

“We reject the Trump administration’s sudden return to “anti-communism” as a means of undermining the credibility of its political opponents — whether from the Democratic Party or actual left-wing organizations. Israeli ministers push to resume Gaza offensive, reject cease-fire plan

Israeli ministers are pressing for renewed military operations in the Gaza Strip and urging the government to reject a roadmap for the second phase of U.S. President Donald Trump's cease-fire plan, Israeli media reported Friday.

The calls came during a meeting of Israel’s Security Cabinet, chaired by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, on Thursday evening to discuss the roadmap for the plan’s second phase, according to the Israel Hayom newspaper.

Since the ceasefire agreement took effect on Oct. 10, 2025, Israel has continued to violate the deal through daily attacks on Gaza, killing 1,252 Palestinians and injuring 4,120 others, most of them women and children.

Last Friday, the Trump-chaired Peace Council announced that Hamas had approved the roadmap, while Israel was still considering its position.

Ministers Ze’ev Elkin, Bezalel Smotrich, Orit Strock and Avi Dichter called during the Cabinet meeting for the resumption of military offensive in Gaza, Israel Hayom reported.

"If Israel does not launch offensive operations for two weeks, it would mean that it has accepted the plan,” Elkin said, calling for a formal rejection of the roadmap’s provisions.

Smotrich, Strock and Dichter demanded that Netanyahu issue an official statement confirming Israel’s opposition to implementing the plan’s second phase, according to the report.

"You are good at maneuvering, but after the issuance of an official document, we must delegitimize it. We cannot continue maneuvering,” Smotrich told Netanyahu.

"Hamas must not remain. It must be erased,” he added...

Israeli prime minister rejects Trump’s 15-point plan for Gaza

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Sunday rejected a 15-point plan approved by US President Donald Trump’s Board of Peace for Gaza, insisting that Israeli forces will not withdraw from the Palestinian territory until Hamas is disarmed, Anadolu reports.

“Israel rejects the 15-point document published by the Board of Peace for Gaza,” Netanyahu said in a video statement after the start of a Cabinet meeting, as cited by the daily Yedioth Ahronoth.

“The Israeli army will not carry out any withdrawal until Hamas is disarmed,” he added.

The Israeli premier said the disarmament must include “the heavy weapons, the less heavy weapons,” claiming that Israel wants “real disarmament, not fake disarmament.”

He said Israel is holding talks with the US on the issue, adding that Washington has proposed several ideas, “some of them are acceptable to us and some are not acceptable to us.”

​​​​​​​The rejection came after the Board of Peace released a draft agreement on 31 July outlining principles and implementation mechanisms for the next phase of Trump’s Gaza plan. The draft includes security, administrative and transitional arrangements for the enclave, as well as a proposed political track.

In a statement released on Sunday, Hamas said it remained committed to responsibly implementing the agreed terms under the 15 provisions and establishing a clear timetable for their implementation.

Iran sets six conditions for reopening the Strait of Hormuz

Secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council Mohammad Baqer Zolqadr has set out six conditions for the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz, saying the strategic waterway will remain closed until the United States changes its hostile conduct toward Iran. 

In a message released on Saturday, Zolqadr said, “Until America corrects its behavior, the Strait of Hormuz will not be reopened.”

He outlined six measures that would constitute a change in US policy toward the country:

1. End threats and insults against Iran, including any threats to the country’s national and religious sanctities.
2. Permanently end the war and aggression against Iran and its allies in Lebanon, Palestine, Yemen and Iraq.
3. Lift the naval blockade and withdraw US military forces, including naval and air forces, from around Iran.
4. Fully compensate Iran for damages caused by 'two wars of aggression and imposition.'
5. Lift all “unjust and illegal” sanctions imposed on the Iranian people.
6. Unconditionally release Iranian assets that were blocked and stolen.

The senior security official said the six points represented the demands of the Iranian people, who had expressed their position through an ongoing presence “on the battlefield and in the streets” for 160 days.

“The Supreme National Security Council will never back down, neither in war nor in negotiations,” Zolqadr said.

His statement comes amid ongoing diplomatic efforts concerning arrangements for the Strait of Hormuz, a vital international shipping corridor whose reopening has become a central issue in discussions involving Iran, Oman and other regional and international actors.

Throughout history, almost every national liberation struggle has been labelled “terrorism” by the powers exercising colonial rule or foreign occupation. This strategy is nothing new.

The British Empire branded IRA fighters in Ireland and EOKA guerrillas in Cyprus as terrorists. France portrayed Algeria’s National Liberation Front (FLN) as a criminal organisation. The same happened to the Mozambique Liberation Front (FRELIMO), the People’s Movement for the Liberation of Angola (MPLA), the South West Africa People’s Organisation (SWAPO) in Namibia, and even Nelson Mandela’s African National Congress (ANC).

History, however, vindicated these movements and condemned the colonial regimes that sought to perpetuate their domination.

This pattern reveals a constant: those who occupy a territory seek to strip the occupied people of any legitimacy to resist.

This narrative, however, encounters clear limits within international law itself.

From the United Nations Charter to Resolution 1514 (XV) on decolonisation and Resolution 2625 (XXV), which reaffirms the principle of peoples’ self-determination, the understanding has been consolidated that peoples subjected to colonial domination, foreign occupation or racist regimes have the right to struggle for their liberation.

Several subsequent resolutions of the United Nations General Assembly recognised the legitimacy of national liberation movements and acknowledged that such resistance may take the form of armed struggle, provided that it remains subject to the rules of international humanitarian law.

This is precisely why the international community has never automatically equated national liberation movements with terrorist organisations. 

However, it does not eliminate the political and legal right of a people to resist occupation. Confusing these two dimensions serves only the interests of occupying powers, because it transforms a conflict of a political and legal nature into a mere policing matter.

A Democratic-led push would prohibit companies from selling prioritized access to government officials’ social media posts, targeting Trump Media & Technology Group’s new Truth API service and the information advantage it offers institutional investors.

Truth API provides financial institutions, news organizations and high-frequency trading firms with a direct, machine-readable feed of posts from President Donald Trump and other influential Truth Social accounts. Access reportedly costs between $60,000 and $100,000 per month. The service went live Aug. 1 and delivers posts within milliseconds, potentially allowing trading algorithms to respond before most investors receive push notifications or manually refresh the platform.

The service does not provide posts before they are publicly published. Trump Media says the posts are public when they enter the API, while critics argue the speed advantage still creates a two-tiered system for access to potentially market-moving presidential communications. 

Senate Democrats argue that allowing the president’s company to charge for faster delivery of statements about tariffs, military actions, companies and other matters affecting financial markets creates conflicts of interest and could undermine market integrity. The legislation would restrict the purchase, sale or exchange of prioritized information derived from government officials’ social media communications. 

Truth API was announced July 16 and became available to institutional customers Aug. 1. Trump Media described it as a licensed, real-time data feed designed for organizations most affected by delays in receiving information, including algorithmic and high-frequency trading firms. The company said it had signed customers before the launch.

Sen. Alex Padilla (D-CA) introduced S. 5221 on Aug. 3 with Sens. Richard Blumenthal (D-CN), Sheldon Whitehouse (D-RI) and Gary Peters (D-MI) as original cosponsors, according to the Legis1 bill record. The proposal would prohibit transactions involving nonpublic or prioritized information derived from government officials’ social media accounts.

By Sunday, Israeli airstrikes killed at least 26 more Palestinians. An entire family was erased in Khan Younis.

While most of the world tries to ignore the atrocities in Gaza because they have apparently become bored with the sheer volume of suffering, Palestinian factions coordinate through regional intermediaries and the Board of Peace, who pass drafts to Washington, which finally attempts to lobby Tel Aviv.

Public agreements are apparently announced long before the Israeli cabinet even sees the draft.

On August 4, Netanyahu released a video torching the American narrative.

He stated flatly that Israel would not withdraw until Hamas was "wiped out." He confirmed Israel never agreed to the draft. The "historic" deal was dead before it was born.

The Board of Peace did not push back. Envoy Nikolay Mladenov emerged from a meeting with Netanyahu to announce a common understanding of goals.

The withdrawal that was supposed to be simultaneous became conditional on decommissioning being completed first. The word "full" vanished from the withdrawal language.

A disarmament-for-withdrawal sequence was rewritten into a disarmament-first trap designed to stretch across a decade.

When Marco Rubio gathered representatives from 66 countries in Washington in July, his aim was clear and aggressive: target the “resurgence of far-left terrorism.”

Framing the threat as a global emergency, the U.S. secretary of state called on intelligence agencies and security forces around the world to unite to “crush this evil forever.” 

“We can, and we must, identify and map this threat and rebuild our counterterrorism architecture to defeat it,” Rubio warned attendees. “Just as we have done together before, now we must do it together again.”

Referencing various left-wing guerrilla and political organisations that were active across Latin America in the 20th century, he added:

“Every one of our friends here from the nations of the Western Hemisphere remember — remember the decades of kidnappings and bombings and assassinations and executions, the violent terror of the Tupamaros, of the Montoneros, of the FARC, of the ELN.”

Outside the conference room, the State Department was making the same point to the wider American public.

It released a document on the same topic, which used extremely vague data to draw parallels between the Latin American guerrillas of the 1960s and 1970s and very different situations in Europe and the U.S. to demonstrate that “left-wing terrorism” exists — and has previously been “defeated.”

In Latin America, this messaging amounts to an open endorsement of the state terrorism and genocide that 20th-century military dictatorships and regional repressive coordination efforts — such as Plan Condor, an illegal operation by military regimes in Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Paraguay and Uruguay to capture and disappear political opponents across borders — deployed to combat the guerrillas.

Rubio’s threat appears clear: Washington is willing to repeat that extreme state violence — and the egregious human rights violations it led to — in order to stop modern-day “left-wing terrorists.”
