Last night John Oliver dedicated 30+ minutes of his weekly show Last Week Tonight to putting out a call for the removal of Benjamin Netanyahu as Prime Minister of Israel.
I will discuss this further in this morning's video but I wanted to state for the record, this was a surprisingly comprehensive expose of Bibi's career and the disastrous consequences of it on both Palestine and Israel.
He blows over the assassination of Yitzhak Rabin making it seem he was only marginally responsible for it due to the campaign rally he held just before it where he marched in front of a mock coffin for the current prime minister at the time and the man who was in the process of declaring statehood for Palestine.
Oliver also seems to ignore the convenient timing of the 'Hamas terror attacks' that happened just afterward and right before the election that would bring Bibi to power for the first time with a mandate to make sure Palestine was wiped from the map once and for all.
There is a lot I can and will say about this show of John's but I will leave that for my video however I will say, there are a lot of folks who will tell you to stop calling for Bibi to be removed because, according to them, it's all Israelis, not just Netanyahu that's the problem.
Though that is superficially correct, you need to understand, some may tell you it's not worth tying to climb Everest if you can't do it the first day and be home for supper that night.
It's one step at a time folks. One painful, long, tiring, draining, soul-crushing step at a time that takes you anywhere worth being.
To that end I post Oliver's video and urge you to watch it and share with others. It's worth your time.
Interesting, as Oliver has usually been a simp for the MIC. His wife used to work for a pro-war advocacy group, Vets for Freedom, once run by Hegseth, and his writing partner at the Daily Show was Marine propaganda officer Rob Riggle. He did a whole episode pushing the North Korea wants to nuke us bit to sell weapons systems to South Korea. So does mean the larger MIC is now throwing Bibi under the bus, and if so, why? Or did Oliver really just grow a conscience? Still good that this is getting some coverage.
