Back during the days of the illegal invasion of Iraq, the old “Shock and Awe” era which predated the “humanitarian intervention” spell we live in now, a spin doctor (glorified toothpaste salesmen who think they rule the world with they can lie and tell half-truths like a developmentally challenged 12 year old) was passing a statue of Saddam when he suddenly saw it as a target of opportunity to spin up some “hearts and minds” propaganda for the folks back home who were wincing at the images of bombs exploding in civilian neighborhoods while talking heads for the MSM gushed verbal ejaculations about how wonderful and impressive it all was.
The result was the staged event where the propagandists got their “curve-ball” Iraqi sympathizers to run around pretending to cheer as the statue was pulled to the ground. Flags were waved, U.S. flags that is, and “Iraqis” chanted their lines about how “freedom” had been brought to their country.
Here’s a picture of the production.
At one point during the performance, they had an Iraqi with a sledgehammer hitting the base of the statue. Very dramatic, right?
What turned out to be actually happening was a very small group of Iraqi expats who helped fabricate WMD “evidence” for the Bush administration, were running around the statue as the U.S. propaganda team used a couple tanks and some U.S. soldiers as props for their infomercial.
This is what the carefully staged scene actually looked like.
Today we have another big “hearts and minds” event unfolding in Ukraine.
And it seems they figured they would borrow a bit of stage magic from the Iraqi debacle. Here’s the headline from the fake left Huffington Post “Kiev Protesters Toppled Lenin Statue” and of course, here’s the pic:
The current color revolution in Ukraine is coming unglued. They are losing the “hearts and minds” of people outside the country because most of us understand it for what it is. The Ukrainian government refused to sign a deal with the European Union and are taking steps to align themselves more with Russia and China (since they don’t demand the blood of the peasants like the U.S. and the IMF do when they make their deals) and so suddenly, the petty bourgeoisie in the country along with the wanna-be oligarchs and sell-outs are trying to stage a fake “revolution” in order to affect yet another regime change.
This image is so full of fail, it’s pathetic. But it’s not the only marketing campaign the spin doctor technocrats over there have offered up recently.
After a series of images and videos surfaced showing the rabid protesters attacking security forces with cobble stones and pepper spray, someone in the public relations division of their color revolution decided to try to put a friendlier, more stable seeming face to the protests themselves.
Here are the protesters attacking the police. Notice the officers don’t respond in kind in the way the provocateurs wanted.
This was the face of the Ukrainian Color Revolution of 2013 for a while. Clearly it didn’t serve the interests of the propagandists, making their “protesters” look like rabid fascist thugs for hire (which is what they are)
So, they then staged this little gem…
They rolled out a piano and started playing on it in front of the security forces. See that? They’re so peaceful. Aren’t they?
They tried to get a no-confidence vote on the current government, but that failed, so now they’re doing what they can to spin up some kind, ANY kind of legitimacy for their “cause”. It seems they’re failing miserably.
If they actually have to resort to stealing ideas from the old Bush Iraq WMD days, that means it’s pretty much over for that color revolution and the marketing interns who are waging it.
Maybe they should have paid the extra few dollars to get Tony Cartalucci to throw his “independent journalism” clout behind it instead of renting the stupid piano. Just a thought.
