ReplyDeleteSimple example, & beyond outrageous is iran has been the west's whipping boy for over 40 YEARS now, since 1979, and has had various funds frozen in the int'l banking system for that long! Yet somehow putin thought he was above that happening to him because, well, he's well-connected thru his 200 or so plutocrat buddies!
And far worse, for a measly few % of the amount 'frozen', he could have openly bought honest money, silver, on the open market and had silver roubles circulating inside among the plebes, perhaps say $10B worth (with 160MM pop, that would be about $60 worth of silver rubles per capita), so it first of all can't be frozen by anyone, AND would be used daily for low-cost pedestrian household items, especially including during any currency crisis of the paper ruble like they saw fortunately short just a month ago.

How is it this event warrants jumping the queue for a unsc meeting today, whereas there should have been a follow-up meeting called long before now to the original biolab unsc meeting weeks ago already.
