An Israeli airstrike targeting a family home at a refugee camp in central Gaza has killed at least 31 people, a hospital in the Palestinian territory said Sunday.
The attack comes as U.S. National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan was visiting Israel for talks on its brutal conflict and post-war scenarios.
Army troops have moved in on Gaza's crowded far-southern city of Rafah, where the U.N. says 800,000 civilians have been newly displaced by the fighting.
But Israel has also bombed Hamas positions in northern and central areas of Gaza previously considered to be under army control, sparking U.S. warnings that the military could become mired in a lengthy counterinsurgency campaign.
