The following info is a bit of a deeper dive into my previous 'and 539 'civilians'' article. I am using it as a reference for a video I am in the process of making.
Israel social security data reveals true picture of Oct 7 deaths
' A more precise picture of Hamas's October 7 attack on Israel has emerged from social security data, confirming the unprecedented scale of the violence but also challenging some initial testimonies.
The final death toll from the attack is now thought to be 695 Israeli civilians, including 36 children, as well as 373 security forces and 71 foreigners, giving a total of 1,139.' France 24
'So far, 604 soldiers have been killed on or since October 7' Jerusalem Post April 2024
'More than 600 Israeli soldiers have been killed since Hamas launched its surprise attack on Oct. 7' AP May 14 2024Israeli military opens probe into reports of Oct. 7 friendly fire deaths
'The left-wing daily Haaretz said the investigation centred on an incident in Kibbutz Be'eri, one of the worst hit communities, in which a house was shelled by a tank, killing 12 Israeli hostages held by Palestinian Hamas gunmen.' Reuters
US audiences being shielded from reports of IDF killing Israeli civilians on Oct 7 2023
'In the wake of October 7, after Israel began its genocidal campaign against Gaza, reports began to emerge from the Israeli press of incidents in which Israeli troops made decisions to fire on Hamas targets regardless of whether Israeli civilians were present.
That the IDF’s initial reaction was chaotic at best is well-documented. Much of the early military response came from the air, with little information for pilots and drone operators to distinguish targets but orders to shoot anyway (Grayzone, 10/27/23 ). Citing a police source, Haaretz (11/18/23 ) reported that at the Supernova music festival site, “an IDF combat helicopter that arrived to the scene and fired at terrorists there apparently also hit some festival participants.” But there are also mainstream Israeli media reports that credibly suggest the IDF may have implemented a policy to sacrifice Israeli hostages.' Israeli civilian vehicles burned way beyond what hand held ordinances Hamas might have had could do were swiftly removed to a controlled location and then shredded and crushed and eventually buried in a Jewish cemetery in Israel so they could never be dug up and tested for high explosive residue pitted deeply into the metal. Residue which would prove the civilians in the vehicles were killed by drones and attack helicopters, not Hamas.
Israeli military intelligence chief quits over Hamas-led October 7 attacks
' The Israeli military intelligence chief has resigned over his “leadership responsibility” for the Hamas-led October 7 attacks into southern Israel, which led to the killing of 1,200 people and another 250 kidnapped. Maj. Gen. Aharon Haliva is the first senior military figure to step down over the Hamas attacks on October 7, which was the deadliest day for Israel since its founding. ' CNN April 2024Did he resign because he and other Israeli leaders were given a warning about Palestinian plans for this attack more than a year before it happened but they dismissed the warning saying the plans were merely 'aspirational' or did he resign because he knew an investigation would continue which would show just how many Israeli civilians were actually killed by the IDF and not Hamas?
It looks like the number of civilians killed on Oct 7th is closer to 695 than 539. I was a little off but 1,200 is much further off.
However, we don't know two things:
- how many of the 695 were armed and fighting Palestinians
- how many were actually killed by IDF soldiers, tanks, helicopters and drones. The level of decimation of the vehicles on the roads lends one to believe that number could be very high indeed.
