Ocasio-Cortez' Neoliberal "Green New Deal" is a New TARP Bailout and ObamaCare Rolled into One

by Scott Creighton

Like ObamaGod before her, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is a neoliberal and she is being groomed for higher office, of that you can be sure.

She was trained in the art of neoliberal economic ideology and international relations at Boston University, one of the most expensive schools in the country (est. $300,000 for her degree) and one that exclusively teaches neoliberal economic ideology in it's economics department. She graduated with honors. Apparently the neoliberal staff (4 of the most highly respected neoliberal economists of the world teach there) thought very highly of her and have high hopes for her future.

Then she started pretending she was just a socialist "girl from the Bronx" because let's face it, claiming to be a silver-spooner centrist neoliberal wont get anyone elected to anything these days. And that's just a fact.

As we come to learn that Big Oil actually helped write the Paris Climate Accord in an effort (successful) to ensure the accord was a "market based" approach, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez has submitted for congressional approval her own (somewhat plagiarized) version of the Green Party's so-called "Green New Deal" and guess what? It's almost entirely "market based" as well.

When you bring "industry insiders" into any political process these days, what you end up with is the repeal of Glass-Steagall or TARP or ObamaCare the endless Global War OF Terror because industry insiders want to make sure, they are there to make sure, their industry's top institutions will profit from said process to the fullest extent possible.

Mussolini had a name for that type of governance but we can't mention anymore kinda like an addict can't look in the mirror... but it starts with an "f" if that helps.

Here are a few quotes from Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez' outline of her Green New Deal Committee proposal:
The Plan shall "iv: include additional measures such as basic income programs, universal health care programs and any others as the select committee may deem appropriate to promote economic security, labor market flexibility and entrepreneurism; and..."
Notice she calls for the committee to determine what sort of universal healthcare programs they deem appropriate for "economic security"

What does that mean? It means if they feel it will hurt the profitability of Big Insurance, they can leave that part out... until of course another ObamaCare fraud can be cobbled together so Big Insurance can cash in on it.

Also notice that little phrase "labor market flexibility"  Do you know what that comes from? That's neoliberal economic ideology. She just can't help herself.
"‘Flexibility’ becomes the watchword with respect to labour markets...

Flexible employment arrangements can indeed be sometimes mutually beneficial, he adds. However, its effects on the whole concerning insurance coverage, pension rights, wage levels, and job security are by no means positive."  Neoliberalism, Flexibility, and Postmodernism
Flexible work-forces are a key aspect of neoliberal economic ideology. Along with deregulation and "free markets", flexible work-forces makes up the foundation upon which neoliberal economies thrive for the oligarchs.

Another key aspect of neoliberal economic ideology is the concept of entrepreneurism being enabled by state funds. Kind of a socialism for the rich so to speak.
"What is neoliberalism? Harvey defines it as “a theory of political economic practices that proposes that human well-being can best be advanced by liberating individual entrepreneurial freedoms and skills within an institutional framework characterized by strong private property rights, free market, and free trade.” Neoliberalism, Flexibility, and Postmodernism
This is Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez inserting neoliberal loopholes, buzzwords and dog-whistles into the legislation in order to make sure the congress critters who will end up voting on it understand she is actually one of their own (the Washington Consensus)

Let's have a look at a few more quotes from her proposal:
"decarbonizing the manufacturing, agricultural and other industries"
"funding massive investment in the drawdown and capture of greenhouse gases"
This is code for a carbon tax credit scheme, cap and trade, something Big Oil, Big Business and investment banks have been wanting for quite a long time.
"To hear him tell it, their involvement has been wildly successful. “We have had a process running for four years for the need of carbon unit trading to be part of the Paris agreement. We can take some credit for the fact that Article 6 [of the Paris agreement] is even there at all,” Hone said at an IETA side event within the Katowice, Poland, conference center. “We put together a straw proposal. Many of the elements of that straw proposal appear in the Paris agreement. We put together another straw proposal for the rulebook, and we saw some of that appear in the text.” Shell Oil Executive Boasts That His Company Influenced the Paris Agreement
Carbon trading units will do nothing to help the environment. They will make the privately owned companies that install the capture systems super wealthy and Ocasio-Cortez suggests YOU pay for the systems the same way we pay for BANKER BAILOUTS, WARS and QUANTITATIVE EASING:
"Many will say, “Massive government investment! How in the world can we pay for this?” The answer is: in the same ways that we paid for the 2008 bank bailout and extended quantitative easing programs, the same ways we paid for World War II and many other wars. The Federal Reserve can extend credit to power these projects and investments, new public banks can be created (as in WWII) to extend credit and a combination of various taxation tools (including taxes on carbon and other emissions and progressive wealth taxes) can be employed"  Green New Deal Committee proposal
Right. A massive bill paid for by the people, to cover the costs of creating a carbon credit scheme that private business owners, banksters and Big Business will profit from... while it does little to nothing to help the environment.
Major UNFCCC carbon trading scheme hit by serious corruption allegations involving organised crime in Russia and Ukraine
Emissions scheme wastes millions on projects that would have gone ahead anyway
Ocasio-Cortez' plan is full of demands to allow business insiders into the room as the full bill of the Green New Deal is written. Over and over again she makes sure that point is understood by the congress critters who serve the very interests of the industries that supposedly cause "global warming" in the first place.
"The plan shall: be prepared in consultation with experts and leaders from business, labor, state and local governments, academia and broadly representative civil society groups and communities;

"be driven by the federal government, in collaboration, co-creation and partnership with business, labor, state and local governments, research institutions and civil society groups and communities;"

"the select committee shall have the authority to investigate, study, make findings, convene experts and leaders from industry, academia, local communities, labor, finance, technology and any other industry or group that the select committee deems to be a relevant resource.
Though not perfect, the New Deal created things like:
  • the Agricultural Adjustment Act
  • the Tennessee Valley Authority Act
  • Works Progress Administration (WPA)
  •  the National Labor Relations Act
  •  Social Security Act of 1935
  • the National Industrial Recovery Act (guaranteed that workers would have the right to unionize and bargain collectively for higher wages and better working conditions)
  • the Home Owners’ Loan Act
  • 12 other major laws, including the Glass-Steagall Act
Though flawed, the New Deal put people back to work, it didn't empower Big Business, Big Banking and Big Oil like Ocasio-Cortez' "Green New Deal" proposal does.

There is no question that this proposal of hers would be better titled "the Kinda Greenish New Banker Bailout or ObamaCare Deal"

As clearly flawed as her "Green New Deal" is, it required some immediate spin from fake progressive outlets like the Intercept to help green-wash it's OBVIOUS neoliberal globalist agenda.
"Like its 1930s counterpart, the “Green New Deal” isn’t a specific set of programs so much as an umbrella under which various policies might fit, ranging from technocratic to transformative." With a Green New Deal, Here’s What the World Could Look Like for the Next Generation
Actually, the New Deal was VERY specific including things like unemployment insurance, jobs programs run by the government where profits wouldn't be skimmed off the top and regulations that needed to be put in place to keep Big Banking from wrecking the economy again (until Clinton did away with them)

What does "technocratic" mean? It means "relating to or characterized by the government or control of society or industry by an elite of technical experts"

Do neoliberals employ "technocrats"? The Chicago Boys, the IMF, the World Bank... folks taught neoliberal economics at places like the Chicago School of Economics and the London School of Economics would be considered "technocrats" like those who destroyed so many economies over the course of the last few decades across Latin America, Central America and Asia.

Also folks schooled in economics and international affairs at Boston University might be considered "technocrats" as well I guess.

What a coincidence.
"The Green New Deal, he added, “touches everything — it’s basically a massive system upgrade for the economy. With a Green New Deal, Here’s What the World Could Look Like for the Next Generation
Well, if that doesn't sound like the economic Brick dropped on the people of Chile, I don't know what does.
"Waleed Shahid, communications director for Justice Democrats, which is backing the Green New Deal proposal, told me, “Given the fossil fuel industry’s role in creating an untenable situation for billions of people around the world, the government should step up and promote winners and create losers, which has happened before in the United States.” With a Green New Deal, Here’s What the World Could Look Like for the Next Generation

That is the TARP Bankster Bailout and what it ended up doing was funneling wealth upward, into the hands of the very institutions that created the sub-prime mortgage crisis in the first place. Great idea there, huh?

This is not a New Deal plan nor is it even close. It's what neoliberal globalists created the Global Warming scam for in the first place: a massive system overhaul into a locked down neoliberal economy and a society that will ensure it remains intact as the French people riot in Paris in opposition to the one being imposed on them.

Folks have had a hard time understanding what Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez really is. Is she a socialist who trained at one of the best and most expensive neoliberal teaching institutions in the world or is she a wolf in sheep's clothing like Bill Clinton and Barack Obama before her?

I think this proposal of hers lays bare her truer nature.

You can pretend all you want to be the reincarnation of Eugene Debs , Huey Long or Henry Wallace all you want but in the end people are going to see you for what you are... the soulless love-child of Margaret Thatcher and Ronald Reagan.

And no amount of Green-washing can stop it. The truth will out.
