Fueled by President Obama practically weeping yesterday because he’s not allowed to cancel the 2nd amendment “even in the face of mass killings“, the complicit media is doing whatever they can to tie the drifter, lone-wolf, wife-beating, gay-hating, Iran-loving, media-sceptical, Obama-hating, Hitler-loving, conspiracy theorist, extremist, SSRI-taking nutjob to any and all current ObamaGod agendas.

And as they pile on the background tidbits, they’re starting to make no sense what-so-ever. His family life is just a bizarre collection of evictions, mental hospitals, fights, feuds and anything else they can come up with.

Here’s the story as best as I can figure it.

Some of us out here discovered he wasn’t actually a “drifter” but in fact had a home in the same city he has been claiming online as recently as late last year. The house is very nice and apparently still the home of his “estranged” wife.

 

I noticed on Google Street view that the home had a confederate flag flying in the front yard and Raw Story and other big name news agencies picked up on that pretty quick. In fact, my screen-grab from Google Street view is on Raw Story’s front page. They linked back to my article about the finding the flag in front of the home he listed as his address.

It would appear that Barack O’Bush is just going to continue in the same fashion as the previous administration; making glorious statements and rules that all of his supporters cheer as “Change”, and then just go right on doing the exact same thing anyway, knowing full well that the majority of his supporters won’t believe it and that the story (if covered at all) will die out soon enough anyway.

Mr. Obama has said that no one in his administration who has lobbied on a set of issues within the past two years can deal with the same subject matter. The president has already approved a few exceptions. CBS News

Aside from being a wealthy tax-cheat who would have gone to jail for his actions, had he been anyone BUT a connected politician, apparently Tom Daschle, Obama’s pick for Health and Human Services secretary, was a well paid member of a lobbying firm that worked for the very industries that he would be dealing with everyday.

Matt Taibbi describes the sub-prime loan demolition conducted by the terrorist banksters this way: like putting a fresh coat of paint on a junkyard car and selling it as new to unsophisticated buyers.

I describe Matt’s “breaking news story” this way: like putting a fresh coat of paint on a junkyard car and selling it as “new” to Amy Goodman.

Yes, Matt Taibbi is back at Rolling Stone after his prime-time fallout with Glenn Greenwald’s CIA/USAID linked billionaire, Pierre Omidyar. He has a new “big story” out on Rolling Stone’s website in which he pretends to break a news story that’s been out for years – big banking sold toxic assets to various institutions in order to demolish the economy and profit from it.

This moment illustrates the most basic element of the case against Chase: The bank knowingly peddled products stuffed with scratch-and-dent loans to investors without disclosing the obvious defects with the underlying loans. Rolling Stone

Wow. Gee thanks Matt. Of course, Matt doesn’t tell you they did it on purpose in order to neoliberalize the country like so many other Economic Hitmen have done across the globe to so many other nations. Nah, he forgets that little part.

It's called Limited Hangout Controlled Opposition.

Cenk Uygur interviews Matt Taibbi about his new article in Rolling Stone magazine which looks at how few (one) of these criminal bankers and financial CEOs have been prosecuted for their blatant criminality over the past 12 years or so. In the end, Taibbi finally suggests that the reason no one got prosecuted as they should have was because of  the “revolving door” in Washington regulatory circles. Bullshit.

Bullshit, bullshit, bullshit, bullshit, bullshit.. (and for that international flair…) bullshito

The revolving door, where people leave regulatory positions to go to work for the people and the institutions they failed to regulate, is a PERK… it is NOT the problem itself.  It certainly should be against the law, but the revolving door as the answer to what happened is a sickening oversimplification of the situation and it fails to bring the larger problem to light.

These people were doing what they were told to do.

Last night, after seeing chatter about Google/Alphabet’s much-ballyhooed new AI tool, Gemini, I checked for myself.

Any product rollout disastrous enough to cause a one-day share drop of 4.4% for a firm with a $1.73 trillion market capitalization must be quite a spectacle, I thought. Matt Walsh’s recap was worth it just for the look on his face.

Chuckling to start, by the end of the night I wasn’t laughing, unprepared as I was for certain horrifying if lesser-publicized quirks of “the Gemini era.”

Most of Gemini’s initial bad press surrounded the machine’s image generator. Socially conscious engineers created an AI that apparently couldn’t or wouldn’t generate images of white faces. Commentators mocked renderings of words like “pope,” “Viking,” and “1943 German soldier,” all of which turned simple visual concepts into bizarre DEI-inspired re-boots.

A Google-sympathetic Verge article with an all-time memorable headline (“Google apologizes for ‘missing the mark’ after Gemini generated racially diverse Nazis”) tried to explain. Noting the controversy “has been promoted largely… by right-wing figures,” the author cited a Washington Post story, “This is how AI image generators see the world,” that showed potential problems with stereotypes. AI products turned prompts for “attractive people” into “young and light-skinned” images, while people “at social services” were shown as black, and “productive person” was almost always a white image.

Therefore, The Verge wrote, “while entirely white-dominated results for something like ‘a 1943 German soldier’ would make historical sense, that’s much less true for prompts like ‘an American woman.’”

Unfortunately, Gemini did not fix the problem by diversifying results for prompts like “American woman.” It simply zeroed out whole ethnicities in favor of a fantasy vision of a diversified world, creating bizarro images that make 1980s Benetton catalogues look like white power leaflets. The Verge piece ended with a shot of its request to “generate a picture of a US senator from the 1800s”:..
