Venezuela’s opposition leader Machado returns after months in exile, as doubts over democracy deepen

(Delcy has no authority to rule in Venezuela. Their Supreme Court gave her 90 days but said after that the legislature would have to vote to extend it which they didn't. Marco Rubio says they need time to fully neoliberalize the country and 'rebuild the institutions' in the country to better suit our oligarchs and corporations before allowing them to have some democracy. The people are getting sick of watching the traitor who handed over Maduro sell off the resources of the country to outside interests and thus we need to do something to get them focused on something, anything other than a full on revolution against our puppet Delcy. So here we have Machado coming back to great fanfare promising to reclaim the nation's soverenty, clawing back what Delcy has sold off to America. The only problem is, Machado is just another American puppet, this one gave her tarnished Peace Prize to TrumpyBear to win his favor. The whole thing is as obvious as Diaper Don's orange makeup and in spite of the glowing reports from outlets like the AP, I doubt the Venezuelan people are dumb enough to fall for it.)

from the AP

Opposition leader and Nobel laureate María Corina Machado reappeared in Venezuela Sunday for the first time since December, returning from exile at a time when doubts about the country’s democratic future — and the role of the U.S. — are growing.

It was her first appearance since the U.S. military deposed the country’s then-President Nicolás Maduro in January, replacing him with an interim president who has exceeded the time she was authorized to serve, with no election scheduled.

Machado announced her arrival on social media, writing, “I am here. With you.”

Another leading figure in the Venezuelan opposition, Edmundo González, wrote on X that he would be at her side “very soon.”

“Today is a very important day for Venezuelans,” he wrote. “Our sovereign voice returns with her to lead and guide this process!”...

Venezuela’s Delcy Rodríguez defends ‘endless’ benefits of her oil deal with Trump

from The Guardian

Deal that will reportedly see US take control of 65bn barrels of Venezuelan oil has provoked outrage in her country.

Venezuela’s interim president, Delcy Rodríguez, has defended her government’s highly controversial energy deal with Donald Trump, insisting the South American country will maintain ownership and sovereignty over its massive oil reserves.

Rodríguez, who assumed power in January after Trump ordered the abduction of the president, Nicolás Maduro, took to the airwaves on Saturday to push back against criticism of what the US president has called “the biggest oil deal in world history”.

“The benefits are endless,” claimed Rodríguez, a former vice-president whom Trump backed after ordering Maduro’s capture during a special forces raid on the capital, Caracas.

During a six-minute television broadcast, Venezuela’s acting leader claimed the deal would help her resource-rich country develop its economy, earn revenues of more than $209bn (£154bn), and become “an energy powerhouse”...

But the deal has provoked outrage, both among members of Venezuela’s opposition and within the Chavismo political movement of which Rodríguez is part.

Speaking on Friday, one prominent opposition figure, who asked not to be named, called the agreement “a massive land grab” by a “rapacious, mafioso United States”.

Writing on X, Rafael Ramírez, the former head of Venezuela’s state-owned oil company PDVSA, accused Rodríguez’s administration of “driving a dagger straight into the heart of the homeland” with the “neocolonial” transaction. “They are handing over 65bn barrels of our reserves to the United States. That has never happened in Venezuela, and I think nowhere else in the world,” Ramírez added in an interview with the newspaper El Nacional.

On Saturday, dozens of leftwing protesters marched through Caracas with banners reading: “We are neither a colony, nor a back yard” and “Yankees go home!”

Critics of the agreement shared an ironic meme on social media suggesting the state oil company’s name should be changed from PDVSA to “PDUSA”...

Venezuela’s Delcy Rodríguez assured US of cooperation before Maduro’s capture

from the Guardian

Before the US military snatched Venezuela’s president, Nicolás Maduro, earlier this month, Delcy Rodríguez and her powerful brother pledged to cooperate with the Trump administration once the strongman was gone, four sources involved at high levels with the discussions told the Guardian.

Rodríguez, who was sworn in on 5 January as acting president to replace Maduro, and her brother Jorge, the head of the national assembly, secretly assured US and Qatari officials through intermediaries ahead of time that they would welcome Maduro’s departure, according to the sources.

The communications between US officials from Delcy Rodríguez, who was then Maduro’s vice-president, began in the fall and continued after Trump and Maduro spoke in a crucial phone call in late November, the Guardian has learned, in which Trump insisted that Maduro leave Venezuela. Maduro rejected the demand.

By December, one American who was involved told the Guardian that Delcy Rodríguez told the US government she was ready: “Delcy was communicating ‘Maduro needs to go.’

“She said, ‘I’ll work with whatever is the aftermath,’” another person familiar with the messages said.

The sources say Marco Rubio, Trump’s secretary of state and national security adviser, at first a skeptic about working with regime elements, came to believe that Delcy Rodríguez’s promises were the best way to prevent chaos once Maduro was gone...

Venezuela’s interim president to visit US amid deepening oil ties

from France 24 (H/T AuntBB)

Venezuela's interim president will soon visit the United States, a senior US official said Wednesday, further signalling President Donald Trump’s willingness to embrace the oil-rich country’s new leader.

Delcy Rodriguez would be the first sitting Venezuelan president to visit the United States in more than a quarter century – aside from presidents attending United Nations meetings in New York.

She said Wednesday that she approached any dialogue with the United States “without fear”.

“We are in a process of dialogue, of working with the United States, without any fear, to confront our differences and difficulties… and to address them through diplomacy,” Rodriguez said.

The invitation reflects a head-snapping shift in relations between Washington and Caracas since US Delta Force operatives swooped into Caracas, seized President Nicolas Maduro and spirited him to a US jail to face narcotrafficking charges...

Trump unveils details of first call with Venezuela’s interim leader

from RT

US President Donald Trump and Venezuela’s interim president, Delcy Rodriguez, held a lengthy phone conversation on Wednesday, marking the first known direct contact between the two leaders since the US military captured President Nicolas Maduro.

The call, described by both sides as positive and productive, follows weeks of tension after the January 3 raid that killed at least 80 people, including members of the Venezuelan military, Maduro’s Cuban security staff, and civilians.

“We had a call, a long call. We discussed a lot of things, and I think we’re getting along very well with Venezuela,” Trump told reporters, praising Rodriguez as a “terrific person.”

In a separate Truth Social post, Trump stated that “tremendous progress” was being made and specifically mentioned “Oil, Minerals, Trade and, of course, National Security” as topics discussed.

“This partnership between the United States of America and Venezuela will be a spectacular one FOR ALL. Venezuela will soon be great and prosperous again, perhaps more so than ever before!” he added.

Rodriguez characterized the talk as “long, productive and courteous” and said they discussed a bilateral agenda aimed at benefiting both countries. The dialogue represents a shift in tone, after Rodriguez initially declared defiantly that no “foreign agent” would control Venezuela or turn it into a “colony.”...

Trump calls Venezuela’s interim president 'a terrific person' after phone call

from France 24

US President Donald Trump said on Wednesday that he had held a “long call” with Venezuela’s interim president, Delcy Rodriguez, the first known contact between the two leaders since the ouster of Nicolás Maduro.

“We just had a great conversation today, and she’s a terrific person,” Trump told reporters in the Oval Office.

He later said on social media that he and Rodriguez had discussed “many topics”, including oil, minerals, trade and national security.

“We are making tremendous progress,” Trump said.

After Maduro’s capture in a deadly US special forces operation on January 3, Trump said he was content to let his former deputy Rodriguez take over — as long as she granted the United States access to Venezuelan oil.

He has suggested the United States could maintain oversight of the Caribbean country for years.

Rodriguez has been walking a diplomatic tightrope, seeking to meet Trump’s demands without alienating Maduro loyalists, who control Venezuela’s security forces and feared paramilitaries.

Writing on Telegram, she described her call with the US leader as “productive and courteous” and characterised by “mutual respect”.

The 56-year-old added that she and Trump, 79, had discussed a “bilateral work agenda for the benefit of our people, as well as outstanding issues in relations between our governments”.

Earlier, at her first press conference as interim president, Rodriguez said Venezuela was entering a “new political era” marked by greater tolerance for “ideological and political diversity”...

Trump Going After Whistle-blower at Washington Post Seems to be Connected to the Military Coup in Venezuela

by Scott Creighton

So it appears the Washington Post reporter who had her home invaded by the corrupt FBI was somehow engaged in a 'leaker' (Trumpism) who had shared classified information on Venezuela.

'... Speaking to reporters in the afternoon, President Trump made an apparent reference to the case, saying the government had caught “a very bad leaker” of information related to Venezuela. He suggested that similar investigations were underway, saying: “There could be some others, and we’ll let you know about that. We’re hot on their trail.”

In a message to staff, Matt Murray, the executive editor of The Post, said neither Ms. Natanson nor the paper was a focus of the investigation.

“Nonetheless, this extraordinary, aggressive action is deeply concerning and raises profound questions and concern around the constitutional protections for our work,” he wrote.' NYT

Here is a video of that news conference in which he starts off talking about the 'leaker' (Trumpism)

Whatever it was that the whistleblower planned on disclosing, it was bad enough in the eyes of the Deep State to get them to kick in a door belonging to an employee of Jeff Bezos, a well known Trump (and fascism) supporter.

“Putin breaks the silence: Did Russia really betray Venezuela?”

(if the translation is accurate and I have no reason to think it isn't, Vladamir Putin says the obvious part out loud, that Russia cannot intervene when an internal coup with the Venezuelan military and certain political figures kidnapped Maduro and handed him over to the Americans. It is obvious. All the weapons and training the Russians helped Venezuela with were NOT USED to defend the country. In that circumstance, what is Russia expected to do? Invade?)

Russia Claims Ownership of Oil Assets It’s Developing in Venezuela

from Oil Price

Russia on Tuesday asserted ownership of all oil assets a state Russian company is developing in Venezuela, following the claims of U.S. President Donald Trump that major American and Western oil firms would help revive Venezuela’s oil industry.

Russia’s Roszarubezhneft, a state-owned firm that took over Rosneft assets in 2020 following U.S. sanctions on Rosneft’s Venezuelan oil trade, said on Tuesday that “all assets of Roszarubezhneft in Venezuela are owned by the Russian state,” as they have been bought at market prices and conditions.

Roszarubezhneft, owned by a unit of the Russian Ministry of Economic Development, was incorporated in 2020. After the U.S. sanctioned two units of Rosneft for trading Venezuelan oil, Roszarubezhneft bought the Venezuelan assets of the Russian state-controlled oil giant Rosneft.

TrumpyBear Promises Big Oil Venezuela is Open for Business

That's the Bolivarian revolution, right? That's what Hugo and Maduro stood for... right? They are going to have to set up U.S. military bases inside Venezuela in order to protect the stolen oil and I can't wait to see Max Blumenthal try to explain that as somehow being down for the revolution. lol. Delcy Releases Political Prisoners Who Tried to Overthrow Venezuela As Maxipad Shills for her

Max Blumenthal Stands with Delcy! Well that settles it. She MUST be Innocent. Max literally said they told him they didn't use the fighter jets because there had already been so much loss of life they decided to not use the fighters... as Trump made off with the president of their country. Then Max pretended those 5,000 madpad surface to air heat seeking missile systems didn't exist.

Evidence Shows Delcy Rodriguez Was Behind the Regime Change in Venezuela

Without Delcy and her 2 offers in 2025 to replace Nicholas Maduro, this bloody coup doesn't happen in Venezuela. Juan Guido and Machado couldn't do it. There would be civil war and instability. Delcy offers Trump administration the chance to get what they want, everything they want, under the guise of Chavisimo and the Bolivarian revolution and the sooner the people of Venezuela figure that out, the better off they are. That is, if you and they still believe in the revolution.

Of course Delcy Rodriguez was Behind the Coup https://nomadiceveryman.blogspot.com/2026/01/of-course-delcy-rodriguez-was-behind.html

Of Course Delcy Rodriguez Was Behind the Coup

by Scott Creighton

Delcy Rodriguez was fired by Hugo Chavez. He didn't like her. He didn't trust her.

'It was painful to watch how Chávez talked about (Delcy),” said one of the former officials. “He would never say a bad thing about women but the whole flight home he kept saying she was conceited, arrogant, incompetent.”

Days later, she was fired and never occupied another high-profile role with Chávez' AP

She held no important role in government until after Hugo died of cancer and Nicholas Maduro brought her in because... he trusted her brother.

In 2017, Delcy Rodriguez as Foreign Minister, directed CITGO to take half a million dollars from the people of Venezuela and gave it to the Trump inauguration fund to buy influence with him with other peoples' money. The fund is not regulated or tracked. In short, it's a bribe.

Exclusive: Venezuelan leaders offered U.S. a path to stay in power without Maduro

from the Miami Herold Oct 25 2025

A group of senior Venezuelan government officials, led by Vice President Delcy Rodríguez and her brother Jorge, who is president of the National Assembly, have quietly promoted a series of initiatives in recent months aimed at presenting themselves to Washington as a “more acceptable” alternative to Nicolás Maduro’s regime, according to people with direct knowledge of the talks.

The proposals, funneled through intermediaries in Qatar, sought to persuade sectors of the U.S. government that a “Madurismo without Maduro” could enable a peaceful transition in Venezuela—preserving political stability without dismantling the ruling apparatus.

According to the sources, Qatari mediators presented to the U.S. two formal proposals this year, one in April and another in September. Both outlined potential governing mechanisms without Maduro in power. In those scenarios, Delcy Rodríguez would serve as the institutional continuity figure, while retired Gen. Miguel Rodríguez Torres, who is currently in exile and is not related to the Rodriguez siblings, would head a transitional government.

The central argument, the sources said, was that the Rodríguez siblings represent a “more palatable” version of so-called chavismo — the socialist ideology named for deceased leader Hugo Chávez — for Washington, since neither has been indicted on narcotrafficking charges by U.S. courts. However, former regime officials— whose accounts have been used by U.S. prosecutors in cases linked to the so-called Cartel of the Suns—have implicated both siblings in logistical support and money laundering operations.

Sources told the Miami Herald the offers though Qatar were made with Maduro’s approval...
