Global condemnations of Israeli law for executing Palestinians mount

from al Mayadeen English

The Israeli occupation’s parliament, Knesset, has approved a law enabling the execution of Palestinian detainees only, drawing sharp condemnation from Palestinian Resistance factions, regional states, and international actors.

Palestinian Resistance groups on Tuesday denounced the legislation, describing it as a reflection of “Zionist ideology rooted in extermination and ethnic cleansing” and an attempt to legitimize killing within Israeli prisons. The factions stressed that the law exposes the occupation’s “fear and weakness” rather than strength, asserting that Palestinian detainees remain enduring symbols of dignity and steadfastness.

They called for a broad legal, media, and popular mobilization at local and international levels to confront the policy, urging Palestinians across the occupied West Bank, al-Quds, and other occupied territories to escalate popular resistance “by all possible means” in rejection of escalating crimes against detainees.

“Let our slogan be that truth is not executed, and dignity is not hanged,” the factions said, warning that the occupation “will pay the price for its criminal laws and actions.”...

2 Israeli deputies urge Palestinian recognition during Trump speech

from Daily Sabah

Two Israeli lawmakers interrupted President Donald Trump’s speech to the Knesset on Monday by chanting slogans calling for recognition of Palestinian statehood and condemning the Gaza genocide.

Footage showed Ayman Odeh and Ofer Cassif, members of the left-wing Hadash Party, being removed from the Knesset plenum after raising a paper banner reading "recognize Palestine."

While the U.S. continues to reject the recognition of a Palestinian state, a total of 159 out of 193 U.N. member states have officially recognized it.

Ayman Odeh's Courageous Speech in Knesset

by Scott Creighton

from Ayman Odeh

'The full speech that Speaker of the Knesset did not allow me to complete'

Ayman Odeh is a a lawyer and a member of Hadash party. He is a Muslim Arab. Hadash is a socialist party which was the first to openly support a two-state solution in the Knesset. They also advocate for complete removal of settlements in the West Bank.

'Israel's internal intelligence agency, the Shin Bet, has interrogated Odeh many times in the past. He said in an interview to The New Yorker: "I was called three more times by the Shin Bet. They never hit me. But they succeeded in two things. I isolated myself from my friends—I became much more introverted. And I had the sense the Shin Bet was watching me no matter where I went. When I went to the bus station, and I saw some guy in sunglasses, I just assumed he was Shin Bet."

A right-wing activist was arrested in February 2016 for making death threats against Odeh' Wiki

This man knows what price will be extracted from him for making these honest and passionate statements in public about the genocide and Netanyahu. Still, he did it.

We don't have a single politician or congress critter who would ever be so honest and honorable. Not one. Certainly not one who has already been targeted for attack and drilled by the likes of Shin Bet.

I tip my hat to Ayman Odeh for putting his own life at risk in the hopes of saving the lives of children in Gaza.

The world needs more like him.
