US Vice President Kamala Harris says Iran is the most significant enemy of the United States, citing Tehran’s recent ballistic missile attack against Israel.

In an interview with the CBS television network aired on Monday night, the Democratic presidential candidate said Iran is the “obvious” answer when asked about the country she considers to be the US’s “greatest adversary”.

 “Iran has American blood on their hands – this attack on Israel, 200 ballistic missiles,” she said. “What we need to do [is] to ensure that Iran never achieves the ability to be a nuclear power. That is one of my highest priorities.”...

Ryan Grim (yeah yeah I know) has on his Drop Site website a video from the DNC Convention the other night when Sneaky Uncle SloJoe was speaking. There were a couple of anti-genocide radicals in the mix who were apparently also delegates from some state. 

They tried to hold up a banner with perhaps the least offensive short message I could have possibly come up with myself and were swarmed with non-violent, right-thinkers who did everything they could to hide the simple 'stop arming Israel' wrong-think.

Kamala Harris denies intention to consider Israeli arms embargo

US Vice President and Democratic frontrunner Kamala Harris' team released a statement announcing that she will not be discussing an arms embargo on "Israel" after two far-left activists from the Uncommitted movement claimed she exhibited openness to do so.

The Times of Israel reported, citing The New York Times, that Harris met with two Arab Americans leading the Uncommitted National Movement, who asked her to consider an arms embargo on "Israel", at a campaign stop in Michigan.

Just before her rally, Harris met with Abbas Alawieh and Layla Elabed, who, according to NYT's report, "wanted to support her but... wanted her to consider an arms embargo." In response, Harris indicated she was "open to it" and introduced the two community leaders to her staff.

Harris' team statement in response read, “Since October 7, the vice president has prioritized engaging with Arab, Muslim, and Palestinian community members and others regarding the war in Gaza... In this brief engagement, she reaffirmed that her campaign will continue to engage with those communities.”

It added, "The vice president has been clear: she will always work to ensure Israel is able to defend itself against Iran and Iran-backed terrorist groups. The Vice President is focused on securing the ceasefire and hostage deal currently on the table.”...

Yesterday, at Union Station in Washington, D.C. we saw despicable acts by unpatriotic protestors and dangerous hate-fueled rhetoric.  
 
I condemn any individuals associating with the brutal terrorist organization Hamas, which has vowed to annihilate the State of Israel and kill Jews. Pro-Hamas graffiti and rhetoric is abhorrent and we must not tolerate it in our nation. 
 
I condemn the burning of the American flag. That flag is a symbol of our highest ideals as a nation and represents the promise of America. It should never be desecrated in that way. 
 
I support the right to peacefully protest, but let’s be clear: Antisemitism, hate and violence of any kind have no place in our nation.

 

My Takes on Her Statement

1. Hamas is not a 'brutal terrorist organization'. They are a political party which came to power in 2005-06 when Israel and the United States decided to ram thru an election in Palestine thinking they could shape the results of the election enough so that the Palestinian Authority (P.A.) would be controlled by Fatah, a corrupt political party with it's hands in Israeli pockets.

Didn't work out that way so we have termed Hamas as a terrorist organization ever since.

Hamas is based on the idea of Palestine run of, by and for Palestinians and they do not bend the knee to Israel like Fatah and the P.A. do.

This is why the West Bank, run by the P.A., looks like apartheid South Africa and Gaza, run by Hamas, is treated like the world's largest open air ghetto.

Izzat al-Risheq, a member of the political bureau of Hamas, considered Kamala Harris' pretensions about her concerns and sorrow regarding the humanitarian situation and human suffering in Gaza to be yet another American lie. 

He reiterated that the United States could have ended the war and blocked its military, security, political, and intelligence support to "Israel' and its occupation forces if it wanted to. 

Al-Risheq also affirmed that the presidential candidate and vice president kickstarted her presidential campaign with fabricated lies, reminding her that Gaza's martyrs are not just "deaths", but innocent civilians, elderly, women, children, and refugees, killed by the "Zionazi army" with American decisions, weapons, and political cover. 

Harris "disregards the human rights she pretends to protect, and the Resistance's right to confront an occupier protected by international law," he said, adding that her vision was biased toward the Israeli occupation and opposed the people of Palestine in Gaza. ..
