June 8, 1967 — the fourth day of the Six Day War between Israel and Egypt, Syria and Jordan — was a beautiful day in the Mediterranean. The USS Liberty was in international waters off the coast of Egypt. Israeli aircraft had flown over the USS Liberty in the morning and had reported that the ship was American. The crew, in close proximity to the war zone, was reassured by the presence of Israeli aircraft. But at 2:00 p.m. sailors sunbathing on the deck saw fighter jets coming at them in attack formation. Red flashes from the wings of the fighters were followed by explosions, blood and death. A beautiful afternoon suddenly became a nightmare. Who was attacking the USS Liberty and why? The attack on the Liberty was an attack on America.  

The Liberty was an intelligence ship. Its purpose was to monitor Soviet and Arab communications in order to warn both Israel and Washington should the Soviets enter the war on behalf of its Arab allies. The Liberty was armed only with four machineguns to repel boarders. Its request for a destroyer escort had been denied.  

The assault on the Liberty is well documented. With no warning, the Liberty was attacked by successive waves of unmarked jets using cannon, rockets and napalm. The attacking jets jammed all of the US communications frequencies, an indication they knew the Liberty was an American ship.  

The air attack failed to sink the Liberty. About 30 minutes into the attack three torpedo boats appeared flying the Star of David. The Israeli boats were not on a rescue mission. They attacked the Liberty with cannon, machineguns and torpedoes. One torpedo struck the Liberty mid-ship, instantly killing 25 Americans while flooding the lower decks. The Israeli torpedo boats destroyed the life rafts the Liberty launched when the crew prepared to abandon ship, sending the message there would be no survivors.  

At approximately 3:15 two French-built Israeli helicopters carrying armed Israeli troops appeared over the Liberty. Phil Tourney could see their faces only 50/60 feet away. He gave them the finger. Surviving crewmembers are convinced the Israelis were sent to board and kill all survivors.  

The Israeli jets destroyed the Liberty‘s communication antennas. While under attack from the jets, crewmembers strung lines that permitted the ship to send a call for help. The USS Saratoga and the USS America launched fighters to drive off the attacking aircraft, but the rescue mission was aborted by direct orders from Washington...

Was the Port Shuaiba Attack a Deliberate Sacrifice or Something Much Worse?

Was the March 1 2026 attack on the command center in Port Shuaiba, Kuwait which killed 6 service members and wounded over 30 more merely a case of really bad preparation or was it a legitimate false flag operation designed to get the American public behind Trump and the Zionists' war of aggression against a sovereign state that had done nothing to us up until that moment?

Right now House Dems are looking into starting an investigation into what happened that day. And they should because the survivors have been sharing their stories for nearly a month while nothing has been done.

'Speaking publicly for the first time, members of the targeted unit offered CBS News a detailed account of the attack and its harrowing aftermath from the perspective of those on the ground. 

The members CBS News spoke to disputed the description of events from Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, who described the drone as a "squirter" — in that it squirted through the defenses of a fortified unit inside Kuwait.

"Painting a picture that 'one squeaked through' is a falsehood," one of the injured soldiers told CBS News. "I want people to know the unit … was unprepared to provide any defense for itself. It was not a fortified position." CBS News

Pete Hegseth was asked about this situation and his responses are very interesting as at one point he started talking about 'the bigger picture' and followed up by saying something along the lines of 'in war soldiers get killed' a very flippant response from the Sec. of Defense, true, but maybe even more damning when you consider if he felt that way would he consider sacrificing a few soldiers to get the public behind a war of choice being waged for some other nation.

 

It's like they were left out there without adequate defenses to be hit by people who knew the American public would not be behind this war of aggression on behalf of Israel until something bloody happened to American troops.

And what might be worse yet... the Iranians said they didn't do it. It wasn't them. If it wasn't them, who was it?

Israel is a rogue state serving their own interests. I don't believe for one minute that Trump gave them a green light for this attack... not the day before his big beautiful birthday bash. My concern regards US troops overseas even if Iran chooses not to target them... will Israel?

Ralph Nader gets this mostly right. However, he whiffs on a key part of the story... motive. Motive and the co-conspirators... us.

The U.S.S. Liberty was a reclassified Victory class ship, I believe attached to a carrier group the 6th Fleet in 1967 prior to the 6 Day War. She was in the Mediterranean Sea and at that time had been converted into a Technical Research Ship (AGTR-5) 'a cover name for National Security Agency (NSA) "spy ships" carrying out signals intelligence missions'

When this statement was made, it was in fact true; Liberty, now assigned to the Sixth Fleet, was in the central Mediterranean Sea, passing between Libya and Crete.^[20] It would ultimately steam to about 13 nmi (15 mi; 24 km) north of the Sinai Peninsula.^[21]

Ralph Nader says that Liberty was deployed to spy on the conflict off the coast of Africa during the 6 Day War however, that is not entirely true. She was sent there BEFORE Israel launched her attacks. This is an important distinction for what comes next.
