President-elect Trump has named several billionaires to top roles in his next administration — a combination worth over $360 billion and that includes the world’s richest person.

Elon Musk, the Tesla CEO, brings the vast bulk of that wealth: a net worth of more than $346 billion, with that value fluctuating day by day. But even without Musk, the remaining billionaires who are worth a combined more than $15 billion outpace Trump’s first administration, which at the time was the wealthiest in modern history, at $6.2 billion. Trump himself is reportedly worth an estimated $5.6 billion.

Erdoğan hopes Syria’s anti-regime march continues ‘without disasters’

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan on Friday said he hopes the march of anti-regime forces toward Damascus continues “without accidents or disasters.”

"Idlib, Hama, Homs, and the target, of course, is Damascus. The opposition's march continues. Our wish is that this march in Syria continues without accidents or disasters," Erdoğan told reporters following Friday prayers in Istanbul.

Syria has become a new focus amid anti-regime forces' lightning advance across the country's north that last week saw them take the commercial hub of Aleppo from regime forces, followed by the key city of Hama on Thursday and closing in on the third-largest city of Homs on Friday.

Erdoğan, whose country has become home to about 3 million Syrian refugees since the war started in 2011, has held a number of discussions with other leaders on the crisis in recent days.

He expressed frustration over Syria's leadership, saying: "We made a call to (Bashar) Assad. We said: 'Come, let's determine the future of Syria together.' Unfortunately, we did not receive a positive response to this."

Erdoğan repeated that a U.N.-facilitated political process was key to resolving the conflict, a point he said he discussed with U.N. chief Antonio Guterres...

Israeli forces invade Gaza hospital, expel staff, displaced people

Israeli forces raided Kamal Adwan Hospital in Beit Lahiya, northern Gaza, overnight Friday, expelling some staff and displaced individuals before withdrawing, according to hospital director Hussam Abu Safiya.

Outside, the streets were littered with bodies from earlier airstrikes.

Abu Safiya said the assault began with airstrikes targeting the hospital’s western and northern sides, followed by heavy gunfire.

Speaking in an online chatroom monitored by Reuters, he described how troops forced all staff, patients and displaced people into the hospital courtyard.

Most were allowed back inside hours later, but some – including an Indonesian emergency surgery team – were permanently expelled.

At least 21 killed in Israeli strike on tent camp in Gaza

At least 21 people were killed after Israel targeted a tent camp housing displaced Palestinians in the Gaza Strip on Wednesday, a health official said.

Atif Al-Hout, the director of Nasser Hospital in the southern city of Khan Younis said 28 people were wounded.

The Israeli military, notorious for targeting civilians and civilian infrastructure, claimed that it targeted Hamas's position in the area.

The strike in the al-Mawasi area, a sprawling coastal camp housing hundreds of thousands of displaced people, near the southern city of Khan Younis, came after Israeli forces struck targets in other areas of the Palestinian enclave. Earlier strikes in central Gaza killed eight people, including four children.
