Stunning NYT Presentation Shows Extent of Israel's Barbaric Genocide in Gaza

This is a scorched earth campaign to exterminate the remaining Palestinians in order to steal their land right out from under them. They are using the military campaign as the demolition part of the project to build new structures and make themselves a new casino destination spot in Gaza. This is a war crime.

Israel cannot carry out ‘collective punishment’ of people in Gaza: Lavrov

from al Jazeera

The Russian foreign minister says it is unacceptable that Israel is using Hamas’s October 7 offensive as justification for a collective punishment of Palestinians in Gaza and has called for international monitoring of the situation on the ground in the besieged enclave.

Speaking virtually at the Doha Forum on Sunday, Sergey Lavrov told Al Jazeera’s diplomatic editor James Bays the unprecedented attack by Hamas inside the Israeli territory did not happen in a vacuum.

It was due to “decades and decades of a blockade [in Gaza] and decades and decades of unfulfilled promises to the Palestinians that they would have a state, living side to side with Israel in security and good neighbourliness”, he said.

At least 17,700 Palestinians have been killed in Gaza since October 7 – 70 percent of them women and children, prompting rights bodies and experts to call it a “genocide”.

In Israel, the revised official death toll from the Hamas attack stands at about 1,147...

Palestinians call for global strike on Monday to demand Gaza ceasefire

 from al Jazeera

Palestinian activists and grassroots organisations have called for a global strike on Monday to demand an immediate ceasefire as Israel continues its aggression on Gaza.

The call for the strike has been given by the National and Islamic Forces, a coalition of major Palestinian factions, to Palestinians across the occupied West Bank and supporters across the world to participate in a strike that would include “all aspects of public life” in a show of solidarity amid relentless Israeli attacks.

“We expect the entire globe to join the strike, which comes in the context of a broad international movement involving influential figures. This movement stands against the open genocide in Gaza, the ethnic cleansing and the colonial settlement in the West Bank,” said a statement released by the coalition.

“The strike also opposes attempts to undermine the just national cause of the Palestinian people,” it said...

Israel cannot win – Jordan

from RT

Jordan’s foreign minister has claimed Israel cannot achieve military victory in Gaza and has already suffered a strategic defeat by alienating the entire region.

Speaking on Sunday at the Doha Forum – an annual gathering of diplomats in the Qatari capital – Ayman Safadi said the goal of Israel’s operation against Hamas is to oust the Palestinian population, rather than to defeat the militant group.

The destruction in Gaza in the past two months “is an indication of an Israeli policy that seems determined to expel the residents” of the enclave, he said, adding that top Israeli officials, including Minister of National Security Itamar Ben-Gvir and Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich, have been quite candid about that intention...

Israel trying to force Gazans into Egypt – UN official

from RT

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) are setting the stage for the mass expulsion of Palestinians into Egypt while creating conditions that will make it impossible for them to ever return to their destroyed homes in Gaza, the UN’s Palestinian refugee agency chief has claimed.

“The United Nations and several member states, including the US, have firmly rejected forcibly displacing Gazans out of the Gaza Strip,” UN Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA) chief Philippe Lazzarini wrote on Saturday in a Los Angeles Times op-ed. “But the developments we are witnessing point to attempts to move Palestinians into Egypt, regardless of whether they stay there or are resettled elsewhere.”

An Israeli Defense Ministry spokesman denied Lazzarini’s accusation, saying West Jerusalem has never had a plan to push Gazans into Egypt. However, two Israeli lawmakers wrote last month in a Wall Street Journal op-ed that they would like to see countries around the world welcome Gazan refugees who choose to relocate...

Israel’s onslaught drags U.S. Jewish life into the abyss

 by Phillip Weiss from Mondoweiss

It has been another horrifying week in Gaza, as our reporters have sought to document. It saw the murder of a great poet, Refaat Alareer, and his family, by the Israeli army. It saw the Israeli army stripping and humiliating scores of Palestinian men on the street of a bombed-out city– including, by our report, shopkeepers and journalists — in scenes reminiscent of Abu Ghraib and the Nazi occupation of Eastern Europe.

It saw the U.S. defying the world to veto a U.N. Security Council resolution demanding a ceasefire — and the U.S. resupplying Israel with tank shells.

“There is a real danger that we will actually lose our homeland, possibly forever, and will be forced into Egypt,” Tareq Hajjaj writes.

And here in America, the Jewish establishment has been consigned to the role of supporting genocide, and it has accepted that role eagerly in all its expressions and activities. The effect on Judaism of this moral collapse is unfathomable. Young Jews will save the religion; but the tragedy is sure to envelop my people for decades, and produce great suffering in Israel, Palestine, and the U.S. too.

I’m talking about the unanimity of official Jewish life. Tony Blinken — who became secretary of state by invoking his father’s surviving the Holocaust — is today a shell of a man. Look at him on CNN. He has stood up again and again for Israeli massacres, while saying that he has asked Israel to do better– pretty please. These performances at the gates of hell will haunt him, just like Colin Powell lying at the U.N. to enable the destruction of Iraq.

Just like J Street issuing pathetic political calibrations, aimed at standing by Biden as families are massacred...
