Greetings from the Void

Hello folks. No. Power has not been restored to my neighborhood as of yet. I am using the laptop to write this (charged before Milton Friedman came by) and will try to set up phone as hot spot in order to post.

We are doing alright. Cleaning up mostly. Helping neighbors and playing with animals. Mostly.

Can't really read since eyesight is so bad and low light makes it worse.

Hurricane was a pain. First part wasn't as bad as what followed. Fence down in back. Big limb on roof. But aside from that it was just nerve wracking.

Beau kept sitting on my foot. Big adorable pussy, that Beau of mine. Kitten and Gabby were not phased. Cricket finally came out of hiding.

On hold with FEMA since I had to throw out all my food. Fridge is a petri dish at this point so I am cleaning it out. Freezer the same. Ice lasted a little while but only a memory now.

Been on hold for 10 minutes... they said 49 minutes ten minutes ago... just said it will be 49 minutes.

Phone charging off laptop. I wonder if it will hold up.

Lots of wondering at this point.

What we got was a Cat 2 level storm that lasted about 4 hours and it was a bitch. But don't get me wrong, it hit south of us much much worse and my heart goes out to them.

Made instant coffee this morning with an empty soda can, tongs and 4 candles.

Tasty.

It was pretty much a cry for help.

Will be alright. At least I have enough meds to last a while and the weather isn't awful... yet.

Just wanted you to know... we're OK. Empty fridge, no cooking, lost some weight. Will lose more. But, I was fat anyway. Like a poor man's Ozempic.

We will be alright. Plenty of cat and dog food. We're OKAY.
