Trump threatens to 'knock out every single Power Plant' in Iran

US President Donald Trump escalated threats against Iran on Sunday, accusing Tehran of violating a ceasefire agreement while denying that Washington’s continued naval blockade and interference with shipping had violated the truce first.

In a statement published on Truth Social, Trump claimed that Iran had opened fire in the Strait of Hormuz, calling it “a total violation” of the ceasefire, and said the incident targeted a French vessel and a UK-linked freighter, though no independent confirmation has emerged. 

Trump also said US representatives would travel to Islamabad, Pakistan, for negotiations, even as Washington continues to exert military and economic pressure, casting doubt on the seriousness of its diplomatic track.

The US president further claimed that Iran was harming its own economy by disrupting traffic through the Strait of Hormuz, a claim that overlooks Washington’s own role in destabilizing the waterway through its naval blockade and ongoing interference with maritime traffic.
