White House Press Corp Shooting: What it Was and What it Wasn't

by Scott Creighton

There was apparently an attempt by someone named Cole Tomas Allen to make his way into the White House Correspondents dinner last night with at least gun.

He was stopped short... well short... not even making it to the right floor of the Washington Hilton where the event was taking place.

Folks over at Breaking Points are saying it was a security failure.

No. JFK was a security failure. RFK was a security failure. Reagan was a security failure. Last night was NOT a security failure as the guy didn't even get close.

Here's another security failure for you to chew on... Trump.

But failure is a rather deceptive description of the events I mentioned as they weren't so much a failure as they were designed futility with the purpose of letting what happened take place.

JFK, RFK, Reagan... the Secret Service (S.S.) played a role in the murder or attempted murder of high ranking political figures they were assigned to protect.

In the case of Trump, the S.S. played a part in a WWE-style production to garner TrumpyBear that all important 'street cred' that someone was out to get him. It was staged and the S.S. did their part to help.

We can take some lessons from comparing this event last night to the one at the rally in Pennsylvania.

This is what the S.S. does when there is a legitimate threat to their principle... cover his body and head with theirs making it difficult for a shooter to take a shot... EVEN IF the shooter is downed because THEY ARE TRAINED TO EXPECT ANOTHER SHOOTER.

This is what happened in Penn:

They had him out there in plain sight, perfect for a follow-up or back-up shooter waiting for the flag to drop and the press to be ushered into place to take the 'money shot'

As they took him off stage, they literally DUCKED so the cameras could see his face.

Now as for the actual shooter... in a 'failed' event the shooter gets position remarkably and gets off some rounds at the target as in the case of JFK, RFK and Reagan.

In the Penn. event the guy was able to get to the ONLY ROOF that would offer a clean shot of someone on stage... and the S.S. guy behind the stage on the other roof had the shooter in his sites for 40 seconds before letting him get off 6 rounds before taking him out.

Last night the shooter didn't even get up the stairs to the event hall.

Here's another subtle difference... in a staged event, the shooter or patsy rarely survives long enough to tell the press he is a patsy.

Last night they didn't just kill him outright. Why/ Because they legitimately want to know who if anyone else is behind the attempt.

According to the story, dude shot a cop who was only saved by his tactical vest. And they let that dude live?

As of the moment there isn't a motive being reported by the authorities.

Did this guy actually think he could just run up on a bunch of political heavy hitters and get past all the security to take a pot shot at someone?

Seems kind of flimsy in terms of a grand plan if you ask me.

I don't know what happened last night in D.C.

Could have been some whack-job hair brained assassination attempt.

Could have been he was there to shoot a cop who was banging his wife.

Could have been a suicide by cop scheme that didn't pan out.

One thing is for sure... it wasn't a case of 'security failure' and it probably wasn't an actual attempt on Trump's life...

... just like the shooting in Pennsylvania wasn't either.
