Here is Lesser Northern Castrostan, we have the big city of T.O, which many consider the center of our universe at least.
Since forever, it has had a major subdivision corporate municipality known as MISSISSAUGA.
But if u drive on the TC Highway, in Ontario called Highway17, east of Thunder Bay u pass thru a native reserve in literally the middle of nowhere right of course in the rocky primitive Canadian Shield (can't recall the nearest town/village) where there are almost certainly more moose/deer residing than people even today .
A roadside sign u drive right by says "...Home of the MISSISSAUGA Nation"!
WTF!
So why is this place 1000 miles west, and a part of T.O., named after them?
Easy...they did a "land swap" agreement way back in the day likely b4 1900, where the early settlers and likely the Upper Canada gov't at the time decided it would be best if all that prime lakefront (Lake Ontario) shorelands was one contiguous block, inhabited by one group of people.
To better prevent "social conflict" etc.
So, grant them some equivalent acreage somewhere else.
Such a deal.
