The European Commission is secretly considering the full deregulation of certain types of genetically modified (GM) crops – yet it has not admitted as much publicly. Under such policy scenarios, deregulation could mean scrapping safety checks, traceability, and labelling for GMOs that are claimed to be able to arise naturally – and removing GMO labelling for GM products declared “sustainable”.
The Commission's detailed policy plans for 2030-35 are revealed for the first time in a targeted survey, seen by GMWatch, which has only been sent to certain stakeholders. The survey is being run by consultants to the Commission. ReplyDelete1978 panhandle OK giant Optima earth dam built to tame the wild Beaver R. (barely creek flows in size, but turns out it's a SPRING!) that causes flooding.
Local development while they built the dam solved the problem by simply tapping into the aquifers that feed this SPRING (fancy that term) so that when it came time to commission the dam by first filling its back reservoir, NO WATER FLOW anymore---the aquifers had been sucked down well enuf to eliminate the spring (NOT a river) from erupting at all.
So that dam sits empty & useless to this day.

So looks like LV figures it'll be good to the last drop out of the lake. only 27- 29% filled capacity those 2 lakes are now, & already running reduced power output from the 2 dam hydrostations.
So they're not going anywhere LOL.
Remember there's 40MM USAns in the parched SW depend on something from this system (water, hydro, or both), set up & designed in the 1920's using all they had at the time which was precip/wx records going back merely 30 years when it was the wettest time in 1000+ years(!), with eg first power delivered late 1930's after built, lake mead filled starting 1937/APR, all power systems verified opnl, etc. by fdr ceremony throwing a switch.
