William Barr Promises 'a major sensational incident' to End Encryption Protections

"I think it is prudent to anticipate that a major incident may well occur at any time that will galvanize public opinion on these issues." William Barr July 23 2019

William Barr oversaw the very first mass communication collection program for the US government back in 1992. Mass surveillance of US citizens. Now he wants encryption companies to build a back door into their systems allowing for Big Government to spy on users in real time. All the while he feigns indignation at the FBI for spying on the Trump campaign.

The costs of irresponsible encryption that blocks legitimate law enforcement access is ultimately measured in a mounting number of victims — men, women, and children who are the victims of crimes — crimes that could have been prevented if law enforcement had been given lawful access to encrypted evidence. Law enforcement has generally not wanted to get too specific about these cases because details can help sophisticated criminals and terrorists evade detection. But, given the frequency with which these situations are now arising, it is only a matter of time before a sensational case crystallizes the issue for the public...."...

  1. Barr hasn't a clue regarding our Bill of Rights. The 2nd Amendment gives us the physical ability to rid ourselves of a tyranny should one arise. The 4th Amendment is rooted in the concept of innate human dignity. Only when a crime has been committed or when evidence shows intent to commit a crime can we be searched. The surveillance that has been ongoing since 9-11 is un-American and people should be tried for treason.
