Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro has announced a temporary ban on X (formerly Twitter) in the country. The decision followed his war of words with the platform’s CEO, Elon Musk, who has accused Maduro of election fraud.
In a televised speech on Thursday, Maduro accused the tech mogul of “inciting hatred, fascism, civil war, death, [and] confrontation of Venezuelans,”
as well as violating national laws. The leader added that he has signed
a resolution presented by the National Commission of Telecommunications
to ban the social media platform for ten days.
“Let the plans on social networks to spread violence, hatred... [in] Venezuela from abroad end,” Maduro wrote in a separate post on X.
In response, Musk took to the platform to mockingly promise to “singe his [Maduro’s] mustache from space.”...

Why not go all the way like Mr. T. in 2019, and phone the lucky contest winner with a congratulatory anointment?
And just to make the point one step further and show he's serious, really serious, fly in (on his private jet) to present the lucky winner with the Peacock throne, collecting dust in a Smithsonian storage room for decades now since the shah retired.
