President Obama has announced his big initiative to save the starving people of Africa by “unleashing the powers of the market” all across their continent. 

It’s called the New Alliance for Food and Nutrition Security. Obama has made this announcement at a G8 summit meeting at Camp David (created back in the 1930′s under the Works Progress Administration part of the New Deal) hosted by none other than the Chicago Council on Foreign Affairs. You may remember them. They changed their name back in 2008 when it was inconvenient for the wife of the next president to be affiliated with the Chicago Council on Foreign Relations.

But African civil society wants no part of this latest Monsanto aligned “public private partnership”. Whatever will the progressives do now that their flawless hero has teamed up with their most hated nemesis to exploit an entire continent like they did to India not that long ago?

By every right this President and his corrupt administration should have been impeached and then incarcerated years ago. But what do you expect from a group of people that we have, by concession, allowed to steal the White House, not once… but twice?

In Chile in 1973, when Nixon and the Chicago Boys wanted to implement the Friedman Doctrine of savage capitalism as a test case, their candidate also lost the free election to Salvador Allende and therefore they had too resort to a military coup to install the Augusto Pinochet led junta.

“Pinochet assumed power on Sept. 11, 1973, in a bloody coup supported by the United States that toppled the elected government of Salvador Allende, a Marxist who had pledged to lead his country "down the democratic road to socialism." Washington Post, Dec. 2006.

Chile was not simply drawn out of a hat in a random manner as the nation where this test case would take place. No, the ousted ruler (freely elected President Allende) had been in power for over two years and had been enacting sweeping social and economic reforms through-out the nation. He had nationalized the banking systems and monetary systems as well as the main national export; copper.

“In 1970, Salvadore Allende became the first Marxist to be democratically elected president in the Western hemisphere. In the course of his sweeping socialist reforms, he nationalized not only the copper mines but banks and other foreign-owned assets as well.” Chile: The Laboratory Test.

The copper mines had been bought up in the 60s by vast US corporations, and of course the banking systems had been held by US interests as well. So when Nixon was elected he owed some of these multinational interests some payback and since he wasn’t about to force the Friedman economic model down the throats of the American people, having then stated “We are all Keynesians now.” he threw them Chile as a sort of consolation prize.

In reality, though, neither US nor British intelligence believe Tehran has decided to build a bomb, and Iran's atomic projects are under constant international monitoring.

The exotic tale of the bomb hidden in the desert is a true story, though. It's just one that applies to another country. In an extraordinary feat of subterfuge, Israel managed to assemble an entire underground nuclear arsenal – now estimated at 80 warheads, on a par with India and Pakistan – and even tested a bomb nearly half a century ago, with a minimum of international outcry or even much public awareness of what it was doing.

Despite the fact that the Israel's nuclear programme has been an open secret since a disgruntled technician, Mordechai Vanunu, blew the whistle on it in 1986, the official Israeli position is still never to confirm or deny its existence.

When the former speaker of the Knesset, Avraham Burg, broke the taboo last month, declaring Israeli possession of both nuclear and chemical weapons and describing the official non-disclosure policy as "outdated and childish" a rightwing group formally called for a police investigation for treason.

Meanwhile, western governments have played along with the policy of "opacity" by avoiding all mention of the issue. In 2009, when a veteran Washington reporter, Helen Thomas, asked Barack Obama in the first month of his presidency if he knew of any country in the Middle East with nuclear weapons, he dodged the trapdoor by saying only that he did not wish to "speculate"...

It would appear that Barack O’Bush is just going to continue in the same fashion as the previous administration; making glorious statements and rules that all of his supporters cheer as “Change”, and then just go right on doing the exact same thing anyway, knowing full well that the majority of his supporters won’t believe it and that the story (if covered at all) will die out soon enough anyway.

Mr. Obama has said that no one in his administration who has lobbied on a set of issues within the past two years can deal with the same subject matter. The president has already approved a few exceptions. CBS News

Aside from being a wealthy tax-cheat who would have gone to jail for his actions, had he been anyone BUT a connected politician, apparently Tom Daschle, Obama’s pick for Health and Human Services secretary, was a well paid member of a lobbying firm that worked for the very industries that he would be dealing with everyday.

“I taught the constitution for 10 years. I believe in the constitution and I will obey the constitution of the United States. We are not going to use signing statements as a way of doing an end run around congress.” Candidate Obama, May 2008

In May of 2008 when he was running for office, candidate Obama answered a question from the audience about the use of presidential signing statements. This is what he said:

“We have a government designed by the founders with checks and balances. You don’t want a president who’s too powerful a congress that’s too powerful, or a court system that’s too powerful. Everyone has their own role. Congress’s job is too pass legislation. The president can veto it or he can sign it. But what George Bush has been trying to do as part of his effort to accumulate more power in the presidency, is… he’s been saying “well I can basically change what congress passed by attaching a letter saying “I don’t agree with this part or I don’t agree with that part… I’m gonna choose to interpret it this way or that way“”… that’s not part of his power but this is part of the whole theory of George Bush that he can make laws as he’s going along. I disagree with that. I taught the constitution for 10 years. I believe in the constitution and I will obey the constitution of the United States. When President Obama went back on his word and signed the NDAA of 2012, he issued a signing statement which does exactly, word for word, what candidate Obama chastised President Bush for doing nearly 4 years ago. His signing statement, aside from issuing a toothless platitude about not using military detention for US citizens, lays out section by section how the president intends to interpret various provisions of the legislation passed by congress. Obama’s signing statement actually says almost word for word “I don’t agree with this part or I don’t agree with that part… I’m gonna choose to interpret it this way or that way“

President Obama signed into law the U.S.A. Freedom Act on June the 2nd. On June the 1st and most of Tuesday, June 2nd, certain provisions of the Patriot Act had been allowed to sunset, to expire. Those were controversial sections of the law which provided legal cover for things like collecting mass amounts of personal data from everyone, the “lone wolf” provision and roving wiretaps.

The NDAA of 2012 generated a great deal of discussion and rightly so, but for the wrong reasons.

No one likes to think that the evil “big guberment” is going to kick in your doors in the dead of night like they do in Afghanistan and Iraq and take away all that “liberty” you have, but the reality is they’ve been doing that for quite sometime, just not to the young, middle-class white guys of the libertarian persuasion… so now of course we have to sound the alarm.

Leon Panetta and the administration of “CHANGE” are working overtime to terrorize the legitimate leader of Syria and the general population of the country.

Panetta announced that he is sending two Patriot Missile batteries and 400 U.S. troops to Turkey in support of the terrorists Hillary Clinton and the CIA have been running in their destabilization campaign in neighboring Syria.

The Patriot missile systems are not going there to deter Assad from attacking Turkey. Assad has no intention of doing that and giving the NATO conquistadors an excuse to attack.

Peter Kassig, whatever else he was, was no “humanitarian” and in all likelihood, he was operating a front NGO out of Turkey helping train and supply Barack Obama’s regime change destabilization campaign of death-squads in Syria from late 2012 to Oct. 2013. That conclusion is based on the fact that he was indeed a special forces Ranger with the 75th Ranger Regiment in Iraq from mid-2006 to 2007.

“(in 2006) Kassig then became a U.S. Army Ranger, with an army special operations unit, 1st Battalion, 75th Ranger Regiment. His service including training in Fort Benning, Georgia, and a fourteen-month deployment to Iraq, from June 2006 to September 2007, when he received a medical discharge ” Wiki bio

What were the 75th Ranger Regiment doing in Iraq during that time? It’s called the Salvador Option and it’s basically the same thing we are doing now: training and aiding pro-government death-squads in Iraq in order to quell an uprising against our puppet regime, to make them “obey and submit” to our occupation.

Now that the midterm “elections” are officially over, the real work of neo-liberalizing this country begins with a vengeance. We saw that two days ago when they tried to pass the Keystone Pipeline bill and the new CISPA, the USA “Freedom” Act.

This evening, Barack Obama is going to give a speech in which he will lay out his end-around plan to side-step congress in order to implement much of the George W. Bush Comprehensive Immigration Reform Act of 2007 that failed back when he was in office.

It is expected to give amnesty to 5 million or so illegal immigrants.

The kind that unelected unaccountable technocrats in places like Greece, Ukraine and Detroit can make. And these guys are doing it right here in the states before our very eyes.

The fervor over the fake “burning man” video is laughable to the point of tears. It’s ridiculous actually when you put that one guy acting in a movie pretending to be about to die, in context of what our secret warriors have really done to millions of civilians over the past few decades. What our secret warriors, our “freedom fighters”, are STILL doing in Iraq as we speak.

Today, the New York Times had to shed a tiny bit of light on the reality creeping out of occupied Iraq and that reality is… yes, our puppet regime has unleashed organized death squads (just like I wrote about nearly a year ago and again in Aug.) on the population of their country who happen to opposed the corrupt, brutal government we installed.

While the people of the United States are being deliberately distracted by the criminally over-hyped Ebola Crisis™, President Peace Prize is backing the Shi’a death-squads of the murderous al-Maliki regime in Iraq (read here , here and here) and air-dropping weapons, munitions and other aid to a notorious terrorist organization, the Kurdish Worker’s Party (PKK), in Syria (read here and here).

 

“The United States has airdropped small arms, ammunition and medical supplies to Kurdish militia forces in the besieged city of Kobani who have been fighting back an ISIS assault for weeks. The airdrops will likely stir controversy with the Turkish government, which has opposed support for Kurdish military groups in Syria that it believes are affiliated with a Kurdish group that has conducted terrorist attacks inside Turkey for decades” ABC News

“The airdrops are almost certain to anger the Turkish government, which has said it would oppose any U.S. arms transfers to the Kurdish rebels in Syria. Turkey views the main Kurdish group in Syria as an extension of the Turkish Kurd group known as the PKK, which has waged a 30-year insurgency in Turkey and is designated a terror group by the U.S. and by NATO.” AP

Senior administration officials reported that on Sunday night three American C-130 aircraft dropped 27 pallets of materials for the Kurdish fighters in or near Kobani. It was classified as “the type of material that would help them sustain this fight.”

 

The PKK is classified as a terrorist organization by Turkey, NATO, the EU and the United States among many others.
