Israeli forces tighten siege on occupied West Bank village, block ambulances

from PressTV

Israeli forces have tightened the siege on the village of al-Mughayyir in the occupied West Bank for a fourth day, intensifying their raids on homes, arrests of residents, and destruction of farmland.

Local activist Mohammed Abu Alia said troops stormed more than 30 houses, ransacked belongings, and fired tear gas inside one residence.

He added that soldiers seized vehicles, money and jewelry, while barring residents and journalists from entering the village. Many families have been stranded outside since Thursday.

Bulldozers were also seen clearing land to make way for a new settler road through the eastern outskirts of the village, uprooting hundreds of trees in the process.

The incursions follow claims that an illegal settler was injured in a shooting operation at a settlement outpost built on the grounds of al-Mughayyir.

Rawhi Fattouh, head of the Palestinian National Council, denounced the raid as part of a “systematic policy of forced displacement and ethnic cleansing.”

He said the violence in al-Mughayyir was directly linked to Israel’s broader settlement agenda, including the recently approved E1 plan east of al-Quds.

Critics say the controversial scheme would sever the West Bank and prevent a viable Palestinian state...

Speaker Johnson Calls Illegally Occupied West Bank 'Integral Part' of Israel

from Common Dreams

House Speaker Mike Johnson on Monday led a high-level Republican delegation on a visit to the occupied West Bank, where the second-in-line to the U.S. presidency told a rapt audience in an illegal Jewish settler colony that they are the rightful owners of the Palestinian territory.

"The mountains of Judea and Samaria are the rightful property of the Jewish people," Johnson (R-La.) said in Ariel, using the biblical name for the West Bank, which includes East Jerusalem. Ariel was built on land stolen from the Palestinian towns of Salfit, Marda, and Iskaka after Israeli forces conquered the West Bank in a 1967 war waged on false pretense of an imminent threat of Egyptian and Syrian attack.

"Judea and Samaria are the front line of the state of Israel and must remain an integral part of it," Johnson added.

The Palestinian Foreign Ministry condemned Johnson's visit, calling his endorsement of Israeli annexation a "blatant violation of international law."

"All settlement activity is illegal and void," the ministry stressed, adding that Johnson's stance "undermines Arab and American efforts to stop the war and cycle of violence, while flagrantly contradicting the declared U.S. position on settlements and settler violence."...

Lessons from Ozymandias

by Scott Creighton

Where does the 'Jewish State' go from here after killing so many to benefit so few? After openly calling to steal the West Bank and then Gaza by torturing and killing their rightful inhabitants?

Where does the 'Jewish State' go after turning a blind eye to the starvation of children for their profit, for Greater Israel?

A once proud and mighty people lost to the sands of time. It's a story played out without end.

I met a traveller from an antique land
Who said: Two vast and trunkless legs of stone
Stand in the desart.[d] Near them, on the sand,
Half sunk, a shattered visage lies, whose frown,
And wrinkled lip, and sneer of cold command,
Tell that its sculptor well those passions read
Which yet survive, stamped on these lifeless things,
The hand that mocked them and the heart that fed:
And on the pedestal these words appear:
"My name is Ozymandias, King of Kings:
Look on my works, ye Mighty, and despair!"
No thing beside remains. Round the decay
Of that colossal wreck, boundless and bare
The lone and level sands stretch far away.

— Percy Shelley, "Ozymandias", 1819 edition

Where will the mighty 'Jewish State' go after letting greed usurp humanity?

The libraries are full of examples, there for the taking. But the Kings of Kings heed no warnings, can learn no lessons. They are his 'chosen' people.

Hezbollah condemns Israeli vote on 'sovereignty' over West Bank

from al Mayadeen English

Hezbollah has strongly condemned the Israeli Knesset’s vote on Wednesday in favor of a bill to impose “Israeli sovereignty” over the occupied West Bank and Jordan Valley, describing it as a dangerous reaffirmation of "Israel's" expansionist and colonial agenda.

In a statement issued Thursday, Hezbollah warned that allowing the Israeli occupation to continue its actions unchallenged would only embolden further aggression. “The Israeli occupation will not stop at the borders of the West Bank, al-Quds, or Palestine,” the Lebanese Resistance declared, adding that “its plans will eventually encompass the entire region.”

Hezbollah stressed that no country or group in the region is safe from what it described as a broader Israeli scheme for regional control. It linked the continued military aggression on Lebanon and Syria, including attacks, incursions, and land seizures, as well as the war on Yemen, to a unified strategy aimed at advancing the Israeli entity’s expansionist ambitions.

It said the Knesset’s move comes amid the ongoing genocide against the Palestinian people in Gaza.

“With each passing day of the war on the Palestinian people, and the ongoing genocide, siege, and starvation campaign in Gaza, the expansionist Israeli policies and the Talmudic dreams of establishing what is called the historical homeland of the Jewish people are surfacing more blatantly,” Hezbollah's statement read...

Ankara condemns Israeli parliament’s call to annex occupied West Bank

(Imagine that. The 'Jewish State' voting to steal some shit from other people. What are the odds?)

(But we are told over and over and over again it's all about Hamas. It's all about Oct. 7th. It's all about Jews feeling safe. Turns out all of that is bullshit. They knew before Oct. 7th and let it happen anyway so they could use it as cover to launch Greater Israel plan in earnest. And this is the West Bank. Hamas doesn't run the West Bank. They just want to steal the land and the West Bank, thanks to Vichy Fatah and PA is the easiest mark to start with. Plus, they figure, America is distracted by Trump and Epstein so... never let a crisis go to waste.)

from Daily Sabah

Türkiye has strongly condemned the Israeli parliament's recent resolution urging the government to annex the occupied West Bank, denouncing the move as a flagrant violation of international law and a dangerous provocation.

In a written statement issued Wednesday, the Foreign Ministry declared the resolution “null and void under international law and without any validity,” stressing that the West Bank is Palestinian territory that has remained under Israeli occupation since 1967.

The ministry criticized the move as part of broader efforts by Israel to undermine peace and destabilize the region.

“Any Israeli attempt at annexation is illegitimate and provocative,” the statement read, warning that Israel's “violent policies and unlawful actions” are not only worsening the humanitarian crisis but also threatening international order and regional security.

Türkiye calls on the international community to take immediate and concrete steps to halt Israel’s actions, the statement said.

“Binding and deterrent measures must be taken without delay against genocidal Israel’s aggression; the legal and moral obligations of the international system must be effectively fulfilled,” the statement urged.

Earlier this week, the Israeli parliament voted in favor of a resolution calling on the government to annex the West Bank – territory internationally recognized as occupied Palestinian land. Of the 120 Knesset members, 71 supported the resolution, 13 opposed it, and the rest abstained.

The resolution claims the West Bank as “the historical, cultural and spiritual homeland of the Jewish people and an inseparable part of the Land of Israel.”...

Israeli settler violence leaves Ramallah-area villages reeling after five Palestinians killed in two weeks

from Mondoweiss

Five lives in two weeks, and dozens of injured and wounded. The toll of Israeli settler violence on Palestinians has been rising in recent weeks as rampages against Palestinian towns and villages continue to escalate, especially in the region east of Ramallah, in the central occupied West Bank.

On June 25, Israeli settlers killed three Palestinians in the village of Kufr Malik, east of Ramallah. The attack came two days after a 15-year-old teenager from the village was killed by Israeli forces. Last Saturday, July 12, Israeli settlers attacked the village of Sinjil, ten minutes away from Kufr Malik, in the dozens, rampaging through the village. The attack resulted in the killing of two Palestinians, one of them a U.S. citizen.

Sayfollah Musallat, 20, came from his hometown of Mazraa Sharqiyeh, alongside dozens of Palestinians to help the people of Sinjil push back the settlers’ attack. The young man went missing and was found hours later severely beaten. He was pronounced dead shortly after.

Dyaa Karakra, an ambulance driver, was also among the people who came from nearby villages to help the people of Sinjil during the settler attack...

Family of US citizen killed by Israeli settlers in West Bank demand probe

from PressTV

Family members of Sayfollah Musallet, a 20-year-old American beaten to death by Israeli settlers in the occupied West Bank, have urged the US government to investigate the incident and hold perpetrators accountable.

Musallet’s family said in a statement that Israeli settlers surrounded him for three hours during the assault on Friday and attacked medics who were attempting to reach him.

“This is an unimaginable nightmare and injustice that no family should ever have to face,” the statement said.

“We demand the US State Department lead an immediate investigation and hold the Israeli settlers who killed Saif accountable for their crimes. We demand justice.”

The US has previously resisted calls to investigate the killing of US citizens by Israeli forces. Instead, US officials say that Israel is capable of investigating its own abuses.

However, Israeli investigations rarely lead to criminal charges against settlers or soldiers, despite their well-documented violations against Palestinians...

Israeli settlers committing regime-backed ‘war crimes’ in West Bank: Ex-PM Olmert

from PressTV

Former Israeli prime minister Ehud Olmert says settlers have been committing “war crimes” against Palestinians in the occupied West Bank under the protection of the Tel Aviv regime.

Speaking on Israel’s Channel 13 on Saturday, Olmert said “hilltop youth” or “youths of horror” assault Palestinians, run off their lands and torch their homes, on a daily basis.

“In the West Bank, war crimes are occurring daily. Jews are murdering Palestinians. Burning them,” he added.

The Israeli police shut their eyes to the settler violence, while the military does not do what it is supposed to do.

However, the hosts of the show alleged that only a small minority of Israeli settlers attack Palestinians.

Olmert refuted the claim, saying, “This is not a minority, that’s a false claim. They (the settlers) have backing, otherwise they wouldn’t be able to do it.”

He further referred to the case of Sayfollah Musallet, a young Palestinian-American man who was beaten to death by Israeli settlers in the West Bank town of Sinjil on Friday...

Israeli settlers beat U.S. citizen to death in West Bank

from NPR

Israeli settlers in the occupied West Bank beat a U.S. citizen to death, according to local officials, during a Friday confrontation between a group of Israelis and Palestinians.

A municipal official and a relative of 21-year-old Sayfollah Musallet confirmed his death to NPR. Musallet was born in Florida and was in the village of Sinjil this week visiting family.

The Israeli military said that a confrontation had broken out between Palestinians and Israelis, and officials were investigating reports of a Palestinian civilian killed.

A U.S. embassy spokesperson confirmed Musallet's death.

Israeli officials rarely prosecute those accused of violence against Palestinians, and when they do, a very small percentage end in conviction...

Israeli settlers beat a Palestinian-American man to death and fatally shot another during a coordinated assault on villagers in the occupied West Bank on Friday.

Saif al-Din Musalat, 23, died after being "severely beaten across various parts of his body", the Palestinian Ministry of Health said.

Witnesses told Middle East Eye that settlers struck him in the head, abdomen and back.

While he was critically wounded, settlers held him and blocked an ambulance from reaching him for 40 minutes. He died en route to hospital.

Musalat was an American citizen. His funeral was postponed to allow his father to arrive from the United States.

The second victim, 23-year-old Muhammad Shalabi, went missing during the settler attack.

Residents later found his body among bushes, bearing gunshot wounds and facial bruises.

Witnesses said he appeared to have been beaten before being shot.

Israeli settlers kill American-Palestinian visiting relatives in West Bank, says family

A 20-year-old Palestinian-American was killed by Israeli settlers while visiting relatives in the occupied West Bank, his family have said.

Sayfollah “Saif” Musallet was reportedly beaten by Israeli settlers while he was on his family’s farm in an area near Ramallah. A group then prevented ambulances from reaching Musallet for three hours, according to the family, who said he died of his injuries before reaching hospital.

“I was the first one to reach Saif,” said Mohammed Nael Hijaz, a 22-year-old friend of Musallet. “He was not moving when I got there and he could barely breathe. There was time to save him.”

Another Palestinian man, 23-year-old Razek Hussein al-Shalabi, was fatally shot during the attack and was left to bleed to death, the Palestinian health ministry said. The funeral for both men will be held on Sunday so they can be buried together, according to a cousin of Musallet.

The attacks come amid a wave of increasing Israeli settler violence targeting Palestinians in the West Bank – more than 1,000 Paestinians have been killed and at least 9,000 injured since Hamas militants launched a murderous assault in southern Israel on 7 October 2023.

Palestinian-American from Tampa beaten to death in West Bank, family says

from CBS (H/T AuntBB)

The relatives of American Saifullah Kamel Musallet told CBS News on Saturday that the 20-year-old man from Tampa was beaten to death Friday by settlers in the Israel-occupied West Bank, where he was visiting family.

Musallet was meant to be headed back to Florida this week, his relatives said. He was killed in a confrontation with settlers while protecting his family's land in the town of Sinjil, north of Ramallah, according to his family and the Palestinian Health Ministry.

Settlers allegedly surrounded Musallet for more than three hours, blocking an ambulance and paramedics from reaching him, according to a statement from the family. His younger brother carried him to an ambulance after the mob cleared, but Musallet died before reaching the hospital, the statement said.

Mohammed Saber Zaben, the head of the local municipality of al Sharqiya, told CBS News on Friday that the majority of the landowners in his region are Palestinian-Americans who hold U.S. citizenship and that some have been physically attacked and had their property destroyed amid ongoing tensions between settlers and residents. He said the settlers have prevented Palestinian farmers from accessing their lands as part of a plan to establish an illegal outpost on the privately owned lands. Under international law, the areas are known as A and B within the Occupied West Bank.

West Bank tensions spike as Israeli forces, settlers carry out violent raids

from PressTV

Israeli forces have intensified their violent incursions into numerous areas of the West Bank, as the occupying entity continues its aggressive actions in the region alongside the ongoing genocide in Gaza.

Palestine’s official news agency WAFA said two Palestinian youths were injured on Saturday evening by the Israeli occupation forces in the east of the occupied West Bank city of Ariha.

One of them was wounded by live gunfire and another as a result of physical assault, the report added.

“One of the victims sustained a live bullet wound, while the other suffered a head injury due to beating. Both were transferred to hospital for treatment,” the Palestinian Red Crescent Society said.

WAFA also reported that Israeli forces had set up a military checkpoint east of Ariha, where they opened live fire at civilians and assaulted several others.

In another development on Saturday evening, several Palestinians were injured when dozens of Israeli settlers attacked the town of Deir Dibwan, located east of Ramallah.

WAFA said the settlers stormed the eastern entrance of the town and attempted to force their way in while local residents confronted them, which resulted in multiple minor injuries among the Palestinians...

Israel announces expansion of illegal settlements in occupied West Bank

from al Jazeera

The Israeli government says it will establish 22 illegal settlements on Palestinian land in the occupied West Bank, including the legalisation of some so-called “outposts” already built without government authorisation, in a move decried by Palestinian officials and rights groups.

Defence Minister Israel Katz and Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich announced the decision on Thursday, with Katz saying that it “strengthens our hold on Judea and Samaria,” using an Israeli term for the occupied West Bank.

He added it was also “a strategic move that prevents the establishment of a Palestinian state that would endanger Israel”.

Smotrich, himself a settler on illegally occupied Palestinian-owned land and an advocate for Israeli annexation of the West Bank, hailed the “historic decision”.

In a statement, the Likud party of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu described the move as a “once-in-a-generation decision”, emphasising its strategic value in fortifying Israel’s hold along the eastern border with Jordan...

‘Sadistic assault’: Israeli settlers storm al-Aqsa Mosque as regime escalates West Bank raids

from PressTV

Illegal Israeli settlers have violated the al-Aqsa Mosque’s compound in occupied East al-Quds under heavy police protection as the regime forces have escalated their relentless assault on the occupied West Bank.

On Tuesday, witnesses reported that the settlers, led by extremist Rabbi Shimshon Alboim, who is a vocal supporter for “demolition” of the mosque -- Muslim’s third-holiest site -- to build, what he calls, a temple, stormed the site’s courtyards in a manner, described by locals, as highly provocative.

Israeli forces imposed severe restrictions on Palestinian worshippers during the attack, with many reporting confiscation of identity cards at the mosque’s gates and limited access to the holy site.

The al-Quds Islamic Waqf (Endowment) organization, which oversees the mosque, confirmed that extremist groups known as the so-called “Temple Groups” were intensifying efforts to gain unrestricted access to the site.

A petition urging controversial Israeli minister Itamar Ben-Gvir to facilitate such access has been launched, with a targeted date of May 26, the body noted.

The date marks the 1967 Western-backed Israeli occupation of East al-Quds, which is marked by Israeli extremists through provocative marches in West Bank neighborhoods...

The ICJ, Israel and the Gaza Blockade

from Counter Punch

The murder and starvation of populations in real time, subject to rolling coverage and commentary, is not usually the done thing.  These are the sorts of activities kept quiet and secluded in their vicious execution.  In the Gaza Strip, these actions are taking place with a confident, almost brazen assuredness.

Israel has the means, the weapons and the sheer gumption to do so, and Palestinians in Gaza find themselves with few options for survival.  The strategic objectives of the Jewish state, involving, for instance, the elimination of Hamas, have been shown to be nonsensically irrelevant, given that they are unattainable.  Failed policies of de facto annexation and occupation are re-entering the national security argot.

In yet another round of proceedings, this time initiated by a UN General Assembly resolution, the International Court of Justice is hearing from an array of nations and bodies (40 states and four international organisations) regarding Israel’s complete blockade of Gaza since March 2.  Also featuring prominently are Israel’s efforts to attack the United Nations itself, notably UNRWA, the relief agency charged with aiding Palestinians...
