Modi, Xi Pledge to Strengthen China-India Relations

(Color Revolution in India in... 5... 4... 3...)

from al Maydeen English

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi met Chinese President Xi Jinping on Sunday, August 31, stressing New Delhi’s commitment to improving China-India relations.

The meeting took place on the sidelines of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) summit, where leaders from Asia gathered in a display of Global South solidarity.

Modi’s first visit to China in seven years came shortly after Washington imposed steep 50% tariffs on Indian goods over New Delhi’s continued purchases of Russian oil. Analysts say both leaders sought to present a united front against Western pressure.

According to India’s Foreign Ministry, Modi told Xi that the relationship should be based on “mutual respect, trust and sensitivities” and not viewed through the lens of a third country...

Modi and Lula discuss Trump's tariffs amid strained trade relations with US

(As expected, Trump's ridiculous tariff plan (raise more taxes from the American people to cover costs of giving trillions to Big Business and billionaires) is only succeeding in 1. making our economy scream and 2. driving other nations closer together in trade and their hatred of us. Promises made, promises kept.)

from PressTV

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva have spoken by phone regarding various issues, including the tariffs recently imposed by the United States on goods from both nations.

Lula confirmed a state visit to India in early 2026 during the call on Thursday, a day after the Brazilian leader told Reuters news agency he would initiate a conversation among the BRICS group of countries on addressing US President Donald Trump's tariff measures.

The group of major emerging economies also includes China, Russia and South Africa.

Lula's office confirmed that in the call, both leaders discussed the international economic situation and the unilateral tariffs affecting Brazil and India, which are among the nations most impacted by Trump's actions.

Trump recently imposed a 25% tariff on Indian goods, raising the total tariff to 50%, alleging that India continues to purchase Russian oil.

He also imposed similar tariffs on Brazil, affecting sectors including aircraft, energy, and orange juice.

During the conversation, Modi and Lula reiterated their goal of increasing bilateral trade to over $20 billion annually by 2030, up from approximately $12 billion last year.

They also agreed to enhance the scope of their preferential trade agreement and discussed virtual payment platforms to facilitate trade...

Trump pledges to ‘substantially’ raise US tariffs on India over Russian oil

(Trump's tariffs are causing a great deal of harm to American citizens, some of whom were foolish enough to vote for him less than a year ago or buy his grifting BS ever since. So now, he imposes even more of them. Brilliant.

But that's what you voted for, right?)

from al Jazeera

United States President Donald Trump says he will “substantially” raise tariffs on India, intensifying the row between the two countries after years of rapprochement.

Trump accused India in a social media post on Monday of buying and reselling “massive amounts” of Russian oil “for big profits”.

“They don’t care how many people in Ukraine are being killed by the Russian War Machine,” the US president wrote. “Because of this, I will be substantially raising the Tariff paid by India to the USA. Thank you for your attention to this matter!!!”

He did not specify the rate of the tariffs or when they would take effect. The US imported $87.4bn in Indian goods in 2024, according to US government data.

Last week, Trump announced 25 percent tariffs on Indian goods, citing New Delhi’s levies on US products and purchases of Russian oil and military equipment.

Later on Monday, India rejected Western criticism of its business dealings with Russia, noting that the US and European countries have continued to import Russian goods and energy products after the war...

India repels Pak attack on targets in 15 cities, neutralises Lahore's air defence

from India Today

The armed forces targeted air defence radars at a number of locations in Pakistan and destroyed the system in Lahore on Thursday after Islamabad attempted to strike 15 military targets in India in response to Operation Sindoor.

Sources said Pakistan's HQ-9 missile defence system units, developed by China, were hit by Israeli-made HARPY kamikaze drones, effectively rendering the Pakistani army defenceless in Lahore.

The government's statement came shortly after Pakistan claimed one drone crashed near Lahore, while 12 others were taken down close to Gujranwala, Chakwal, Bahawalpur, Miano, Karachi, Chhor, Rawalpindi, and Attock.

Pakistan claimed that four army personnel sustained injuries in Lahore while one civilian was killed in Miano, Sindh.

The incident comes a day after India struck terror camps in Pakistan, in an operation named 'Sindoor', in response to the Pahalgam terror attack, which claimed 26 lives...

24 Strikes, 9 Terror Camps, 70 Killed: India Rained Hell For 25 Minutes

from NDTV

It took just 25 minutes for India to unleash 24 missiles that struck nine terror camps and killed 70 terrorists in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir. The strikes, which lasted from 1:05 AM to 1:30 AM on May 7, were carried out jointly by the Indian Army and the Air Force under the codename Operation Sindoor.

At a press briefing in New Delhi, Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri, flanked by Colonel Sophia Qureshi and Wing Commander Vyomika Singh, said the operation was a "measured and proportionate" response to the April 22 terror attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir. That assault, attributed to Pakistan-based terror groups, claimed the lives of 26 people, including one Nepali national, and left many others injured.

Colonel Qureshi said that the operation marked a shift in strategy. "For the last three decades, Pakistan has been constructing terror infrastructure, including recruitment centres, training areas, and launch pads across PoJK and Pakistan. This operation was intended to dismantle those facilities and prevent future attacks," she said.

"Our intelligence indicated that further attacks against India are impending. Thus, compulsion, both to deter and prevent and hence earlier this morning, India exercised its right to respond to deter such more cross-border terrorism... Our actions were measured and non-escalatory, proportionate and responsible. They focused on dismantling terrorists' infrastructure," said Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri...

Scott and Izzy Discuss Operation Sindoor and ISI Involvement in 9/11

Yeah no I wont be backing the ISI's LeT terrorists on this one, thanks.

India Strikes Pakistan but Is Said to Have Lost Jets

(Pakistan is trying to escalate the conflict while India is doing the opposite. They have every right to strike the terrorist training facilities after the recent attack. Seems like they hit 5 locations and Pakistan claims they only killed 20 people, hardly targeting population centers. And India waited for Pakistan to take action against LeT which is run by the ISI and CIA, but they did NOTHING so India took action which was within their rights to do. We can judge from Pakistan's behavior who is to blame for this destabilization campaign and who is in the right.)

from the NYT

...

India said on Wednesday that it had struck Pakistan after gathering evidence “pointing towards the clear involvement of Pakistan-based terrorists” in last month’s attack on civilians in a tourist area in Kashmir. It said that its military actions had been “measured, responsible and designed to be nonescalatory in nature.” It added that it had targeted only “known terror camps.”

In its own statement on Wednesday, the Pakistani government called the Indian strikes “an unprovoked and blatant act of war” that had “violated Pakistan’s sovereignty.” Pakistani military officials said they had begun a “measured but forceful” response, and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif claimed that the country’s forces had downed five Indian aircraft — a claim that could not be verified...

The Menace That Is Lashkar-e-Taiba

(Funding to start LeT back in '87 came from Osama bin Laden and his mujaheddin in Afghanistan (1979 to 1988) and it is widely understood (see Hillary Clinton admit in congress that we created and ran bin Laden's mujaheddin in order to drive the Soviet Union out of Afghanistan) which means, the group that brutally attacked tourists in April of 2025 killing 26 people were started, financed and ran by U.S. intel agencies and Pakistan's ISI (which is also run by the CIA))

from Carnegie Endowment 2012

Though the international community first began taking notice of the terrorist group Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) after its spectacular coordinated bombing and shooting attacks in Mumbai, India, in November 2008, the group was established in 1987 at a time when Pakistan was in the throes of Islamic ferment. Then, LeT had access to a steady supply of volunteers, funding, and—most important of all—concerted state support. Long bolstered by Pakistan’s Inter-Services Intelligence Directorate, this Wahhabi group promotes the vision of a universal Islamic caliphate through tableegh and jihad—preaching and armed struggle. Though India and Kashmir have been LeT’s primary area of operations so far, the group has an unsettling presence internationally.

It is clear that after al-Qaeda, LeT is the most dangerous terrorist group operating in South Asia..

TRF head Sheikh Sajjad Gul identified as mastermind behind Pahalgam terror attack

(U.S. intel agencies like the CIA and DIA run Pakistan's ISI who run the proxy army Lashkar-e-Taiba who carried out the attack in India  back in late April. The Indian's know this so they waited for Pakistan to do something to the LeT terrorists and when they didn't India attack LeT training facilities during Operation Sindoor.)

from the Economic Times of India

Sheikh Sajjad Gul, a 50-year-old Kashmiri and head of Lashkar-e-Taiba proxy The Resistance Front (TRF), has emerged as the mastermind of the Pahalgam terror attack, which claimed the lives of 26 people, mostly tourists, on April 22, officials said Wednesday. Holed up in the Cantonment town of Rawalpindi, Pakistan, under the patronage of Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT), Gul, who also goes by the alias of Sajjad Ahmed Sheikh, has been a planner of a number of terror attacks, including targeted killings betw ..

Sheikh The NIA had designated him a terrorist in April 2022 and kept a reward of Rs 10 lakh on his head.  The official said that during the investigation into the deadly April 22 Pahalgam attack, links and some communications have been traced back to Gul. The TRF had claimed responsibility for the attack.

The group, under Gul's instruction, had shot 25 tourists at point-blank range after asking their religion in Pahalgam on April 22. A local tourist guide was also killed by the terrorists.  Used by Pakistan's external snooping agency ISI as a Kashmiri face of the local Punjabi-dominated Lashkar-e-Taiba, Sheikh was educated in Srinagar and did his MBA from Bangalore, later pivoting to a lab technician course in Kerala. He returned to the Valley, where he opened a diagnostic lab and started ..

During his work as an overground worker (OGW) of the terror group, Gul was caught by the Special Cell of the Delhi police in 2002 from Nizamuddin Railway Station with 5 kilograms of RDX. It was revealed that he was conducting a recce and conspiring to conduct serial blasts in the national capital, for which he was sentenced to 10 years imprisonment on August 7, 2003.

He moved to Pakistan after his release from prison in 2017, where the ISI chose him to lead a proxy of the LeT - The Resistance Front (TRF) - in Kashmir in 2019 to give it a facade of an indigenous terror movement of Jammu and Kashmir.

The creation of TRF was a strategy of the ISI in the aftermath of the Pulwama incident in February 2019, when Pakistan had come to the adverse notice of the world for sponsoring and harbouring terror outfits like LeT and JeM.  His brother, an ex-doctor in Shri Maharaja Hari Singh Hospital, Srinagar, was also a terrorist in the 1990s who had migrated to Saudi Arabia and later to Pakistan, where he is now involved in terror funding with fugitives in Gulf countries.

India strikes ‘terrorist targets’ in Pakistan

from RT

...

New Delhi’s precision strike on terrorist camps in Pakistan was a response to last month’s attack in India-controlled Kashmir that left 26 unarmed civilians dead, Tara Kartha, Director for Research and Analysis at the Centre for Land Warfare Studies (CLAWS), told RT, contending that the  move was both necessary and lawful.

She emphasized that India had showed restraint and waited for Pakistan to act against the terrorist networks itself. However, after no action was taken, the country exercised its right under UN conventions to defend itself.

“We waited... hoping they would do something. They didn’t,” Katha said, describing the recent terror attack carried out, as New Delhi maintains, by Pakistan-link terrorists, as brutal, with victims targeted based on religion. According to the expert, India aimed to avoid escalation by targeting only terrorists and leaving civilians unharmed...

Civilian toll mounts as India, Pakistan stand on brink of war

(Looks like someone got what they wanted with their proxy army attack on that tourist spot in India.)

from PressTV

India and Pakistan have started heavy artillery exchanges along their contested frontier, after New Delhi launched missile strikes on its arch-rival in a major escalation between the nuclear-armed neighbors.

Deaths were reported on both sides on Wednesday. Pakistan said Indian strikes had killed at least 26 civilians and wounded 46 others, and India said Pakistani artillery fire had killed 10 civilians and injured 48 others along the de facto border.

Islamabad said it had shot down five Indian Air Force jets.

Tensions intensified after India launched "Operation Sindoor" at about 1 am on Wednesday, executing synchronized missile attacks against nine "terrorist facilities" across Pakistan and Pakistan-administered Kashmir.

India says its missile strikes specifically targeted "militant infrastructure" in Pakistan-administered Kashmir and eastern Punjab province of the country.

An Indian defense ministry statement said the operation came in the wake of the Pahalgam terrorist attack, that killed 25 Indians and one Nepali citizen on April 22.

In a post-strike video shared on X, the Indian army said its operations was "focused, measured and non-escalatory in nature...

Trump pushing India into high-stakes, high-risk China clash

(In Nov of 2024, Lashkar-e-Taiba (The Resistance Front) used grenades to attack target in India: 12 people were injured. On April 22 2025, the same group killed killed 28 people in yet another destabilization attack called 2025 Pahalgam attack.

On Monday, the 21st day of April 2025, JD Vance arrived in India to hold high level talks with Modi in an effort to lock in that country's allegiance to Donald Trump and his trade war with China and the other BRICS and Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) nations.

Pakistan is being blamed in Indian media for the attack in Pahlgam. Pakistan is seeking BRICS membership AND is a member of the SCO.

Lashkar-e-Taiba has been linked to al Qaeda, al Nusra and ISIS in the past in that it is believed to be, like the rest are, controlled by U.S. Special Operations forces as a proxy army.

It is not a coincidence that this attack took place the day after Vance arrived in India. The implication we are meant to read into it is that Pakistan doesn't want India to take sides with the U.S. in this global trade conflict.

That is ridiculous because the only result that could possibly come from this attack would be to drive India further from Pakistan and China and the SCO and BRICS rather than bring them together.

Which is why it is painfully clear who is really behind this brutal attack.)

from Asia Times

US President Donald Trump’s tariff war has sent shockwaves across the global economy, but no leader has felt its sting more keenly than India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Caught in a high-stakes geopolitical bind, India is grappling with an existential dilemma: balancing its vital economic ties with China against the allure of the American market.

On April 2, 2025, the Trump administration slapped a 26% “reciprocal” tariff on Indian goods, forcing New Delhi into fraught negotiations to preserve access to the American market, its largest export destination.

Despite the Indian media’s portrayal of Modi as a “Vishwaguru” (world leader) and indomitable strongman, India’s response has betrayed a surprising deference, seen in fast and big import duty cuts on Harley-Davidson motorbikes and American-made bourbon whiskey amid a broad pledge to tear down trade barriers. New Delhi has also announced plans to buy more US energy and defense products in a bid to placate Trump.

‘Vance Go Back!’ — Indian Farmers on US VP’s Visit

from Consortium News

Thousands of farmers and working-class people in cities and villages across India took to the streets to protest the visit of U.S. Vice President J.D. Vance.  They claim he has come to finalize an agreement which will be a disaster for India’s agriculture and small industries.

Vance arrived in New Delhi on Monday on a four-day tour in the country. As per widespread reports, his primary agenda is to finalize a trade agreement between the two countries.  The talks over the agreement have been ongoing since the Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to the U.S. in February.

The protesters gathered in villages and district headquarters across India with posters and banners denouncing the Indian government’s failures to safeguard their interests and chanting slogans such as “Vance go back,” and “India is not for sale!”  In some places protesters also burned effigies of Vance.

Left-leaning All India Kisan Sabha (AIKS), the largest farmers’ group in the country, issued a statement on April 18 in which it asked all its units to launch the Vance go back campaign and to oppose the proposed trade agreement with the U.S. It called the agreement a surrender of India’s interests.

The AIKS statement claimed that Vance’s visit to India “is a part of putting pressure upon the state of India and the corporate-led ruling classes to surrender the national interests to facilitate windfall profiteering to the multinational companies.” ...

What is The Resistance Front, the group claiming the deadly Kashmir attack?

(It's been widely understood that Lashkar-e-Taiba is just another destabilization proxy army in the mold of al Qaeda, al Nusra or ISIS. The fact that they use Telegram is telling.)

from al Jazeera

Even as news of the deadliest attack on Indian-administered Kashmir’s tourists in decades filtered in on social media platforms and television screens, a message appeared on Telegram chats.

The Resistance Front (TRF), a little-known armed group that emerged in the region in 2019, claimed responsibility for the attack in which at least 26 tourists were killed and more than a dozen others were injured on Tuesday...

... In a message that appeared on Telegram, TRF opposed the granting of residency permits to “outsiders”...

... Indian officials have consistently maintained that, in reality, TRF is an offshoot — or just a front — of the Lashkar-e-Taiba, a Pakistan-based armed group...

India calls Canada arrests over Sikh activist murder ‘political compulsion’

from al Jazeera

Canada’s investigation into alleged Indian involvement in the assassination of a Sikh separatist in Vancouver last year is a “political compulsion”, India’s foreign minister has said after three Indian citizens were arrested over the killing.

Canadian police on Friday arrested the trio for the murder of Hardeep Singh Nijjar, saying they were investigating their links to the Indian government, “if any”. He migrated to Canada in 1997 and acquired citizenship 18 years later.

He was wanted by Indian authorities for alleged terrorism and conspiracy to commit murder, the allegations he had denied. On June 18, 2023, he was shot dead by masked assailants in the car park of the Sikh temple he led in suburban Vancouver.

Nijjar’s killing sent diplomatic relations between Ottawa and New Delhi into a tailspin last year after Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau said there were “credible allegations” linking Indian intelligence to the crime.

India rejected the allegations as “absurd”, temporarily halting the processing of visas and forcing Canada to reduce its diplomatic presence in the country significantly.

“It is their political compulsion in Canada to blame India,” the Press Trust of India news agency quoted India’s External Affairs Minister Subrahmanyam Jaishankar as saying on Saturday...

Palestine solidarity protests face repression in Modi’s India

from Mondoweiss

Over three months into Israel’s indiscriminate bombing of the Gaza Strip, demonstrators across the world have rallied to call for an immediate ceasefire and urgent humanitarian action in Gaza.

Cities in the United States, England, Scotland, France, Germany, and across the Middle East have witnessed massive marches in solidarity with Palestine.

India, too, has seen protests emerge across the country, expressing support for both the Palestinians and Israel.

However, these demonstrations have elicited a contrasting response from the authorities in India. Protests in support of Palestine have faced a brutal crackdown, while demonstrations in support of Israel have been given a free hand.

On October 23, various student-led organizations gathered outside Israel’s embassy in New Delhi to condemn Israeli war crimes in Gaza. Mir Suneem Gul, 25, a student at Jamia Millia Islamia, joined the protest, holding placards in support of Palestine along with her friends. As the protest began, a group of policemen charged at the handful gathered, injuring a few and detaining others.

“We hadn’t even started protesting, and a policewoman dragged me by my collar to detain me,” Gul told Mondoweiss...

India/Pakistan Conflict Escalation: More State-backed Terror Linked to al CIAda

The current escalations of tension between Pakistan and India have their roots in the ISI's creation of the JeM terror attack on Feb. 14 2019. I take take a closer look at where JeM comes from and who might be giving them their marching orders.
