Russia launches terrorism probe into US and NATO officials

An investigation into terrorism funding by Russian intelligence agencies and law enforcement is focusing on selected Western government officials, the country's national Investigative Committee announced on Tuesday.

The probe, which includes investigataions into the massacre at Crocus City Hall and the bombing of the Nord Stream pipelines, was launched after a referral by several Russian lawmakers, accusing the US and its allies of organizing the March 22 attack on the Moscow concert venue. 

Investigators are currently looking at the potential involvement of “specific individuals from among government officials, people with civic and commercial organizations of Western countries,” said committee spokeswoman Svetlana Petrenko...

Washington has insisted there is no reason to search for any other potential suspects besides Islamic State (IS, formerly ISIS), after Moscow said it was looking at certain Western companies and government officials as part of an investigation into the funding of a string of terrorist attacks in Russia.

The Russian Investigative Committee has “established that the funds, flowing through commercial organizations, including the oil and gas conglomerate Burisma Holdings, operating in Ukraine, have been used in recent years to carry out terrorist attacks in Russia,” spokeswoman Svetlana Petrenko said on Tuesday.

Besides last month’s Crocus City Hall massacre outside Moscow, the investigation is looking at other acts of terrorism, including the assassinations of prominent public figures and the bombing of the Nord Stream gas pipelines.

Speaking to journalists on Tuesday, National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan reiterated Washington’s narrative on the Crocus atrocity, while dismissing Moscow's allegations.

“It’s nonsense,” Jake Sullivan stated. “Russia knows it was ISIS who committed the attack in Moscow, we know it was ISIS who committed the attack in Moscow, we warned Russia of an impending terrorist attack in Moscow, and all of the rest of this is noise.” 

Russia launched a probe into allegations that Ukraine and its Western backers are involved in terrorist activities on Russian soil after a referral by several lawmakers in the wake of the March 22 shooting and arson attack, which claimed the lives of at least 140 people.

The investigation has allegedly established that at least some of the terrorist funding was funneled through Ukrainian companies, including the notorious Burisma Holdings – former employers of US President Joe Biden’s son Hunter...

Pro-Ukraine images found on cellphones of Moscow terror attacks suspects – investigators

Images extracted from the cell phones of the terrorists who killed more than 140 people at a concert hall outside Moscow point to a possible link to the ongoing Ukraine conflict, investigators said on Friday.

On March 22, four Tajik nationals opened fire inside the packed Crocus City Hall music venue and then set the building on fire. A total of 145 people were killed and more than 500 were injured in the attack.

The suspected assailants were detained the next day while trying to flee to Ukraine by car, according to the authorities. More suspects were arrested in the following days, most of them of Tajik origin.

The jihadist group Islamic State Khorasan Province (ISIS-K) has claimed responsibility for the attack. The head of Russia’s Federal Security Service (FSB), Aleksandr Bortnikov, however, suggested that the US, UK, and Ukraine may also be linked to the attack, possibly using Islamists as proxies. In their efforts to draw suspicion away from Ukraine by pinning the blame of the Crocus City Hall terrorist attack on ISIS*, US political strategists who came up with this ploy effectively backed themselves into a corner, said Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova.

 

Just like the US meddling in Afghanistan in the 1980s paved the way for the rise of al-Qaeda*, the 2003 US invasion and subsequent de facto occupation of Iraq resulted in the creation of ISIS, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova elaborated in her recent op-ed.

 

Her assessment was shared by Hasan Abdullah, a political scientist at Global Security & Strategy Institute and expert on Islamic militancy, who noted that the US actions in Afghanistan during the Soviet military intervention produced a “conducive environment which was created for the emergence of many groups” that would later “operate in neighboring countries as well.”

 

“You can talk about al-Qaeda as well. Al-Qaeda was one of the groups that emerged from there. So, you could say that the environment that was created, did ultimately pave the way for al-Qaeda as well,” he said.

Russia responds to claims Islamic State behind Moscow terror attack

Western attempts to push the narrative that the Crocus City concert hall shooting was staged by Islamic State (IS, formerly ISIS) without waiting for the investigation to conlcude, look extremely suspicious, Russian Ambassador to the US Anatoly Antonov has said.

On Friday, at least four gunmen attacked the popular venue, located outside Moscow, ahead of a performance by the Russian rock band Picnic, indiscriminately shooting civilians and setting the venue on fire. It was the worst act of terrorism on Russian soil since the early 2000s and left 139 people dead and more than 180 injured.

Russian security services detained four alleged perpetrators who had fled the scene, identified as ethnic Tajiks, in Bryansk Region not far from the Ukrainian border. Russian President Vladimir Putin described the suspects as “radical Islamists,” saying they were caught fleeing “towards Ukraine where, according to preliminary data, a window to cross the border was prepared.”...

The Islamic State – Khorasan Province (ISIS–K) is being blamed by complicit Western media as the ones behind the attack at the Crocus City Hall concert Friday which, so far, has taken the lives of 143 people.

ISIS-K has been around since 2015 and has a long history of carrying out terrorist attacks (mainly but not exclusively) against civilians (soft targets) as well as now serving as our 'stay-behind army' in Afghanistan after our withdrawal from that country and the take over by the Taliban. 

Notice what the NYT write-up says at the end, that they conduct terrorist actions in order to undermine Afghani confidence in Taliban in hopes of a regime change. Sounds kinda like what we want doesn't it?

Who Was Real Mastermind Behind Shooting in Moscow?

At least 143 people were killed in the Crocus City Hall terrorist attack outside Moscow on March 22, with the death toll expected to increase further.

 

Russia's Federal Security Service (FSB) Director Alexander Bortnikov reported on Friday the arrest of 11 suspects in connection with the terrorist attack on the Crocus City Hall concert venue, including all four supposedly directly involved in it. 

 

The suspects were detained in the Bryansk region, which borders Ukraine, according to Bortnikov.

The fact that the suspected terrorists were going to cross the Russian-Ukrainian border shows that they planned their evacuation routes via Ukraine, Andrey Popov, a reserve FSB colonel and member of the Association of Veterans of the Alfa anti-terror group, said in an interview with Sputnik.

“It would be unrealistic for the terrorists to cross the Ukrainian border without contacts with the country’s special services or the Ukrainian side on the whole,” Popov said.

 

"In other words, the version about ISIS’* involvement in the Crocus City Hall attack – claimed by the US-led West - holds no water. All these citizens with Tajik passports were moving towards Ukraine, which indicates that it was the Kiev regime who ordered this atrocity," the reserve FSP colonel added, referring to the attack.

 

He also suggested that Washington could "directly or indirectly" organize this deadly shooting rampage and that the US could “definitely” finance it, because "terrorism in the form of Ukraine has no other sources of funding except from the US and the UK."

 

He recalled in this vein that the US had not extended condolences to Russia in connection with the Crocus City Hall attack, which was not the case with Russian President Vladimir Putin, who offered his condolences in light of the 9/11 terrorist attack in America...

This Is Not ISIS - Rossiya Segodnya Editor-in-Chief on Moscow Concert Hall Attack

Ukraine and the West have resorted to false flag operations to persuade everyone that ISIS* was behind the terror attack in the Crocus City Hall concert venue near Moscow, said Margarita Simonyan, the editor-in-chief of Sputnik's parent media group Rossiya Segodnya.

The head of the media group stressed that the names and faces of the perpetrators are already known to authorities and that the terrorists gave everything away during interrogation.

 

“It immediately became obvious why US media were claiming in unison that it was ISIS," she said.

Simonyan explained that the perpetrators were chosen to carry out the attack in a manner that would allow the West to persuade the international community that ISIS was behind the attack.

 

“Basic sleight of hand. The level of a railway thimble-rigger," she added." It has nothing to do with ISIS. It's Ukrainians."

She added that the enthusiasm displayed by Western media when they tried to persuade everyone that ISIS was responsible even before arrests were made gave them away completely.

 

“This is not ISIS. This is a well-coordinated team of several other, also widely known, abbreviations," Simonyan concluded.
