We had another Twitter Spaces chat. We must be doing something right cus we have a new troll, Liberty something or other. It was fun. Enjoyable. Troll gonna troll. Call people names. Everything is Putin's fault. I am a traitor for not backing neo-Nazi regime in Ukraine or something like that. 

But it's all fun and games til someone calls BB a bitch and then we pulled the plug. To bad these guys can't manage to pretend to be human for more than 15 minutes.

Last night I had the pleasure of enjoying a relaxing Thanksgiving Eve Spaces chat W/ AuntBB and DoodleBob. Nate and Dan showed up and hung out for a bit. Really enjoyed it. Still working on going live on YouTube but that is down the road a bit I guess. No worries. The Spaces thing was fun.

Twitter Spaces Chat Today at 5pm Eastern

Morning folks.

We will be doing another Twitter Spaces chat later today at 5pm Eastern on my Twitter feed. I am happy too say AuntBB and DoodleBob will be there along with anyone else who happens by and wants to chat or just hang out.

Bluesky, Gaza, Trump's neocon administration taking shape and perhaps a little BRICS news are on the schedule for discussion along with whatever the audience brings up, provided there is an audience.

It's been a while since we have done one of these and given how I feel about Musk and Twitter now, will probably be a long while before we do another one. On this platform anyway.

We will also talk about the recent spate of race-baiting that has been taking place ever since Trump 'won' the election.

And, I will posit the possibility of doing a live, daily Twitch news hour just too see if folks think that might be worth the effort.

Anyway, 5pm tonight. The Usual Suspects. Come by, say hi and tell us what you really think.

Bluesky adds 1 million users after US election as users ditch X

Social media platform Bluesky has gained more than one million new users since the US presidential election, benefitting from an exodus of people unhappy with the direction of X under billionaire owner Elon Musk.

The micro-blogging site said on Wednesday that it had topped 15 million users, up from about nine million in September.

Started by Twitter founder Jack Dorsey in 2019, Bluesky has gained a reputation as a refuge for left-leaning users disaffected by X’s rightward turn under Musk’s stewardship.

Some Bluesky users have cited Musk’s alliance with US President-elect Donald Trump and a rise in hateful content on X as reasons for making the jump to the platform.

“Hello Less Hateful World,” billionaire Mark Cuban, who backed Vice President Kamala Harris during the election, posted on Tuesday.

On Wednesday, The Guardian newspaper announced it would no longer post content on X due to the “disturbing content” on the “toxic media platform”, including racism and conspiracy theories...

Introducing scotty's sideshow

kenny's sideshow was a great WordPress blog back in the day. A place to get together, read thought provoking writing and just touch base with like minded folks sitting back watching the world go absolutely batshit crazy.

Kenny was an insightful, talented writer who passed away far before his time. He and what he created, his vision, his humor, is missed by many from the neighborhood to this day.

As a nod to Kenny I decided to call our new weekly Twitter Space chat scotty's sideshow. It's an homage surely but also a reminder that though we're just fleeting specs of ego-driven animated star dust, what we give of ourselves, not what we take, lives on. And Kenny gave a lot.

With what happened yesterday purely by chance, I decided to make Twitter Space chats a weekly thing. I know everyone isn't on Twitter and maybe in the future it becomes a YouTube live chat or Discord or some other venue. But for now it's Twitter Space and we'll see how it goes from there. 

I enjoy talking with you guys and chatting about whatever horrible crap the masters of the universe have in store for us next. Just the Neighborhood Crowd watching in awe as it all goes down the drain. At least we got good seats and should try our best to take it all in with good company.

DoodleBob put together a poll on Twitter so we can all agree on a day of the week to do it. Mon-Thurs are the options. I guess Doodle likes his Fridays all you can eat wing buffet so that's off the table.

Please go over and cast a vote. The time will be set at 5pm eastern for whatever day wins out. Got 4 more days. We start next week. Mon-Thurs doesn't really matter to me since all I got is time.

Church and Beau want to see you there as do the damn evil cats. And so do I for that matter. Those damn evil cats.

Shit's about to get wild, folks so lets milk it for all the laughs we can.

My First Twitter Space Chat Turned Out Great

 What a fun talk. Thought no one would show up and we ended up talking for an hour and a half. What a joy. Going to do it every week now. Gotta think of a name for it.
