Obama’s Salvador Option in Iraq: Death Squads Getting a Little Mainstream Attention… a little (archive)

(archived from February 8, 2015)

by Scott Creighton

The consequence of not mentioning the connection between the US and the Iranian-backed Badr Brigade militia, the US-backed Wolf Brigade and other Special Police Commando units, or the extent of American recruitment, training, command, and control of these units[19] distorted perceptions of events in Iraq, creating the impression of senseless violence initiated by the Iraqis themselves and concealing the American hand in the planning and execution of the most savage forms of violence. Dirk Adriaensens, Brussels Tribunal

The fervor over the fake “burning man” video is laughable to the point of tears. It’s ridiculous actually when you put that one guy acting in a movie pretending to be about to die, in context of what our secret warriors have really done to millions of civilians over the past few decades. What our secret warriors, our “freedom fighters”, are STILL doing in Iraq as we speak.

Today, the New York Times had to shed a tiny bit of light on the reality creeping out of occupied Iraq and that reality is… yes, our puppet regime has unleashed organized death squads (just like I wrote about nearly a year ago and again in Aug.) on the population of their country who happen to opposed the corrupt, brutal government we installed.

Of course, the New York Times, the sickening subservient sycophants to global power structures that they are, had to present these monsters in the kindest, most endearing light they could muster. This is the new face of the old death squads of the Iraq Salvador Option under President Peace Prize’s administration, so of course, the Times had to present them like Bill Clinton playing a sax on Saturday Night Live.

Iraq, US to hold more talks on withdrawal amid strikes in Baghdad

from Daily Sabah

Iraq and the U.S. agreed to hold the second round of discussions on the withdrawal of U.S.-led coalition forces, Baghdad said Thursday, as the U.S. continued to hit targets in Baghdad, killing at least 40 Iran-backed militants.

The foreign ministry said the second meeting will take place on Feb. 11. The first meeting was held on Jan. 27.

Iraq previously announced that an agreement had been reached with the U.S. on Jan. 25 to establish a timetable for the end of the military mission of the coalition established under the leadership of the U.S. against the Daesh/terrorist group and the gradual reduction of coalition advisors.

Bases belonging to the coalition forces have come under attack from Iran-backed militia forces many times.

Meanwhile, the Pentagon said over 40 Iranian-backed militants were killed in a series of airstrikes conducted by the U.S. last week in retaliation for the killings of three American troops...

Biden promises more US airstrikes

from RT

President Joe Biden has defended the US response to a recent drone strike that left three American soldiers dead, claiming that the air raids have targeted militia groups in Iraq and Syria allegedly backed by Iran.

In a statement issued on Friday, Biden said he personally ordered the Pentagon’s response to last weekend’s deadly drone strike on a Jordanian military base housing US troops.

“This afternoon, at my direction, US military forces struck targets at facilities in Iraq and Syria that the IRGC and affiliated militia use to attack US forces,” the president said, referring to Tehran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, an elite military unit.

“Our response began today,” Biden stated, adding that retaliatory strikes would continue “at times and places of our choosing.”

US defense chief Lloyd Austin also warned that the latest round of strikes is just “the start of our response,” adding that “the president has directed additional actions.”...

US aggression aimed to revive Daesh in Syria, Iraq: Syrian Defense Ministry

(Once again our military is used in support of our proxy army, ISIS, in Syria and Iraq. We have been supporting these terrorists, keeping the Syrian army from destroying them, for years. Imagine that, our troops being forced to fight on the side of ISIS.)

 from Press TV

The Syrian Defense Ministry has blasted deadly strikes by the US occupation forces against a number of sites in Iraq and Syria, saying Washington’s assault is aimed at reviving the Daesh terrorist group in the two neighboring countries.

Syria’s state news agency SANA cited the ministry as making the remark in a statement on Saturday, hours after the US Central Command (CENTCOM) said its forces had struck more than 85 targets “with numerous aircraft” during overnight raids on localities in Iraq and Syria.

The Syrian state media reported that the US aggression targeted positions in Syria’s eastern province of Dayr al-Zawr and the city of al-Bukamal near the Iraqi border, falling short of providing details on the extent of damage and the exact number of casualties.

“The American occupation forces launched, at dawn today, a blatant air aggression against a number of sites and towns in the eastern region of Syria and near the Syrian-Iraqi borders, which led to the martyrdom of a number of civilians and soldiers, the wounding of others, and the infliction of great damage on public and private property,” the statement said.

The ministry stressed that the targeted sites were located in the same area where the Syrian army forces are fighting the remnants of Daesh, which bespeaks Washington’s attempts to deter Damascus from fighting terrorism and to “revive” the terrorist group.

“The area targeted by the American attacks in eastern Syria is the same area where the Syrian Arab Army is fighting the remnants of the terrorist organization Daesh, and this confirms that the United States and its military forces are involved and allied with this organization, and are working to revive it as a field arm for it, whether in Syria or elsewhere in Iraq by all dirty means,” the statement said...

Iraq wants to kick out US troops

from RT

Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shia Al Sudani has promised to launch a process to expel international coalition forces from the country, after a US airstrike killed a high-ranking militia commander in Baghdad.

An attack hit the headquarters of the Popular Mobilization Forces, an Iraqi state-sponsored umbrella organization composed of dozens of armed factions, on Thursday. At least two people were killed, including Mushtaq Taleb al-Saidi, the leader of Harakat Hezbollah al-Nujaba (HHN), which Washington has listed as a terrorist group and claims is backed by Iran.

“The Popular Mobilization Forces represent an official presence affiliated with the state, subject to it, and an integral part of our armed forces,” the Iraqi prime minister stated on Friday. “We condemn the attacks targeting our security forces, which go beyond the spirit and letter of the mandate that created the international coalition.”..

Peter Kassig Was Part of Gen. McChrystal’s “Killing Machine” in Iraq from 2006-2007 (archive)

(archived from November 17, 2014)

by Scott Creighton

Peter Kassig, whatever else he was, was no “humanitarian” and in all likelihood, he was operating a front NGO out of Turkey helping train and supply Barack Obama’s regime change destabilization campaign of death-squads in Syria from late 2012 to Oct. 2013. That conclusion is based on the fact that he was indeed a special forces Ranger with the 75th Ranger Regiment in Iraq from mid-2006 to 2007.

(in 2006) Kassig then became a U.S. Army Ranger, with an army special operations unit, 1st Battalion, 75th Ranger Regiment. His service including training in Fort Benning, Georgia, and a fourteen-month deployment to Iraq, from June 2006 to September 2007, when he received a medical dischargeWiki bio

What were the 75th Ranger Regiment doing in Iraq during that time? It’s called the Salvador Option and it’s basically the same thing we are doing now: training and aiding pro-government death-squads in Iraq in order to quell an uprising against our puppet regime, to make them “obey and submit” to our occupation.

Bush Laughs 'Well, Iraq Too' as his Soulless Corporate Ghoul Audience Laughs

This is what corporate fascism means. Not only the horrors that we accuse others of committing we commit ourselves but it infects all those who subscribe to it's ideology like some perverse form of Trickle Down Evil. Some call it savage. I call it craven capitalism. And we can't ignore it any longer.

John Kirby Lied About Our Midnight Attack on Syrian and Iraq Positions

There was no recent 'unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) attacks against U.S. personnel and facilities in Iraq' according to Col. Wayne Marotto, director of public affairs and spokesperson of Combined Joint Task Force-Operation Inherent Resolve. We just don't like the 'poisonous ideology' of the Shiites who want us out of their country. Period.

ISIS™ Defined

(archive) Posted on October 9, 2014 by willyloman

by Scott Creighton

Of terrorists and Ba’athists

ISIS™ is a trademark, it’s a catch-phrase, it’s a marketing slogan for an unpopular and unwanted war… at least, an unpopular and unwanted war if anyone really knew why we were there and who we were bombing.

That’s why ISIS™ always seems to be their own worst enemy; making fake beheading videos in which no one gets beheaded, producing said videos at just the right time to provide cover for U.S. or British legal actions against ISIS™, meeting with American politicians in order to get huge amounts of unconventional warfare cash, committing the Yasidi Genocide that turned out to be nothing at all, beheading babies that turned out to not have happened at all, recruiting toddlers and giving them guns bigger than they are and generally parading around in U.S. surplus military gear waving flags and looking about as menacing as your average Junior ROTC Float on Independence Day.

The “ISIS™ is EVERYWHERE!” story has become so ludicrous even the leading propagandist for everything Obama, Jon Stewart, had poke fun at the stupidity of it all last night.

“You guys said ISIS is the most evil thing since Hitler’s sliced bread. For God’s sakes, you broke into ‘Dancing With The Stars’ to tell us we’re hunting down members and assets wherever they are,” Stewart said. “Well, these guys are burning tank donuts on a Kobani hilltop and they are ISIS so what’s up?” Huffington Post

Of course, Stewart was “jokingly” prodding the Obama administration into bombing a Syrian town, getting his fake “liberal” audience to laugh along with his backhanded warmongering.

However, the point here is, the ISIS™ Crisis story is wearing thin and even those dedicated to it’s continual promotion are starting to poke fun at it if for no other reason than their instinct for self-preservation.

I’m often asked “if I don’t believe the stories about ISIS, then why are we there?” and that is a legitimate question. Here’s the answer:

“The stabilization of Iraq has become wedged on a plateau, beyond which further improvement will be a slow process” absent some critical catalyzing event or events like a New Pearl Harbor.

We are Not Fighting ISIS™ in Iraq. We are Bombing The General Military Council for Iraqi Revolutionaries

(archive) Posted on September 25, 2014 by willyloman

by Scott Creighton

The people fighting to liberate Iraq from us are not in cahoots with ISIS™ and neither am I. But someone is. And it’s time you decided what side you are on as well just as it was in 2003. It’s darker now but the light is out there. You just have to look for it a little harder, that’s all.

We are not fighting ISIS™ in Iraq. As I have stated many times, we are using our military and our resources to target a legitimate uprising in the country George W. Bush illegally invaded and occupied for years on behalf of our “national interests” i.e. Big Oil, Big Business, Big Banking and our “friends in the region” (Jordan, Saudi Arabia, Qatar and Israel).

It is the continuation of a program started by Bush’s father via direct military conflict, continued by the Clinton administration via sanctions that killed upwards of 500,000 children (which Madeleine Albright later claimed was “worth it”) and ultimately ending with a massive bombing campaign called “Shock and Awe” run by Bush Jr. and based on a series of lies told by the administration at the time which were supported by the complicit media in 2002 and 2003 without question.

ISIS™ didn’t just show up in some strange coincidence at the perfect time to help Obama justify using U.S. military resources to crush The General Military Council for Iraqi Revolutionaries, a legitimate democratic revolution. Anyone who writes that is simply misleading our efforts.

“In meditation, go deep in the heart. In dealing with others, be gentle and kind. In speech, be true”  Tao Te Ching

To that end…

A reader sent me a link to Moon of Alabama’s blog, which is usually pretty good, but it seems they have decided to jump on the ‘bomb, bomb, bomb ISIL’ bandwagon as of late. It would appear in the world of alternative blogging, as it is in the MSM, self preservation has a direct inverse correlation to the cognitive functions of the average writer.

“To probably the surprise of many readers I had argued for airstrikes. But I was quite specific. Those airstrikes should have been against the heavy equipment the IS seized from the Iraqi and Syrian armies. It is that mountain of heavy equipment, not the running loons, that make IS dangerous to everyone in the Middle East.” Moon of Alabama

MoA doesn’t seem to be able to connect the dots, even when an ISIS™ spokesman issues a fatwa against citizens of the countries making up Obama’s new Coalition of the Willing and cites various already debunked Western propaganda as the justification for it. Imagine that: a CIA creation backing CIA disinformation for public consumption… and Moon of Alabama doesn’t get it? Curious. More on the heavy equipment issue later.

The IS has fallen for, or is just repeating, “western” propaganda. There is no difference between a “barrel bomb” and any “western” bombing device. The difference was only made up in the media to put a bad light on the Syrian government. The “chemical attacks” were also very likely false flag operations. But IS has eaten that up.” Moon of Alabama

Not only does MoA not make the connection between how the CIA created ISIS™ and how they are now regurgitating CIA and state department propaganda (the CIA is writing the script which means they still run ISIS™) BUT.. over at MoA it would appear they aren’t really sure whether or not last year’s chemical weapons attacks, Obama’s much needed “red line”, were false flag events or not. Notice that he doesn’t even call them ‘ISIS’ but rather he has adopted the Obama administration terminology for this group. Curious again.

Someone needs to spend a little more time researching and less time writing if that’s the case.

Millions of Iraqis Demand US Forces Leave their Country While Our Color Revolutionaries Stay Home

While our color revolution assets in Iraq pretend they are all about calling for a sovereign Iraq, they stayed at home because that is not at all what they want. They want regime change because the current government wants us out and is growing ever closer to Iran, China and Russia. Meanwhile Sadr calls for a million Iraqis to show up to demand we leave... and at least two million answer that call. Looks like The Donald is going to be the president to lose all those financial gains from the illegal and immoral Iraq invasion and occupation.

US threatens to cut off Iraq's access to oil account in New York if troops expelled: Paper

from Press TV

Iraqi officials say the administration of US President Donald Trump has threatened to shut off Iraq's access to a key central banking account if Baghdad expels American troops from the Arab country.
Washington would shut down Baghdad's access to its main account at the Federal Reserve Bank of New York, used to collect revenues from Iraq's overseas oil sales, The Wall Street Journal quoted the officials as saying.
According to the most recent financial statement from the Central Bank of Iraq, the bank held almost $3 billion in overnight deposits at the close of 2018.
The report came a day after Trump implicitly threatened to seize $35 billion of Iraqi money held in US banks if the country insists on having American forces withdrawn from Iraq.
Trump said he had told Iraqi Prime Minister Adel Abdul-Mahdi that Iraq "should pay back the United States for its investments in the country over the past several years or the American military will stay there," Fox News reported.
"I said, 'If we leave, you got to pay us,'" Trump told the news network in the White House. "If we leave ... you have to pay us for the money we put in."
Asked how he planned to collect money from Iraq, Trump said: "Well, we have a lot of their money right now. We have a lot of their money. We have $35 billion of their money right now sitting in an account.
"And I think they’ll agree to pay. I think they’ll agree to pay. Otherwise, we’ll stay there," he added...

Baghdad Embassy Standoff: 4,000 More Troops to be Sent to Region

As the original attack on the K-1 base near Kirkuk starts to look more and more suspect, Trump starts the process of sending an additional 4k troops to the region in order to combat Iran's influence on Iraq.
