Macron contradicts Trump on regime change in Iran

from RT

French President Emmanuel Macron has spoken out against attempting regime change in Iran, contradicting his US counterpart, Donald Trump, who has recently toughened his rhetoric regarding Tehran.

Trump made a thinly veiled threat against Iran’s Ayatollah Ali Khamenei on Tuesday, writing on Truth Social that “we know exactly where the so-called ‘Supreme Leader’ is hiding. He is an easy target, but is safe there – We are not going to take him out (kill!), at least not for now.”

The US president also demanded Tehran’s “unconditional surrender” in the conflict with Israel, which attacked Iran on Friday with the stated goal of preventing it from developing nuclear weapons. Iran has denied that it is seeking to do so, insisting that its nuclear program is purely peaceful.

Speaking on the same day, Macron stressed that he also does not want Iran to possess nuclear weapons, but warned that “the biggest error would be to use military strikes to change the regime because it would then be chaos.”...

Macron calls snap parliamentary election

from RT

French President Emmanuel Macron has dissolved the country’s National Assembly and called a snap general election, following the release of exit polls predicting a disastrous performance by his Renaissance party in the EU parliament election.

Macron’s allies look certain to be roundly trounced by the right-wing National Rally (RN) party, which is associated with Marine Le Pen.

According to early projections on Sunday, National Rally, currently led by Jordan Bardella, took around a third of the vote; Macron’s alliance has polled at around 15%.

Explaining his decision, the president said he could not act as if “nothing happened,” admitting that the projected election result did not bode well for his government. Macron also warned about the apparent rise of nationalist forces, calling it a danger both to France and the EU as a whole.

“This is a serious, difficult decision, but above all it is an act of trust,” Macron stated, adding that he trusts “the French people to make the best choice for themselves and for future generations.”...

Macron ‘panicked’ over leaked Ukraine reports – Marianne

from RT

French President Emmanuel Macron’s talk about maybe sending troops to aid Kiev may have been spurred by three assessments produced by the French military that painted a dire picture of the Ukraine conflict, according to the magazine Marianne.

The reports, which have somehow found their way into the weekly’s possession, argued that Ukraine wrecked its Western-trained force in the failed 2023 offensive, has run out of men to mobilize, and that its recent loss in Avdeevka shows it can’t even hold the line against Russia.

“Ukraine cannot win this war militarily,” concludes the first report, written in the fall of 2023, following Kiev’s disastrous ground offensive. It praises the Russian forces as the new “tactical and technical” standard of how to run defensive operations and debunks the media myth of “meat assaults.”

For the West to continue pursuing a military solution in Ukraine would be “the most serious error of analysis and judgment,” the classified document said, according to Marianne...

"Green New Deal" is a Neoliberal Nightmare and Must Be Exposed

As many have speculated about the global warming campaign, AOC's "Green New Deal" panel proposal appears to be geared toward setting up another TARP bailout or ObamaCare fraud written by business insiders and neoliberal technocrats. And according to even it's supporters, the proposal she has on her website seems to suggest a remake of our entire society from the ground up, written by Big Business, of Big Business and for Big Business.

'Yellow Vests' Movement Has Led to Major Rallies, Unacceptable Violence - Macron

from Sputnik International

More than 287,000 people have taken part in protests over the rise in fuel prices. The demonstrations have been harshly condemned by French President Emmanuel Macron.

The yellow vests movement has stirred major demonstrations and unacceptable violence, according to Macron.

The AFP reported, citing the French president, that he hears the protesters, but won't scrap fuel taxes.

"What I've taken from these last few days is that we shouldn't change course because it is the right one and necessary. But we need to change how we work because a number of our citizens feel this policy course is imposed on them from above," he said....
