Trmp Putin Summit Live Updates

by Scott Creighton

RT is posting live updates from the summit in Alaska between Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin. Seems the MIC hired some crisis actors or a rent a crowd to hang around outside the base waving Ukrainian flags as if folks in America want desperately to see the war continue as long as possible.

Of course these pro-war ass-hats forget what started all of this.

And they seem to forget who they stand with when they stand with Ukraine:

BRICS not about dividing the world – Lavrov

from RT

The BRICS group of countries does not aim to divide the world, but instead advocates for a new global order based on sovereign equality among nations, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov has said.

In an interview with journalist Marina Kim for the ‘New World’ project published on Thursday, Lavrov emphasized that “BRICS is about the world order founded on the main principle of the UN Charter – sovereign equality of states.”

This statement highlights BRICS’ distinct approach compared to Western-dominated institutions such as the G7, Lavrov said.

The diplomat was asked whether the recent BRICS summit in the Russian city of Kazan could be likened to historic events such as the Tehran or Yalta conferences. Lavrov responded that while past meetings were characterized by territorial divisions, BRICS aims to empower nations to live based on their own civilizational values, without external interference in trade practices or resource management.

“BRICS is not at all planning to divide the world. It is an association of countries that want to live on the lands given to them by God and their predecessors according to the traditions of their great civilizations, including China, India, Iran, Russia, and many other states,” Lavrov noted. They wish for no one to dictate how they should trade or prohibit them from processing natural resources, as is happening in Africa.”...

Russia condemns Israeli attacks on Lebanon

from RT

Israel’s actions in Lebanon only create a “spiral of violence” and risk plunging the entire Middle East into a new bloody conflict, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov told a UN Security Council meeting on Friday. Moscow “resolutely condemns” the Israeli attacks and seeks to de-escalate the situation, he added.

Lavrov’s words came as the Israel Defense Force launched a massive airstrike on the southern suburbs of the Lebanese capital of Beirut. West Jerusalem stated that its operation had targeted the main headquarters of Hezbollah – the Lebanon-based Shia militia – located beneath a civilian neighborhood. On Saturday, Israel also claimed that the group’s leader, Hassan Nasrallah, had been killed in the attack. Several media outlets had previously reported that he had survived.

Israel’s strikes “blatantly violate the sovereignty of… Lebanon,” Lavrov said in his remarks. “Indiscriminate attacks that lead to civilian casualties are absolutely unacceptable.” The Russian minister also called for an “immediately stop” to the “spiral of violence” before the situation gets out of hand. He also stated that Israel would not be able to achieve its stated goals with such attacks.

“The path of war chosen by the West Jerusalem will not help it bring internally displaced people to the north of the country and will not bring security to the Israeli-Lebanese border area,” he said, adding that Israel failed to achieve its goals in the 2006 Lebanon war despite using “cutting-edge equipment and weapons.”...

Russia will defend its Arctic from NATO – Lavrov

from RT

Russia will protect its Arctic interests against NATO's expansionist ambitions that extend far beyond Europe and the Atlantic, Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov has said.

In an interview for the documentary ‘The Soviet Breakthrough’ released on Thursday, Lavrov said that while all members of the Arctic Council claim that there is not a single problem in the region that would require a military presence there, in reality the situation is different.

In practice, NATO members are increasingly starting “to turn their eyes to the Arctic and declare that due to its geographical location the North Atlantic Alliance also has interests there,” the foreign minister said, adding that talk about NATO being a defensive bloc concerned only with its security is not sincere.

Lavrov stressed that the Arctic does not belong to NATO, and that after incorporating almost all of Europe, it now has its sights set on countries far beyond the region...

Xi Meets With Russia’s Foreign Minister, Reaffirming Ties

from the NYT

The visit came days after the U.S. threatened new sanctions against Chinese companies if they aided Russia’s war in Ukraine.

China’s top leader, Xi Jinping, and Russia’s foreign minister, Sergey V. Lavrov, met in Beijing on Tuesday, in a session seen as laying the groundwork for an expected visit to China by President Vladimir V. Putin of Russia and pushing back against mounting pressure from the United States and its allies.

Mr. Lavrov’s visit came just days after Treasury Secretary Janet L. Yellen warned of “significant consequences” if Chinese companies provided material support for Russia’s war in Ukraine. It also took place as President Biden was set to host the leaders of Japan and the Philippines on Wednesday to boost economic and security ties to counter China’s growing assertiveness in Asia.

Earlier in the day, Mr. Lavrov met with his Chinese counterpart, Wang Yi, and said the two sides had talked about deepening security ties to resist the West's “anti-Chinese” and “anti-Russian orientation.” In a sign of the Kremlin’s continued deference to China, Mr. Lavrov reaffirmed Russia’s rejection of any “outside interference” over Beijing’s claims to the de facto independent island of Taiwan...

Dozens of countries want to join BRICS – Lavrov

from RT

Dozens of countries want to join BRICS – Lavrov

Nearly 30 countries have expressed a desire to become part of the BRICS group, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said at a press conference in Moscow on Thursday.

Discussing the results of Russian diplomacy in 2023, Lavrov argued that one of the most significant steps toward strengthening the global position of BRICS was the decision to expand the group of emerging economies.

BRICS officially announced the addition of new member countries at its 2023 summit in August, marking its first expansion since South Africa joined in 2010. As well as the founding members of Brazil, Russia, India, and China, the association also now includes Egypt, Ethiopia, Iran, and the United Arab Emirates.

A range of other states have expressed their desire to become BRICS members, including Venezuela, Thailand, Senegal, Cuba, Kazakhstan, Belarus, Bahrain, and Pakistan – all of which have formally submitted applications to join.

Other countries such as Syria, Türkiye, Nicaragua, Indonesia, and Zimbabwe have also expressed interest in joining the group but have yet to file official accession applications...
