Serbia will overcome attempted color revolution: President

(This article is from Feb 15 2025. On Feb 18th it was reported that Rubio suspended 14 million in USAID funding to Serbia which was going to help the government of that country in various ways. Over 900 million has been funneled into that country from USAID since 2021 for various reasons.)

Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic declared on Saturday that the ongoing protests in Serbia were an attempted "color revolution" orchestrated by foreign influences but insisted that it had failed and that Serbia had prevailed.

Speaking at a Statehood Day event in the Serbian western town of Sremska Mitrovica, Vucic accused international organizations, such as USAID, of funding efforts to destabilize the country and vowed that Serbia would recover from the damage caused.

"And now I tell you, their color revolution has failed. Inform USAID, NED, and EED. Let them all know-it's over. Serbia has won, and you will never defeat Serbia," Vucic said.

He criticized the protests, which have included student demonstrations and road blockades, blaming them for economic setbacks and a lack of investment...

Competing rallies were held in Serbia on Saturday, February 15th, Statehood Day, which celebrates the Balkan country's 19th-century independence movement against the Ottoman Empire. Aleksandar Vucic, who 1st took office as president in 2017, defiantly stated that the color revolution, which Western foreign NGOs have orchestrated, has failed (see video at end of article)  He specifically accused the U.S. State Department's USAID (often used as a CIA front), CIA regime-change NGO National Endowment for "Democracy" & its EU counterpart of orchestrating the protests & manipulating young people.

Vucic has seen such protests against his government & other destabilization campaigns in the country ever since his election as president.  A constant theme has been the usual "corruption" accusation, hurled at all leaders who don't always bow obediently to Western business interests.  In Western MSM, he's portrayed as too "pro-Russian" (pro-Putin), but Serbia's always traditionally had close ties to Russia.

The Serbian leader has been attempting a balancing act between East & West, seemingly maintaining good relations with the USA & EU while refusing to impose sanctions on Russia over the West's proxy war in Ukraine.  The only flights now between the West & Russia are through the Serbian capital, Belgrade, & Istanbul, Turkey.  Moreover, over 100 thousand Russians & thousands more Ukrainians have been living in Serbia since the war began.  This anti-Putin element has often had a destabilizing effect, with obvious Western assets among them making matters worse.

Why shutting down USAID could have major impacts on Gaza aid

International aid organizations are warning that humanitarian efforts in Gaza would be severely impacted if the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) is shut down by Elon Musk's Department of Government Efficiency.

Musk said he was "in the process" of "shutting down" the agency -- which oversees foreign aid, disaster relief and international development programs -- and that President Donald Trump agreed with him.

Meanwhile, Secretary of State Marco Rubio told reporters on Monday that he had been appointed acting director of USAID, saying the agency is "not functioning" and that it needs to be aligned with U.S. national interests.

Alex Smith, a former contractor for USAID who advised on nutrition, child health and maternal health, told ABC News that the dismantling of the agency could have a major impact on aid in Gaza.

"It's going to be devastating," said Smith, who left the agency last year. "You know, countries are already trying to figure out how they're going to fill the gaps, but they just don't have the money, and finding new donors could take years."

Smith noted that the Trump administration said previous federal funding freezes wouldn't affect emergency food programs, but that the USAID also provides humanitarian assistance on other fronts.

"There's a lot more than food aid that USAID does. That's a kind of common misconception -- that all we do is just drop off big bucks and food," he said. "It's about fighting infectious disease, malaria, TB, HIV all over the world. You know, with the conditions in Gaza as they are, we've seen some polio. It's very likely that cholera is already there and it's going to get worse. So we used to have a lot of programs to try to combat those specific infectious diseases."...

As the bodies of labor union reps and dissidents are piling up on the stairwells of Odessa and the streets of eastern Ukraine, today it is reported that USAID needs another couple million to support pro-Western “media outlets” in the run-up to the sham election to be held in the troubled state.

Are you ready for another fake “Iranian Green Revolution“? Are you ready for another fake “Russian Election fraud” story? Well, you had better be, because another one is shaping up right now down in Venezuela and it promises to be the focus of our Peace Prize “winning” President just so long as his supporters are still focused on other things.

The trouble with neoliberalism, is that you just can’t seem to get people to vote for it, except in the case of Barack Obama and in that case, people really didn’t (aren’t) voting FOR neoliberalism as much as he just lies through his teeth and has better (and more expensive) marketing people than NIKE and COORS.

The mainstream media is pushing the meme that Hugo Chavez faces “the closest election ever” in order to prep the public mind for the next step in their global war on democracy and people who “vote the wrong way” like the people did in Chile and in Palestine and in Iran and Russia not to long ago.

The problem is, that’s not altogether true. Fact is, it may be “the closest yet” but that still means that Chavez is expected to win by a landslide. His reforms in the country have improved the lives of millions of working class Venezuelans and the only people who wish to change course are the 1% oligarchs and their sycophantic petty bourgeoisie wanna-bes.

President Obama has announced his big initiative to save the starving people of Africa by “unleashing the powers of the market” all across their continent. 

It’s called the New Alliance for Food and Nutrition Security. Obama has made this announcement at a G8 summit meeting at Camp David (created back in the 1930′s under the Works Progress Administration part of the New Deal) hosted by none other than the Chicago Council on Foreign Affairs. You may remember them. They changed their name back in 2008 when it was inconvenient for the wife of the next president to be affiliated with the Chicago Council on Foreign Relations.

But African civil society wants no part of this latest Monsanto aligned “public private partnership”. Whatever will the progressives do now that their flawless hero has teamed up with their most hated nemesis to exploit an entire continent like they did to India not that long ago?

I noticed the other day that the NGO behind the Kony 2012 campaign, Invisible Children, doesn’t publish in their financial statements where their funding has been coming from. Just check out their “financials” page and pull up their 2011 statement and you will quickly see they don’t include that information.

They recently had a huge increase in funding from somewhere (according to their numbers they increased their operating budget from 2010 to 2011 by a multiplier of 6 (roughly a million per year to 6 million)

Since Invisible Children seems to support putting boots on the ground in Africa and therefore AFRICOM (U.S. military control over the continent) I decided to look at AFRICOM’s website for a little more information. This is what I found in a PDF (U.S. Military Support to African Efforts to Counter the Lord’s Resistance Army) on the front page of their website:

It is widely recognized that there is no purely military solution to the efforts of African security and administrative officials from throughout the region to protect the civilian population from the threat posed by Joseph Kony and the LRA. The U.S. military role is in support of a combined effort that involves the U.S. embassies in the affected countries, U.S. Agency for International Development’s programs, as well as contributions from nongovernmental organizations.

Looks like their financial boondoggle happened to neatly dovetail into the same year that AFRICOM was given the green light to expand their reach into other nations in Africa. AFRICOM mentions that they are getting help from USAID “programs” to this end and as we all know, USAID is just a front organization for the CIA.

Secretary of State Marco Rubio said on Monday that he had taken over as acting administrator of the U.S. Agency for International Development, assuming control of an agency that had functioned largely independently for over 60 years and stoking fears about U.S. assistance around the world.

Mr. Rubio’s announcement came after a week of drastic changes at U.S.A.I.D., the government’s lead agency for humanitarian aid and development assistance. Senior officials have been suspended, and hundreds of civil servants and contractors have been iced out of U.S.A.I.D. systems without warning.

Many of the cuts were rolled out in secret and without warning, as representatives of Elon Musk, who was deputized by President Trump to lead a task force to reduce government spending, took over its operations despite objections from aid workers and Democrats in Congress.

Speaking to reporters in El Salvador, Mr. Rubio said that many of U.S.A.I.D.’s programs were worthwhile and would continue under the umbrella of the State Department, promising to delegate the day-to-day operations to Pete Marocco, the department’s director of foreign assistance.

In a letter to the top Republicans and Democrats on the House and Senate committees on foreign affairs and related appropriations, Mr. Rubio said that Mr. Marocco would “begin the review and potential reorganization of U.S.A.I.D.’s activities to maximize efficiency and align operations with the national interest.”

Mr. Rubio added that the review might include “the suspension or elimination” of programs, projects, missions, bureaus, centers and offices, and that the U.S.A.I.D. “may be abolished consistent with applicable law.”...

Even though they failed to create a legitimate looking color-type “revolution” in Syria, the war-mongers of the NATO left are not giving up on the program model. They are still claiming victory in places like Libya even though most rational people who are paying attention understand that the once beautiful and independent sovereign state is descending into horrific chaos. Chaos is success for these people because in the chaos, there is opportunity and they’re taking full advantage of it.

In Syria they were reduced to having to pull off another Operation Northwoods type Gulf of Tonkin incident in order to continue with their aggressive assault on the current regime. Their efforts to fabricate a pretext to justify a “humanitarian intervention” failed. They were exposed relentlessly for financing and running the terror campaigns inside the country while Russia and China (and now others) simply refused to allow them the wiggle room they needed at the UN. Now they have convinced Turkey to sacrifice a fighter or two to their grander effort much like President Johnson tried to offer up the USS Liberty back in 1967. 

Remains to be seen how that latest trick turns out.

US used Telegram to topple governments, former official tells Tucker Carlson

The US and its CIA-controlled “soft power” arm have used the encrypted social media app Telegram to foment riots and protest movements against foreign governments it deems undesirable, former Trump administration official and free speech activist Mike Benz has said.

The comments were made during an interview with American journalist Tucker Carlson on Wednesday. Benz, a State Department official under the administration of former President Donald Trump, now runs the free speech watchdog Foundation for Freedom Online.

Carlson asked Benz about a potential US role in the arrest of Telegram co-founder and CEO Pavel Durov in France last week. A court in Paris charged Durov on Wednesday with complicity in several crimes perpetrated through his app, as well as failing to cooperate with the French authorities.

While the former diplomat did not speculate, he noted that Durov’s arrest aligns with the pattern of “soft power” tactics the US has pursued in the past.

The US has championed free speech globally for decades, “in large part” because it allows the country to build resistance and political or paramilitary movements “in countries where the US State Department seeks political control,” the former official said. Durov’s end-to-end encrypted social media app Telegram has been instrumental in this effort, Benz claimed.

The reason “26 US-government-funded NGOs” condemned Russia for attempting to ban Telegram in 2018 was that “the US State Department was using Telegram,” utilizing its encryption and local popularity “to foment protests and riots within Russia – just as they did in Belarus, Iran, Hong Kong, and attempted to do in China,” the former State Department official said.

The app’s encryption is a powerful means of evading state control over media and allowing “US-funded political groups or dissidents to garner tens of thousands of supporters with relative impunity,” he added...

USAID’s Disinformation Primer: Global Censorship in the Name of Democracy

A report from the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) outlines how the government agency has been encouraging governments, tech platforms, establishment media outlets and advertisers to work together to censor huge swaths of the Internet. The 97-page “disinformation primer,” obtained by conservative firm America First Legal under the Freedom of Information Act, purports to be fighting fake news. However, much of the organization’s focus appears to be on preventing individuals from finding information online that challenges official narratives and leads to increased questioning of the system more generally.

The document calls for regulating video games and online message boards, steering individuals away from alternative media and back towards more elite-friendly sites, and for governments to work with advertisers to cripple organizations that refuse to toe official lines financially. Furthermore, it highlights government-backed fact-checking groups like Bellingcat, Graphika, and the Atlantic Council as leaders in the fight against disinformation, despite the fact that those groups have close connections to the national security state, which is an overwhelming conflict of interest.

The news that a government agency is promoting such a program is worrying enough. However, we shall also see how USAID itself has promoted fake news to push for regime change abroad.

USAID’s primer identifies three kinds of information that it wishes to combat. In addition to misinformation (false information spread by those who believe it to be true) and disinformation (false information proliferated with intent to deceive), it states that “malinformation” is also a serious threat. Malinformation is speech that is factually correct but has been deemed misleading or taken out of context. Under this broad definition, any reporting or arguments, no matter their accuracy, could potentially be throttled online if it is deemed unhelpful or inconvenient to USAID and its interests...
