Israel bombs homes in Jenin as Palestine urges intl. action against West Bank aggression

Israel has conducted a fresh drone attack on the Jenin refugee camp, as the Palestinian foreign ministry urges the international community to take a serious action to stop the regime’s intensified aggression on the occupied West Bank.

In the early hours of Friday, media reports said an Israeli drone targeted homes in the Jenin camp in the northern part of the West Bank.

Since a ceasefire in Gaza was announced last month, Israel has intensified its attacks in Jenin and other parts of the occupied West Bank.

At least 25 Palestinians have been killed in Israel’s raids in Jenin this year, which have also displaced nearly 20,000, according to the camp’s media committee.

The Israeli army also continues to destroy homes and infrastructure in the West Bank city of Tulkarm and its two camps...

Israeli army continues deadly raid in Jenin, two more killed in West Bank

Israel’s deadly raid in Jenin has entered its third day, with its forces issuing a forced evacuation threat to residents of the refugee camp in the city.

Hundreds of Palestinians in Jenin refugee camp started leaving their homes on Thursday.

“The Israeli army, using loudspeakers on drones and military vehicles, ordered them to evacuate the camp,” where Israel’s military launched an intense military operation this week, Jenin governor Kamal Abu al-Rub told AFP news agency.

Elsewhere, two Palestinian men were killed overnight in attacks by Israeli forces in Burqin, taking the death toll to 12 across Jenin governorate in the first two days of large-scale raids.

The raids are part of Israel’s “Iron Wall” campaign across the occupied Palestinian territory, launched just days after a ceasefire in Gaza...

Operation ‘Iron Wall’: How Israeli Forces and PA Collaborate against Jenin Resistance

On Tuesday, Israel launched a major invasion of Jenin and declared Operation Iron Wall, designed to crush the anti-occupation armed groups in the northern West Bank. However, it is not acting alone and is conducting this major assault with the full complicity of the Palestinian Authority security forces as their proxy. 

Days prior to the announcement that a Gaza-Israel ceasefire had been reached, on January 14, Israel launched three drone strikes in the Jenin Camp, killing six and injuring around a dozen others. This came on the same day that the Palestinian Authority (PA) and Jenin Brigades resistance group reached an agreement to end the 40-day-long PA siege on the refugee camp.

Despite the deal between the two sides, the PA refused to honor its side of the bargain and continued to besiege Jenin Camp and arrest anti-occupation fighters. 

On January 21, only two days after the implementation of the Gaza ceasefire, the occupation forces announced the beginning of a major operation in the northern West Bank. On Wednesday, Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz named the operation “Iron Wall” and vowed to implement the lessons learned “from the method of repeated raids in Gaza”...
