Sheikh Qassem says Hezbollah will not give up its weapons until Israel’s occupation ends

from PressTV

The secretary general of Lebanon's Hezbollah, Sheikh Naim Qassem, has stressed that the resistance movement will not lay down its weapons until the Israeli occupation ends, warning that the Beirut government’s decision on disarmament could create civil strife.

He made the remarks in a speech on Friday on the occasion of Arba’een, the 40th day after the martyrdom anniversary of Imam Hussein (AS), the third Shia Imam and the grandson of Prophet Mohammad (PBUH), who was killed in the Battle of Karbala in southern Iraq in 680 AD while resisting the much larger army of the despot Umayyad ruler of the time, Yazid...

Lebanese Army uses tear gas against peaceful protesters

from al Mayadeen English

The Deputy Head of Hezbollah’s Political Council, Mahmoud Qomati, reaffirmed on Saturday the party’s rejection of any US dominance over Lebanon, stressing that “patience has its limits.”

In a speech delivered at a protest site near Beirut Airport Road, which was called for by Hezbollah against foreign interference in the country's affairs, Qomati stated that “the Lebanese state remains under US diktats, and we do not accept that this nation be under American and Israeli control.”

He added that “the ban on Iranian planes landing at Beirut Airport is an insult to the Lebanese state and confirms the imposition of US conditions on it.” He further emphasized that “Iran is a friendly state” and that Hezbollah “will not accept foreign diktats.”

Lebanese protesters blocked the road to Beirut-Rafic Hariri International Airport on Thursday evening in response to the refusal to allow an Iranian plane to land, leaving its Lebanese passengers stranded in Tehran.

Calls to protest and block the airport road spread across social media, condemning the decision.

Addressing Lebanese politicians, Qomati said: “If you choose to submit, the resistance’s people reject the American and Israeli humiliation policy and will not accept it.”...

We're Reshaping the Middle East Says Genocidal Netanyahu

("We are reshaping the face of the Middle East' Netanyahu 2024)

('These are the birth-pangs of a New Middle East' Condi Rice 2006)

from Shafaq News

Following the ceasefire agreement, on Tuesday, the Israeli Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, declared that Israel will not end the war before victory, warning that the Syrian president is playing with fire.

In a speech, Netanyahu stated, " The ceasefire consensus is driven by three key factors, [First factor] focusing on Iran, details of which I won’t elaborate, [Second] rearming and maintaining advanced weaponry, as well as preserving our soldiers, [third] separating the fronts, as Hamas relied on Hezbollah."

He affirmed that he is committed to the security and the rehabilitation of the north, noting significant achievements across seven fronts in this war, which will not end until victory is achieved.

"Hezbollah is no longer the same organization it was months ago; we have pushed it years back, striking its leadership and military capabilities, both in Beirut's southern suburbs and in southern Lebanon," Netanyahu continued.

Regarding the details of the ceasefire, Netanyahu said that Israel will respond forcefully to any attempt by Hezbollah to rearm, adding, “The agreement means we will now focus on the Iranian threat. We remain committed to completing the destruction of Hamas' capabilities, eradicating Hamas in the West Bank, and countering drone threats in Syria. Assad is playing with fire.”

Israeli PM announced that Israel struck Iraq and Iran, attacking its defensive capabilities and destroying significant parts of its nuclear program. “I am prepared to do whatever is necessary to prevent Iran from obtaining a nuclear weapon," he proceeded.

He concluded, "We are reshaping the face of the Middle East."

Bibi says the war in Lebanon to steal their land is not over, they are just getting rearmed and making ready for 'the big fight'

and from The Guardian:

It’s now 4pm UK time and 6pm in Beirut. Here’s a summary of the day’s key developments.

  • Israel army announces night-time curfew in south Lebanon. The Israeli military announced a night-time curfew in south Lebanon on Thursday, a day after a ceasefire with Hezbollah began, reports Agence France-Presse (AFP). “It is strictly forbidden to move or travel south of the Litani River starting from 5:00 pm (1500 GMT) until 7:00 am tomorrow (Friday). Those south of the Litani River must remain where they are,” military spokesperson, Avichay Adraee, said in a post on X.

  • Israeli military says air force struck Hezbollah facility in southern Lebanon. The Israeli military said on Thursday that the air force struck a facility used by Hezbollah to store mid-range rockets in southern Lebanon, the first such attack since a ceasefire took effect on Wednesday morning.

  • At least 21 Palestinians killed by Israeli strikes on Thursday, say medics. Israeli military strikes killed at least 21 Palestinians across the Gaza Strip on Thursday, medics said, as forces stepped up their bombardment of central areas and tanks pushed deeper into the north and south of the territory. Reuters reports that the escalation came a day after Israel and Hezbollah began a ceasefire in Lebanon, halting more than a year of hostilities and raising hopes among many Palestinians in Gaza for a similar deal with Hamas.

  • Israeli foreign minister says ‘no justification’ for ICC to take steps against Israeli leaders. Israeli foreign minister, Gideon Saar, said on Thursday that the ICC had “no justification” for issuing arrests warrants for Israeli leaders, in a joint press conference with Czech foreign minister, Jan Lipavsky. Saar told Reuters Israel has appealed against the decision and that it sets a dangerous precedent.

  • Hezbollah MP says Israeli attacks on civilians violated ceasefire deal. Hezbollah member of parliament, Hassan Fadlallah, said on Thursday that Israel had violated a ceasefire deal by firing on civilians returning home to their villages along Lebanon’s southern border with Israel, reports Reuters. “The Israeli enemy is attacking those returning to the border villages,” Fadlallah told reporters after a parliament session, adding, “there are violations today by Israel, even in this form”.

  • Israeli tanks fire on southern Lebanon as officials says ceasefire with Hezbollah violated. Israeli tank fire hit six areas in southern Lebanon on Thursday and the Israeli military said its ceasefire with Hezbollah was breached after what it called suspects, some in vehicles, arrived at several areas in the southern zone, reports Reuters. A ceasefire between Israel and Lebanese armed group Hezbollah took effect on Wednesday under a deal brokered by the US and France, intended to allow people in both countries to start returning to homes in border areas.

Israeli drone strike injures three in southern Lebanon amid fragile ceasefire

from PressTV

At least three people have been reportedly injured in an Israeli drone strike in southern Lebanon less than a day after a truce deal took effect between the regime and the Lebanese resistance movement Hezbollah.

The attack took place near a vehicle in the village of Markaba in southern Lebanon on Thursday, Israeli Army Radio reported without giving more details.

Israel was forced to accept a ceasefire with Hezbollah after suffering heavy losses following more than 14 months of fighting and failing to achieve its goals in its aggression on Lebanon. The truce agreement officially came into effect at 04:00 local time (0200 GMT) on Wednesday.

Hezbollah opened a support front for Palestinians in Gaza only a day after the Israeli regime unleashed its genocidal war against the besieged territory in October 2023, launching numerous retaliatory attacks against Israeli targets in the occupied territories.

Following the truce announcement, the resistance movement warned it was fully ready to counter further potential Israeli aggression against Lebanon, while stressing the recent ceasefire deal was driven by its thousands-strong triumphant operations...

from PressTV

The Lebanese resistance movement Hezbollah keeps employing its “Fire for Fire, Beirut for Tel Aviv” defensive strategy in the face of the Israeli regime’s intensified deadly aggression against Lebanon.

On Monday, the movement targeted Tel Aviv in the occupied Palestinian territories with several strikes, indicating that it would not buckle under the regime’s policy of escalating its deadly attacks on civilians in Lebanon to pressure the resistance into accepting its terms, various resistance media outlets reported.

It brought the city under salvos of ballistic missiles, at least eight rockets, and drones, wounding at least five settlers, one of whom sustained serious injuries...

The relentless bombardment resulted in the deaths of numerous civilians and caused extensive damage to densely populated residential neighborhoods.

The attacks come amid growing accusations that Tel Aviv is pursuing a broader agenda to extend the conflict beyond Gaza, potentially engulfing the entire Middle East in a wider regional war.

As tensions flare on multiple fronts, fears are mounting that the conflict could spiral into a full-scale regional crisis, with devastating consequences for the already volatile Middle Eastern landscape.

Israel's operations, which show no sign of abating, have drawn sharp criticism from regional and international actors, who warn of the catastrophic humanitarian toll on civilians caught in the crossfire...

New Hezbollah chief open to truce with Israel on 'suitable' terms

(His 'suitable terms' translate to 'Israel stopping the aggression in Gaza and the West Bank'  And as you can see, the Israelis reply by suggesting they will simply kill him as well and keep killing Hezbollah leaders until they find a complicit one.)

from Daily Sabah

...

(The newly elected leader of Hezbollah, Naim) Kassem said Hezbollah is carrying out plans laid out by its slain former chief in the ongoing war.

There was no immediate Israeli response to the speech, though several Israeli leaders have hinted that Kassem is Israel's next high-level assassination target.

On Tuesday, Defense Minister Yoav Gallant tweeted a picture of Kassem with the words "Temporary appointment. Not for long." Foreign Minister Israel Katz said Israel would "ensure” that Kassem follows in Nasrallah's footsteps.

As Kassem was speaking, a series of Israeli airstrikes pounded the eastern city of Baalbek.

The Lebanese Health Ministry said the airstrikes killed at least 19 people...
