83% of those killed in Gaza civilians: Classified Israeli military data

from Daily Sabah

Five out of six Palestinians killed by Israeli forces in Gaza – about 83% – are civilians, according to new classified data by the Israeli military.

Figures from a classified Israeli army database listed some 8,900 named fighters as dead or probably dead as of May this year, with the overall death toll since October 2023 reaching 53,000 at that time, a joint investigation by the Guardian, Israeli-Palestinian publication +972 Magazine, and the Hebrew-language outlet Local Call has found.

The data showed fighters named in the Israeli military intelligence database accounted for just 17% of the total, which indicates that 83% of the dead were civilians.

The investigation indicated that the apparent ratio of civilians to combatants among the dead is "extremely high for modern warfare," even compared with conflicts notorious for indiscriminate killing, including the Syrian and Sudanese civil wars.

"That proportion of civilians among those killed would be unusually high, particularly as it has been going on for such a long time,” said Therese Pettersson from the Uppsala Conflict Data Program (UCDP), which tracks civilian casualties worldwide.

"If you single out a particular city or battle in another conflict, you could find similar rates, but very rarely overall," she said...

Israeli strikes kill 123 Gazans in 24 hours as cease-fire talks stall

from Daily Sabah

Israeli forces unleashed heavy strikes on Gaza City on Wednesday ahead of a planned takeover, killing 123 people in the past 24 hours, according to the Gaza Health Ministry, as Hamas held new talks with Egyptian mediators.

It was the enclave’s deadliest day in a week, adding to the staggering toll from a nearly two-year war that has devastated the territory’s 2.3 million residents.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu again promoted a proposal – also championed by U.S. President Donald Trump – that Palestinians should be allowed to leave Gaza. “They’re not being pushed out; they’ll be allowed to exit,” Netanyahu told Israel’s i24NEWS. “Those who claim to care about the Palestinians should open their gates and stop lecturing us.”

The idea has drawn condemnation from Arab states and many global leaders, who say it amounts to mass displacement.

Palestinians warn it would mirror the 1948 Nakba – the “catastrophe” in which hundreds of thousands were forced from their homes during the Arab-Israeli war...

Some Oct 7 Truth and Other News

Another fake TrumpyBear check scheme in the works? Is Israel blackmailing Trump with CP videos? What really happened on Oct 7th after Israel forced the Nova music festival into the kill zone? Lots to discuss.

As Israel and US Congress Steal Palestine, Here is Some Oct 7 Truth for You

by Scott Creighton

'Universo Paralello (known as the Nova Music festival) was not origintally intended to take place at the Re’im site, with organizers moving it to this location only two days before it started, when another site in southern Israel fell through. The new site at Re’im featured a pair of stages, with the Israeli producer Artifex playing the mainstage when the attack started. Gaster was told that the attackers closed the road into the festival from both sides so attendees could not escape...

Gaster says it took IDF and special forces a few hours to arrive on site, with those who were there attempting to defend themselves in the meantime.' Billboard Oct 8 2023

That's right folks, as the Watchtower Girls were reporting concerning behavior at the separation line, military training and the like, the Glorious Israelis forced the Nova Music festival to relocate it's event to an area that was certainly going to be in the middle of the attack, then they gave the border patrol team that morning an order to stand down so they wouldn't see it coming.

Israel saw it coming a year before the attack and did nothing

Then it took hours for the military to respond in spite of the fact that at least one IDF base was less than a mile away.

Then they gave the Hannibal Directive order

And now Netanyahu and Mike Johnson are stealing the West Bank and Bibi is ordering the IDF to take the whole of Gaza.

‘Strange Order’: Evidence grows that Israel let Oct 7 happen to justify Gaza invasion

from PressTV

A Golani Brigade soldier has revealed that Israeli troops near Gaza were ordered to stand down from routine patrols on October 7, fueling suspicions that the Israeli leadership may have had foreknowledge of the Hamas operation.

Israeli soldier Shalom Sheetrit, who was stationed at the Pega military outpost near Kibbutz Be'eri, testified about unusual orders he received on the morning of the 7 October Hamas operation. He said he and his fellow troops were instructed not to conduct their daily border patrol along the Gaza fence.

“We were playing on the phone [at 5:20 am] and suddenly a strange message comes from my battalion commander,” Sheetrit said, the Cradle reported, citing Israeli media outlets. “And what he says on the call is something like this: ‘I don't know why, but an order was issued that there are no patrols at the fence until nine in the morning.’”

The Hamas operation, dubbed Al-Aqsa Storm, targeted multiple Israeli military posts, including the Pega outpost, where 14 soldiers were killed.

When asked if the order contributed to the vulnerability of soldiers, many of whom were reportedly still asleep, Sheetrit said he could not confirm, adding, “I don't want to just say that.”

He admitted that their unit failed to defend Kibbutz Be'eri, where over 100 Israelis died in what became one of the deadliest battles.

Following the operation, Israeli forces launched heavy airstrikes, including attacks by Apache helicopters and drones. These strikes, reportedly in line with the Hannibal Directive, aimed to prevent Hamas from abducting hostages but led to the deaths of both Israeli settlers and militants...

Israel air force threatens to fire 970 reservists for criticising Gaza war

from Daily Sun

The Israeli Air Force has warned 970 reservist fighter jet pilots they would lose jobs unless they withdraw a joint letter calling for an end to the Gaza invasion, Israeli media reported Wednesday.

Despite the warning only 25 reservists have rescinded their signatures from the letter, while 8 new reservists have signed up to protest the war, which they claim only serves the Israeli government’s political interests and not the Israeli people’s security needs.

The letter however, did not explicitly call for reservists to refuse serving in the air force altogether, according to Israeli reports.

Israeli far-right Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has been accused of seeking to fulfill only his personal and political interests by continuing the killing of more than 61,700 Palestinians over a year of war on Gaza...

Israel threatens to fire 970 pilots over Gaza war dissent

from Daily Sabah

Israeli Air Force commanders on Wednesday warned that approximately 970 personnel, including pilots, officers and soldiers, could be expelled if they do not withdraw their signatures from a letter demanding an end to the war in Gaza, local media reported.

Israeli daily Haaretz reported that "about 970 aircrew members, some in active reserve service, signed the letter opposing the war but not calling for refusal to serve.”

In recent days, senior air force leaders made personal phone calls to reservists who endorsed the message, urging them to retract their support, the outlet said. Commanders informed the reservists they face dismissal if they refuse to comply, according to Haaretz.

Following the threat, only 25 signatories withdrew their names, while eight others requested to add their signatures.

The letter’s signatories, including senior air force officers and pilots, argue that "the fighting in Gaza serves political interests, not security ones.”

Members of the Israeli opposition have long argued that the war on Gaza is meant to allow Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to stay in office and has nothing to do with Israel’s security.

Qatargate: New crisis in Israel that could trigger civil war

from Daily Sabah

The name of Benjamin Netanyahu, Israel's genocidal and child-murdering prime minister, has been associated with a new crisis in recent days. Netanyahu, who is being prosecuted for corruption and for whom the International Criminal Court (ICC) has issued an arrest warrant for war crimes and crimes against humanity committed in Gaza, is now facing a serious accusation of treason for not taking the necessary measures despite knowing in advance about the Oct. 7 attack.

In fact, Netanyahu's role in the events of Oct. 7 has been debated in Israeli public opinion before. It was argued at the time that the fact that Hamas killed all 1,200 people who allegedly died on Oct. 7 was inconsistent with the available evidence, and that none of the weapons in Hamas' possession were effective enough to have such an impact. The Hareetz newspaper even went a step further and revealed from the testimonies of soldiers on duty that day and eyewitnesses in the area that the order for Hanibal Directive was given and that the Israeli army, which was dispatched to the area, killed its own soldiers and citizens in order to prevent them from falling into the hands of Hamas. In other words, Netanyahu is not only responsible for the massacre of tens of thousands of Palestinians, but also for the killing of his own soldiers.

However, the latest incident is of a different nature than the previous allegations. Based on the investigation conducted by Shin Bet, Israel's domestic intelligence agency, and dubbed "Qatargate," there are serious allegations that Netanyahu and his office were aware of the attacks on Oct. 7 but did not report it to the security services, that the money sent by Qatar to Hamas to pay the salaries of civil servants in Gaza was transmitted through Netanyahu's advisers, and that some of this money was embezzled.

The revelation of the Shin Bet's investigation into Netanyahu and his advisers is a scandal. On Oct. 7, after the chief of the military intelligence organization Aman and the chief of staff resigned due to their failures, Netanyahu demanded the resignation of Ronen Bar, the chief of the Shin Bet. However, Bar refrained from resigning, saying that they had been conducting an investigation against Netanyahu for a long time and that it would not be appropriate for him to resign at this stage...

Israel and Hamas Finish 6th Exchange of Hostages for Prisoners

Smotrich is moving the goal posts.

“The process of emigration from Gaza will begin in the coming weeks,”

from the New York Times

Hamas freed three Israeli hostages from captivity in Gaza on Saturday, including an American Israeli dual citizen, prolonging a fragile cease-fire with Israel that appeared to be teetering earlier this week.

Israel said it had released 369 Palestinian prisoners in exchange, concluding the sixth such swap under the cease-fire deal.

The Palestinian captors forced the Israelis to mount a stage in the southern Gaza city of Khan Younis and give speeches in Hebrew against a backdrop of portraits of Hamas leaders. The Israelis were thinner and paler than when they were abducted, but they appeared to be in better condition than the emaciated captives released by Hamas last week...

Israel allows more aid into Gaza as 369 Palestinians set to be released

from Middle East Eye

More aid has finally entered Gaza following a tense showdown between Israel and Hamas that threatened the ceasefire deal concluded in January.

Ever since the inauguration of Donald Trump as US president and his declared plan to "clean out" two million Palestinians from Gaza and "own it", alongside accusations by Hamas that Israel has failed to stick to the terms of the agreement, the ceasefire has been under threat.

After Hamas called on Israel to keep to the terms of the deal if it wanted the next tranche of captives released on Saturday as planned, Trump threatened that “all hell will break loose” unless all the living captives were released instead.

Israel then warned of a "new Gaza war of another intensity altogether" that would "allow the realisation of Trump's vision for Gaza".

However, intensified efforts by Egypt and Qatar succeeded in "overcoming the obstacles" hindering the agreement, AFP reported, citing Egyptian state media...

Israel Locks Down Official Oct 7th Story Under Threat of Imprisonment

by Scott Creighton

Would I get 5 years for this meme in Israel? It's accurate

Don't you dare question what really happened on Oct. 7th 2023 if you live in Israel. 'The only democracy in the Middle East' will put you in prison if you even think about questioning the official state-made lies they have been peddling.

The Knesset passed a new law criminalising the denial, minimisation, or celebration of Palestinian resistance’s infiltration of Israel on 7 October 2023.

The legislation, proposed by Yisrael Beiteinu MK, Oded Forer, was approved in its final reading yesterday by a vote of 16-0, reported the Times of Israel.

Modeled on Israel’s 1986 Holocaust denial law, it states that any individual who verbally or in writing denies the events on 7 October, intending to defend or show sympathy for Hamas or its affiliates, could face up to five years in prison.

“The State of Israel today said in a loud and clear voice: The denial of the atrocities of October 7 will not pass in silence, neither in the Knesset, nor on the street, nor in the world,” Forer said after the vote. “Anyone who tries to deny Hamas’s heinous crimes is an active partner in spreading lies and incitement that undermine the foundations of our society.”

He added: “In an era where lies are spread at the speed of light on social media and in the international arena, this law is a bulwark. Not only for the memory of the murdered and the honour of the survivors, but for the sake of future generations who will remember the truth, and not the lies that try to obscure it.” Middle East Monitor Jan 22 2025

Babies in ovens. Babies on the clothesline. 40 beheaded babies. Systemic rape. All lies. All bullshit. All done to help justify the ethnic cleansing they had in mind for the Gaza 2035 plan.

Yes. Foundations of society are sometimes laid in filth, in mud, in lies. And to question these lies means to threaten the Greater Israel ambitions of the messianic Zionists who are currently in charge in Israel (and apparently in the White House)

These lies must be set in stone under threat of state violence so that the young people are never exposed to the truth that threatens to shake their love of Israel and hatred of Arabs.

This is what that statement means. This is what that law means.

46,006 and counting: Israel kills father, 3 sons in latest atrocities

from Daily Sabah

The death toll in Israel's genocidal Gaza war crossed 46,006 on Thursday after at least 70 more Palestinians were killed in relentless Israeli attacks, the enclave's Health Ministry said.

A ministry statement added that some 109,378 others were injured in the ongoing assault.

"Israeli forces killed 70 people and injured 104 others in three massacres of families in the last 24 hours,” the ministry said.

"Many people are still trapped under the rubble and on the roads as rescuers are unable to reach them,” it added.

Earlier Thursday, at least 13 Palestinians were killed in fresh Israeli airstrikes, medics said.

A medical source said eight people lost their lives when Israeli warplanes hit a home in the Jabalia Nazla area in the northern Gaza Strip.

A father and his three sons were also killed in another strike targeting a home in the Nuseirat refugee camp in central Gaza, another source added...

Patterns of harm analysis: Gaza, October 2023

from Airwars (H/T Owen Jones)

Introduction

On October 7, 2023, Palestinian militants breached the Israel-Gaza border fence into Israel, killing at least 1,200 people and taking a further 251 into Gaza. Israel subsequently launched one of the most intense military campaigns of the 21st century. As of November 2024, more than 43,000 Palestinians have been killed, according to official statistics from the Palestinian Ministry of Health (MoH) in Gaza.

The international community has raised grave concern about Israeli military practice and the unprecedented scale of civilian harm. The United Nations has repeatedly warned that Israel is breaching international law and even United States (US) President Joe Biden, a staunch ally of Israel, eventually labelled the military response “over the top.” In January 2024, South Africa brought a claim of genocide against Israel at the International Court of Justice (ICJ).

Israeli officials argue that the military does everything possible to avoid harming civilians, and say that Hamas’ tactic of embedding itself in the civilian population makes civilian harm an inevitable byproduct of seeking to destroy Hamas’ military infrastructure. Israel also claims that the level of civilian harm in Gaza is broadly consistent with, and even favourable to, other comparable conflicts in recent decades, including the US-led bombing campaign against the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria.

Gaza death toll tops 43,000 as Israel blasts civilian homes in north

from Daily Sabah

Israel killed at least five Palestinians early Monday in a series of airstrikes across the war-torn Gaza Strip, taking the total death toll over 43,000, according to local media.

The official Palestinian news agency WAFA said an Israeli drone struck a group of people in northern Gaza's Beit Lahia area, leaving one dead and several others injured.

It also said another drone struck a group of people in eastern Gaza City's Shujaiya neighborhood, resulting in the death of three people and the injury of three others.

WAFA added that the Israeli army's artillery struck the vicinity of a clinic in the Zeitoun neighborhood, but no casualties have been reported.

In the central Gaza Strip, at least one Palestinian was killed and others injured Monday dawn as the Israeli army struck a home in the Nuseirat refugee camp.

A child was injured by bullets from an Israeli drone in the eastern Al-Maghazi refugee camp.

In the southernmost of the Gaza Strip, the Israeli army continued to strike and shell areas in Rafah and blew up more buildings in the northwestern areas of the city as it pressed ahead with a deadly offensive there...

‘The Platoons Are Empty’: Israeli Army Battles Low Morale, Soldier Defections

from Mint Press News

The Israeli Hebrew media outlet Ha-Makom has reported that Israeli soldiers are experiencing a significant lack of motivation, with some refusing to report for service. Many within the ranks reportedly see the ongoing war in Gaza as futile, while the army attempts to keep this crisis under wraps.

The October 23 report revealed a crisis within the army, as soldiers increasingly refuse to return to combat after engagements in the Gaza Strip. The piece, based on interviews with over 20 soldiers and their parents, highlighted concerns over incomplete missions, unclear objectives, and the heavy toll on the battlefield, with many questioning the purpose and outcomes of their efforts.

“The platoons are empty; everyone who is not dead or injured is mentally damaged. There are very few left who returned to fight, and they are not completely healthy either,” said the parent of a soldier serving in the Nahal Brigade. In the 11th deployment of this brigade, it was noted that out of a platoon of 30 soldiers, only six decided to return to the battlefield...

ACLU Leadership Rejects Staff Demands to Condemn U.S. Role in Israel’s Gaza War

from The Intercept

Staffers at the American Civil Liberties Union began to circulate an internal petition earlier this year urging its leadership to take a public stance against the U.S. support for Israel’s war in Gaza and Israel’s illegal occupation of Palestinian territories.

The petition — which also calls on the ACLU to disclose and divest potential investments in Israel and oppose U.S. military aid to Israel — cites previous moments in history when the ACLU condemned international events, such as its opposition to the Vietnam War and South African apartheid. As of early October, 681 staffers from across the free speech organization’s national office and local chapters had signed on to support the petition, about one-third of its overall staff.

In early October, the ACLU’s national board of directors convened to vote on the petition. The governing body rejected the staffers’ calls with a 50-4 vote and one abstention, according to documents obtained by The Intercept. This week, after continued requests from staffers, ACLU leadership also rejected requests for a town hall meeting where staffers could hear leaders’ reasons for dismissing the petition...

'Horrifying scenes' unfolding after Israeli massacre in Gaza's Beit Lahia: UN

from PressTV

“Horrifying scenes” are unfolding in the Gaza town of Beit Lahia, where the Israeli regime’s airstrikes overnight and into Sunday killed dozens of Palestinians, most of them women and children, the UN says.

UN Special Coordinator for the Middle East Peace Process Tor Wennesland said in a Sunday statement that “nowhere is safe in Gaza.”

“The nightmare in Gaza is intensifying. Horrifying scenes are unfolding in the northern Strip amidst conflict, relentless Israeli strikes and an ever-worsening humanitarian crisis.”

“This war must end,” Wennesland said, adding that the displacement of Palestinians must cease, and civilians must be protected wherever they are.

Gaza's Health Ministry said that at least 87 people were killed or missing in the Israeli airstrikes on Beit Lahia...
